A life lost is a life without Jesus.
Who can easily be found if you honestly seek Him.
Remember, he knows just where you are.
No matter how near or far… you may be.

Travel the right roads, make the right choices.
In all your doing, don’t listen to those big voices.
Only that small whisper, the voice of God.
That assures it will be alright when it seems hard.

The enemy comes to kill, steal, and destroy.
God’s love will bring you joy.
The enemy won’t have his way.
God’s got you today and every day.

Be Blessed! JD

Ephesians 6:24
“May God’s grace be eternally upon all who love our Lord Jesus Christ.”

Trust God’s Master Plan

A few months ago I made a major transition in my life that I stubbornly refused to make 4 years ago. I chose to go in a different direction but it didn’t work the way “I” planned. I suffered and made things worse.

I fell face flat, to my lowest of lows convinced my life was over. But the real test came when I kept trying to hold on to things from my past, refusing to let go.

It was not until I began to release the things I knew were not of value that I began to realize the role I played. I knew better. I knew God and what he stood for in my life but I refused to settle. I felt useless, worthless and of no value to God. I kept telling God, “I don’t want to do this your way. I want to do it my own way. Why? Why can’t I?” Convinced I needed to define myself by my past.

I stopped and began to think. What have I done that God hasn’t already shown me could be done had I listened to him? It was my fault. I took full responsibility for my actions. Never once saying, “If I would have” because I did this to myself; no one to blame but me. I suffered some painful losses, all at my own expense. But no matter what, God never left me.

It was in this moment that God came to me one last time and said, “My dear child, I am God of many chances but how many chances must I send to prove who I am? You profess, but do you believe? Do you know? Take heed.”

“Listen to what I say, because of you; this opportunity may never come your way… again. Let go and let me do what I promised you. All I’ve tried to show you. Stop trying to do what you know I can do.

“I have plans for you. Not to bring you harm but to prosper you, plans to give you hope and a future.” (”

At that moment, it was out of my brokenness I began to see God. He began dealing with me on a level I had never experienced before. He began closing door after door and opened new ones too. I paid attention. I took notice and began to change too. The way I lived life and things I would do.

I started meditating regularly. Praying, fasting, and seeking deliverance from things that didn’t please Him or me. I began to reverence God. In submission of my mind, I worked to change my attitude, my behavior. I persevered, determined to stand the test of time.

God’s been with me every step of the way. I am a living testimony. And will always say. He is my rock, my salvation, and the love of my life. No matter the trials I’ve endured or strife. I’ve seen the wonders of God in my life. My life changed. “God you don’t need to tell me again.”

Today, I witnessed a miracle again. You sent a guardian angel to bring an end. Things I thought would never be. Things I kept struggling to see. All this time, what you’ve been trying to tell me. “I am Alpha and Omega. The beginning and the end. I won’t finish what I’ve started until it all ends. You must trust and believe. Stand on my Word and receive. What I have stored up for you. I will see you through.” Your life is in my hands. Trust my Master Plan.

God favored me today. He showed up in a mighty way. Nothing in this world could ever happen this way. Not the way I saw it on that day.

God, I thank you! I get it now. Your Word is your bond. No ifs, and, what, or how. Your plan is always greater than what I may see. Your way is and will always be, my way from this point on until eternity…. Every day.  —JD

Give Thanks!

Let us give praise, honor, and glory unto God for grace and mercy! As we start the day let not only one day be a day you live to be better, live to do better, and live to get better but let everyday be a day you reconcile and surrender your will to God’s Will as you live to be Christ-like in every area of your life.

As a witness, let your days be filled with perseverance and divine authority as you lead others to Christ. May you continue to walk in victory, honor God, and spread the gospel about Jesus Christ, my Lord and Savior to everyone you may encounter.

We all have a destiny, an eternal destiny. God has a plan and a purpose for each and every one of us. As I walk in my purpose, I will profess to the world that my Lord and Savior is Jesus Christ. I will profess his goodness, his mercy, and his omnipotence. I will proclaim his faithfulness. I will proclaim his power. I am a witness.

For, “The most important thing is that I complete my mission, the work that the Lord Jesus gave me–to tell people the Good News about God’s grace” [Acts 20:24, NCV]. Because to me, it means God is able. Able to do exceeding and abundantly above all we could ask or think… [Ephesians 3:20].

My prayer: Jehovah Jireh, grant unto me and every family member and friend, according to your riches in glory, your tender mercies and immeasurable favor, the treasures of darkness, and hidden riches of secret places according to Isaiah 45:1-3. I declare that the Cyrus anointing flows unhindered and uncontaminated in each and every life according to Isaiah 60:10-17. Grant peace, mercy, and favor. I seal this prayer in Jesus’ name, AMEN! — JD

Seek and you shall find

God’s presence can be felt in a gentle whisper when he sends a comforting message. But sometimes we miss the mark and the message out of fear and failure. We’re afraid He will tell us something we don’t want hear. We’re afraid we will fail. But we won’t, if we are cognizant of His presence.

Often we struggle with our feelings and fail to realize God’s there, waiting on us. It doesn’t stop Him.  Nor does it relieve you from the assignment. God will speak to your emotions, confront them, & command action. “God often speaks through the gentle and obvious rather than the spectacular and unusual.”

When we feel fear and failure, he tells up to pull it together, suck it up and know that I will make available every resource you need to complete this task. You won’t fail.

Don’t be discouraged. “We are never as alone as we may feel; God is always there. “ Be strong. “We are never closer to defeat than in our moments of greatest victory.”

The example of Elijah’s life sends a strong message of God’s Providence, the Power of Prayer, the Need for Commitment and Perseverance.  Remember, the same miracle that was available to Elijah is available to us, “To have a personal relationship with God” and “be able to know Him.”

When God says “don’t do because it’s not what’s best for you”, but you say “I’m going to do it anyway because I want to have my way”…accept the consequence. Because in the end, whether sooner or later, God will have his way.

He will take all your troubles away. Only if you seek him honestly and wholeheartedly. Don’t let nothing stand in your way. Of missing the blessings God has for you today. He is the great “I AM that I AM.” His Word will stand.

Have a great day!!

Life must be based on decisions surrounding your relationship with God. Maintaining spiritual growth is essential. God calls us to grow. We must work to further develop. But in order to grow spiritually, we must have a desire to do so. We must be committed to maintaining regular communication and daily study of the Word.

God’s Word provides steps that we can take towards growth and spiritual maturity. The epistle of Hebrews is an excellent resource that provides a rich understanding to the reader. Yet it is considered one of the most difficult books of the Bible. However, through careful study it can provide a wealth of key practical information.

The Bible notes Hebrews is a call to Christian maturity. It applies to Christians of any age or background. It is available to us all. “Christian maturity means to make Christ the beginning and end of your faith.” To grow in maturity, we must center our lives on God and not worldly influences.

As Christians, spiritual development must not stop at a place of complacency, believing we know enough about God to become comfortable where we are. We must grow in the knowledge of Christ. We must grow in his grace. We must live according to God’s laws and not our own.

Take a moment to ask yourself, “Is Christ evident in my life? As a believer, what progress am I making to grow spiritually? What do I need to do to ensure I get there?

These questions will allow you to examine your behavior and the relationship you have with Christ as you work to develop a plan to grow in maturity. —JD

I find that in my life, I will stand firm in my beliefs and my conviction and confess God’s truth to the world, regardless of the obstacles and adversity I will face. Regardless of who we are my concern is always for those I believe in some way are lost. I truly have compassion for all and often will express it in prayer.

No matter what I see in front of me, I always believe it is a “requirement” to pray for others no matter who they are or what they’ve done. No exceptions. My personal feelings, emotions, etc. are to be left at the door. As a believer in the Body of Christ I will never compromise my belief to accommodate someone else.

Anyone that knows me, know I am not afraid to confront conflict. I won’t create it, but I also won’t run from it. Needless to say, out of nowhere came this person who found it necessary to question my religion, or should I say my reality topping it off with a statement that appeared to contradict my conviction, thinking this would solve the problem.

I call these people “naysayers” from the “itty bitty I disagree” committee. Judgment, Authority, and Scripture were the subject of discussion. He implied maybe I don’t read my Bible, with much attitude (with exclamation marks everywhere). Oh, no he didn’t. Oh, yes he did.

“Wow” was all I could think to refrain from bringing out my old character. To say I need to read the Bible because of my comments, which were led by the Spirit, that were not in agreement with what he wanted to hear or that I would agree to not disagree was simply in my opinion, ignorant. Didn’t have time or energy to waste arguing a point. And out of respect, I choose not to discredit his “viewpoint.” Wanted to be fair. He’s entitled.

My point was this and only this. Simply, “It is not my place to judge. God judges ALL sins and punishes them appropriately.” He is not a respecter of person. He does not show favoritism or partiality. God is just, fair, equal. Point blank. Then subtly there it was Scripture- He said this, “Those who have authority are placed by God (in scripture) so let those in authority judge.” Me: “Point taken.”

But…don’t use the Word to validate your position. My Opinion: People God place in authority do not have a right to judge but a duty to be impartial, fair, and just. I respect people in authority. I do not refute the idea that God has placed government and its leaders in power. This is all God.

But be CLEAR, they do not have ultimate power. It is God who gives them authority. They are put in positions to lead but will only do so under His authority. Because God has ALL authority. As for my reading the Bible, I didn’t need to dignify this with an answer but only say, I do and my thoughts may never be what others think it should be because it doesn’t matter. Anyone can “read” the Bible but I believe to know the Word is to understand the Word, thus in order to truly live by the Word you must do what it says (James 1:22).

I am still a work in progress/process. I do my best to operate by the Spirit and not by the flesh. Yet I am human and will falter from time and time. Forgive me. Yet I will never compromise who I am and who I’ve become and make another’s life easy or better yet condone their ignorance. God’s Word is written on my heart. Evidenced in the things He’s done and what I know he can do even when I haven’t seen it. “Faith”

Let me make this plain; “To believe God’s Word is to believe the truth- God’s WORD is the Truth.” This is my belief. “Say what you mean.” Don’t seek out others to pick on just because you don’t have the tenacity to admit that you’re wrong. Don’t blame because you “think” you’re right.

My brother reminded me of something my father once said, “Don’t let anybody tell you that you don’t know what you already know. Know that you know what you already know.” Because “You know that you know.” I love my Dad. He is a wise man. —JD

Life's journeyThe perception of my life story is parallel to the journey I ultimately find myself living through God as a testament of my Faith. Meaning, I view my life story (things I’ve gone through), similar to the spiritual road I’ve traveled (journey of life) which I’ve lived based on my faith in God.

When God created us, he created us in his own image. We share many of his characteristics. Not in the physical sense but in spiritual, mental, and emotional. We have attributes of wisdom, love, joy and are given human spirit and moral judgment to choose to do good or bad and choose to make right or wrong right decisions.

The problem comes when we rebel against God and against his creation in our disobedience to Him. We go against His will. And out of human nature, follow our own way. We lack judgment. We lack wisdom. We refuse to listen to the Word of God. Through willful rebellion, we ignore and lose sight of Him. We make the choice to disobey.

Contrary to popular belief, a practice that is outside of God’s will that is generally accepted by society and followed by a course of action, goes against what God desires. Urges are natural. They were created by God.  But they are not established or intended by Him. It’s a human function of the body we either resist or give in to. Our thoughts, drives, and urges are natural processes but become wrong when we begin to harbor impure thoughts and act upon them.

God designed us with characteristics to use the way they were created to be used. Yet we all fall short and miss the mark, sometimes failing to do the right thing. But it doesn’t have to be this way. When faced with temptation or adversity, we can choose to look to God for help. He will give us the right answer.

We have a choice to use our experiences wisely, correctly or use them incorrectly, negatively. We must be willing to part ways from anything that causes us to fail. His Word says, “No temptation has seized you except what is common to man and God will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear.” 1 Cor 10:13 He will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can stand up under it.

Life gives us experiences that help us learn to build godly character. God gives us the ability to understand his nature and conform to it. To be a new creature in Christ is to bear the same characteristics as He. When we become new creatures, we learn obedience. We work to obey God. We follow Him. When we become a new creation we bring a blend of ourselves and Christ into the human person. We will deny self and take up our cross.

The Holy Spirit provides us with the same ability Jesus had to resist temptation. He depended solely on God. We, too, must do the same. Empowerment of the Holy Spirit will be essential to strengthen you to come against the thing that controls you. In the end, you will desire to relinquish that which controls you.

Jesus came to do the will of God, the One who sent him, and to complete His work (John 4:34). He surrendered his life and his will to God’s agenda. Let us do the same. The same qualities that characterize Jesus, surrender and self-sacrifice, should be the same of that for us. Take up your cross. Walk in the righteous path God has designed for you. Follow and obey his will for you.

Remove anything and everything that will stand in the way of bringing glory to God. Abandon your own desires. Give of yourself. Die to the flesh. Submit to God’s power. Put the Lord first above everything. Live in total submission to Him.

Life is what we perceive it to be. Let our perception be what we know and believe. When we stand in faith on what we know God will do. Choose to live in submission. Do what he desires of you. Stay on course. Follow through. Live by Faith. God will reward you.

Be blessed! —JD

Philippians 3:8-9 “Indeed, I count everything as loss because of the surpassing worth of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord. For his sake I have suffered the loss of all things and count them as rubbish, in order that I may gain Christ 9 and be found in him, not having a righteousness of my own that comes from the law, but that which comes through faith in Christ, the righteousness from God that depends on faith.”

A Mother’s Love

God put this on my heart today. To share these thoughts of what I’ve been led to say:

God bless the child that has his own.
For God sits high on a throne.
He knows all your rights and wrongs.

You see, he knew you long before he knew me.
Even though they say the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree.
Your inherent genes will always be a part of me.

It is never a good idea to forsake the ones God send to you.
No matter how much you disagree with what they say or do.
No matter how much you delay, God will show you the way.
To live righteously in his eyes or it’s an ultimate price you will pay.

The ultimate goal is to admonish God in your doings.
And not allow your life to end up in ruins.
Simply because you see no need to change.
Or because you’ve become an adult who lacks experience in the game… of Life.

Don’t lose sight in the midst of your emotions.
Avoid paying the cost based merely on a notion.
So that God may use you to change lives.
This is your assignment, your purpose, his desire.

Mothers are the salt of the earth. And so are fathers too.
Honor them as God would have you.
He tells you in his Word that this is what you must do.
That life may be more abundant for you.

It’s one thing to become an adult.
It’s another to consciously place fault.
In the ones whose words are to guide.
As God is on their side.

Longevity is not an entitlement. It is a blessing.
God keeps the old and swift to add to the message.
God doesn’t allow us to live as long as we do.
He has a plan for me. And he has one for you.

He uses parents to invoke knowledge and wisdom.
If only children will take the time to fully listen.
Respect, responsibility, accountability is required.
From children who become adults and believe they are entitled.
Don’t get it confused. It doesn’t take away.
The respect you are required by God to have for your parents always.

Parents are not perfect, but do their level best.
To love and guide you no matter what sometimes, may come from their chest.
You may not always like what they say.
But it helps if you express your opinion in a loving way.
You may not agree with everything they do.
But do your best not to let your feelings get to you.

Words hurt once they leave the lips.
Forgiveness is available, but it’s harder to forget.
Be careful what you say. God’s watching you, even today.
Evaluate your thoughts as your soul desires.
But remember God has ultimate power.

God put us here for such a time as this.
It would be absolutely remiss.
For us to not do as God instructs us to.
As for you, be careful who you entrust your life to.
It would be foolish to abandon the wisdom we try to impart upon you.

You can hide, but you can’t run.
God’s WILL will be done.
God will find you. It’s just a matter of time.
Don’t get caught up in the daily grind.
Of doing things your way.
Because there will come a day…. of reckoning.

Seek the wisdom of God.
There’s nothing he can’t do. He fixed me. He can fix you, too.

It is with this I say,
I’m a parent. I won’t ever go astray.
Or divert from the principles of what God teaches me every day.
Love in spite of who you may be.
Because I know God has a greater plan for me.

It’s never by our power or might. To make all things all right.
Don’t let the sun go down and live with regret.
Because once we close our eyes, you can’t bring us back.
To say what you held off today. You will live regretting it all your days.

You may think, “It won’t happen to me.”
“I’m invincible. I can do as I well please.”
Oh but when the day comes.
You will be held accountable to explain to God what it is you haven’t done.

Parents will always continue to pray.
For their children even when they lose their way.
When there’s nothing else we can do.
We surrender our children to God. He’ll correct you.

No matter the time or day. Know that a mother’s love will always stay.
You will remain close in her heart. Her love for you will never part.

Whatever it takes to be you, don’t stop trying.
But don’t fall to the tricks of the enemy in denying.
The Word of God, even when you don’t want to.
Because you’ll miss the blessing he has for you.

Jesus likened himself to the vine and believers to its branches.
We are given many chances.
To produce good fruit for God.
It’s not that hard.

Jesus is the vine. He produces lasting fruit.
Abide in Him as He abides in you.
And you will bear much fruit too.

His word is written. It is the truth.
Make it your goal to live by it. Thank you.

Be Blessed! JD
