Don’t Allow Your Circumstances To Change You

The one thing I find that does not change in life is facing opposition or obstacles. Not a day goes by that something does not happen in our lives where we are driven to make a choice either with how we will respond to a situation or how we will behave because of a situation that someone else may have caused prompting an unsolicited response.

Some of us may wake with a feeling of joy, contentment, and accomplishment feeling blessed and thankful God allowed us to see another day. Only to feel lost, broken, confused, and downright sick and tired of being sick and tired when faced with an issue that will affect our well-being or our life because something drastically changed by the middle, end, or few hours of the day.

It took me years to arrive at the place I now find myself being content with how I choose to handle things but I think back on a time when the least annoyance or literal change in my life would cause me to explode, rant, rave, and be in an uproar because of my inability to change the course of action to fit my selfish needs. It didn’t matter who was affected by my decision nor did it matter how I would react. All that mattered is I needed to have my own way. And I would allow obstacles and my way of thinking get in my way preventing me from thinking rationally to make an appropriate decision that would minimize its affects, because of me.

Through time as I developed and matured in my relationship with God, I changed and the manner in how I would respond to situations changed drastically. I accredit this all to God. And while many believe when you grow in age, with age comes wisdom. I am convinced with knowledge of God, when we look to God, come godly wisdom.

Life changes and we do to. But when we learn to accept that which is in our control and leave the rest up to God, we will change for the better too. Emotional responses and irrational thinking will render unfavorable results. Wouldn’t it be easier to respond in a way that will favorably change the outcome and bring favorable results? Instead of  blowing our temper, giving up in frustration, and simply leaving it only to have it come full circle again because we really had not resolved it properly in the first place. We can choose to go to God. Make a decision with a clear mind, seek his direction, find an honorable solution when given discernment and move on, trusting God.

Every day the enemy comes to kill, steal, and destroy. And in most cases, it starts in the mind. We are what we think and we become what we feel when we lose sight of who we are. When we allow our minds to convince us we are above all things on earth and above God and can handle everything that comes our way, we will fail because of refusal to change our mind set. We suffer the consequence even though we could have avoided it. And cause our own demise out of failure to grow spiritually and look to God for wisdom and knowledge in it.

Be willing to change your way of thinking when making decisions in life where nothing is off limits when it concerns your well-being, your health, your children, your finances, and your family. Look to the source, God, for guidance. Choose not to respond to the situation. Suffer not in your affliction. It may seem hard, too much to bear. Know that God will give you strength to endure in your suffering.

You may not understand what you are going through. Regardless what suffering may bring, keep the faith. Trust God to bring you through. In your worst circumstance, rely on God. In the worst situation, trust God. He will bring you through. God promised you.

Everything in the Bible counsels us to trust God in all things no matter the circumstance. Trust in God. Don’t look at your circumstance. “Trust overcomes fear. Trust overcomes depression. Trust overcomes hate.” (1Pe 4:19) You will walk hating everything about your life when you lose sight of God and choose not to change your way of thinking or wait.

Don’t let your circumstance allow you to fear. And cause your mind to convince you to think irrationally out of fear. Trust God in good times and bad, during rainstorms and cloudy days. Even when your money is low and your pockets are full of small change. Trust God in all things. “No matter how overwhelming the situation looks or how it makes you feel” don’t respond out of emotion. Look to God for answers to questions he will reveal (4:19). Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find (Matt 7:7). Don’t conform to the patterns of this world but be transformed by the renewing of your mind (Ro 12:2).

Pursue knowledge of God to grow spiritually. Change your mindset that you may think clearly. Seek godly wisdom, the Word of God. Rely solely on God. Grow in Christ. Let the Holy Spirit guide your thoughts and actions in reveal of the right answers in order to make the right decisions fearlessly. Have the mind of Christ.

Don’t allow your circumstances to change you. Even if your situation may not change, consider it an opportunity to allow God to change you. Your heart and mind will also change. Rely on God. You will never be the same.

Be blessed! -JD

1 Peter 4:12-13 “Beloved, do not be surprised at the fiery trial when it comes upon you to test you, as though something strange were happening to you. 13 But rejoice insofar as you share Christ’s sufferings, that you may also rejoice and be glad when his glory is revealed.” (ESV)

Rejoice! It’s Giant Take Down Day!

Today is giant take down day! Slay giants standing in your way. Put God’s Word on it. God will put power behind it. Declare and decree. I’ve got the VICTORY!

There may be some giants standing between you and God’s purpose for your life. Stand! There’s a purpose for your life. You’re spiritually equipped with the armor of God. The devil can’t have your life. Put on the full armor of God. Stand against the enemy’s devices (Eph 6:11). Fight for your life. God protects the righteous.

Speak to that giant. When he starts talking mess, talk mess back to him! Let him know you’re not taking his mess. He won’t win. God will place him under your feet. God wins! The devil will be defeated.

Every giant that has been standing in your way will fall today! God will have his way. Declare and decree. God gave you victory! You’re victimless. You have the victory!

Rejoice! It’s giant take down day! Have thine own way Lord.  Have thine own way!

1 Corinthians 15:56-58 “The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law. 57 But thanks be to God, who gives us victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. 58 Therefore, my beloved brothers, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that in the Lord your labor is not in vain. Pray, Stay Connected

Prayer is the pathway for a loving and working relationship with God. Through prayer, we grow in our love for him and our knowledge of God. Prayer is our direct line of ongoing communication with the Father. It never stops; nor should we. Keep the lines open between you and the Father. We are privileged. Pray without ceasing.

There may be some painful parts of your past you wish to forget. It was good you were afflicted. God allowed it that you may be blessed.

You may have been hurt by ones who walked out of your life. God allowed affliction to remove ones he knew were not meant for your destiny that no longer needed to be a part of your life. When God allows affliction, promotion will follow. Painful lessons are necessary. It’s required. You may go through some things. Life may not seem fair. Know God is with you. God’s there.
Run the race. Stand on the promises of God.  You will find deliverance. You will make it there. Trust in God.

God will supply all your needs. God knows what it is you need. Jesus tells us not to worry about the needs that God promises to supply (Matt 6:25). Don’t worry and allow it to disrupt or ruin your life.

Worry can affect your health and can consume your thoughts that will impact you negatively. It will disrupt your ability to sustain and live freely. You will become stagnated in productivity.  It can affect how you treat others. Negativity will hinder your ability to prosper.

Discern the difference between worry and genuine concern. “Worry immobilizes, but concern moves you into action (6:25).” When you know what you can do, that’s in your control, and what you are capable of doing, do it. Take action. When you know what is not in your control, what you are not capable of and cannot do, give it to God. Let him have control. Let Him do. God has all control. Do your best. Let God handle the rest.

Pain can hurt and negatively affect your life. Worry can disrupt your life. Don’t let it consume you. God is with you. The Lord will provide. God is Jehovah Jireh. He is our provider.

Prayer is the key. Faith unlocks the door. Cast all your cares upon the Lord. Don’t worry about a thing. Don’t let your past hinder you. Give it all to God. Surrender. Trust in God’s will for you.

Pray, stay connected. Talk to God all day. Release the pain that has you disconnected. Praise God, no matter your circumstance today. Give thanks for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you. There’s purpose in your praise. Praise God for all he has done, what he will do, and what he is going to do!

Be blessed! –JD

Luke 18:1-8 “Then Jesus told his disciples a parable to show them that they should always pray and not give up. He said: “In a certain town there was a judge who neither feared God nor cared what people thought. And there was a widow in that town who kept coming to him with the plea, ‘Grant me justice against my adversary.’ “For some time he refused. But finally he said to himself, ‘Even though I don’t fear God or care what people think, yet because this widow keeps bothering me, I will see that she gets justice, so that she won’t eventually come and attack me!’” And the Lord said, “Listen to what the unjust judge says. And will not God bring about justice for his chosen ones, who cry out to him day and night? Will he keep putting them off? I tell you, he will see that they get justice, and quickly. However, when the Son of Man comes, will he find faith on the earth?”

Lies and Rumors, Rumors and Lies; The Devil is a Liar!

Oftentimes our past will hinder our ability to receive the blessings God has stored up for us. We choose to become bound by things which we have no control but will give control when we fail to resist or release it, letting it control us.

When the devil tells you a lie you know is not the truth. Don’t believe him. He lies and doesn’t believe in the truth. God will place the enemy under your feet. The devil will flee!

The devil’s a LIAR. He’s weak. He’ll do anything to make you feel useless when you’re weak. If God be for you who can be against you? No one can be against you when God is for you. The devil can’t take from you what God already promised you. He may try to convince you it’s not yours. It’s yours. God promised it to you.

Confusion comes from the adversary that will leave you wondering where God is when you’re broken and can’t find healing. Rebuke that spirit! When you can’t see God in the midst of your trials, know that God is with you all the while. Don’t look to the right or the left. Look to God for help. He is a present help. When you’re at your lowest of lows and feel you can’t go on. Be strong. Man can do you no harm. God sits high on the throne. He’ll work it out. Hold on. Have faith. It’s done. God already worked it out.

Failure is expected when you stop trying. You ultimately will give up without trying. God won’t fail you. Great is his faithfulness. Don’t give up or think he’s not there for you. It’s just a test. God loves you. A double-minded person has a single thought mentality. They’re unstable in all they do and lack clarity. Live one life. Have the mind of Christ. Don’t think about it twice.

When others tell you you’ll never be anything. Don’t believe them. Misery loves company. In God’s eyes, you are more than a conqueror.

When others look down on you, don’t let it trouble you. Defeat is a symptom of a lack of faith. Look to God from whence cometh your help. When in doubt, have faith. When there’s fear, pray. God will make a way. When lost, seek God. He’s just a prayer away.

When in opposition with the enemy, disillusionment will make you think God is who you want him to be. God is God. He is and always will be.

KNOW THIS: “God is not man, that he should lie, or a son of man, that he should change his mind. Has he said, and will he not do it? Or has he spoken, and will he not fulfill it?” (Numbers 23:19)

Lies and rumors, rumors and lies; the devil is a liar! Don’t believe anything he says. He’s the father of lies (Jn 8:44). Tell the truth. Shame the devil. Don’t be afraid of the truth. Trust God.  God does not lie. His Word is truth.

Be blessed! –JD

Lamentations 3:19-24 “I remember my affliction and my wandering, the bitterness and the gall. 20 I well remember them, and my soul is downcast within me. 21 Yet this I call to mind and therefore I have hope: 22 Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail. 23 They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness. 24 I say to myself, “The Lord is my portion; therefore I will wait for him.”

The Power of Faith Can Change Your Life!

Guercino - Jesus and the Samaritan Woman at th...

Guercino – Jesus and the Samaritan Woman at the Well – WGA10946 (Photo credit: Wikipedia)

Faith is a word with many meanings, such as faithfulness and absolute faith, as shown by some people who came to Jesus for healing. We may suffer yet it’s not the physical action that will bring healing. When we humble ourselves in the presence of God, by faith we will find healing.

We may come broken, hurt, ashamed of who we are. Filled with guilt because we are not sure of whom we are. Because of past failures, our hearts may be heavy laden with guilt and shame. By faith, we can be saved and go in peace believing God can make us whole again. God heals. Even in your brokenness, God will heal.

Remember the woman with the issue of blood for twelve years who couldn’t find a doctor that she may be healed. By one touch of Jesus’ garment, she was instantly healed. Even though she thought she’d go unnoticed because of the crowd, Jesus asked, “Who touched me?” out loud. He knew someone touched him before he asked. Someone intentionally touched him expecting to be healed before asking. Jesus’ power went from him to her at one touch. In that moment she was healed by his power at one touch. One touch!

When Jesus looked for the person who touched him, the woman knew she could not go unnoticed. She came to him trembling. She fell at his feet and told him why she had touched him, and how she had been instantly healed when she touched him. Jesus said to her, “Daughter, your faith has healed you. Go in peace.” It wasn’t his cloak that had special powers that healed her and brought her to her knees. It was her faith, a touch of faith that released God’s healing power that healed her and brought her to Jesus’ feet. (Luke 8:43-48)

Before the woman left his presence Jesus asked one thing of her, the one thing she wanted to keep hidden; her presence known to others. Jesus asked that she identify herself and tell her story to others. This in turn would allow him to encourage her and show just how much he loved her (Mark 5:33 NLT). Jesus did not want her to leave his presence thinking she had stolen her miracle. He wanted her to understand he was delighted to heal her. The woman found much more healing than she expected. Jesus offered the gift of healing and the privilege of knowing him when she least expected it. Glory! There’s power in healing even when our faith is tested.

Then there’s our witness, our profession of faith. When we tell others about God’s healing power, it is a testament of our faith.

Think about the Samaritan woman at the well who had five husbands and lived with a man she wasn’t married to. She had never met or knew Jesus until their meeting at the well and even then she didn’t know or realize who she was talking to. Jesus told the woman at the well everything she did. He told her just what she needed to hear. She shared her joy. Others believed in Jesus because of her professed faith, as shown in her joy. (John 4:39-42)

She didn’t do anything spectacular. All she did was tell her story of how Jesus knew her and cared about her. Her life was changed by his words. The woman at the well became an agent of change for God because of her words.

Had she kept her joy to herself, no one would have witnessed the miraculous change. She wasn’t ashamed. By Jesus, she was changed. When she shared her experience with others, her story introduced and brought others to Christ. She was an effective witness. They too were changed forever by Christ.

The woman at the well shared her story immediately. When the woman with the issue of blood saw she couldn’t go unnoticed, she told her story immediately. These were nameless women who told others about how Jesus healed them. They showed others Jesus’ love for them. Their lives were changed. Others, because of their testimonies, became curious, were led to Christ, and their lives too were changed.

As believers, don’t be riddled with guilt or ashamed of your past because of who you once were or who you are. You are an agent of change for God. Come to God just as you are. No matter how great or how ashamed you may be because of sins from your past life. Profess your faith. Share your story of how Jesus changed your life. Be an example. Be an effective witness for and let others know about Christ. Help bring others to Christ.

When you tell your story, faith will change your life not because of what you believed in, but because of who you believe in. Share your faith and your testimony of God’s love. It will please and glorify God. It can help save the life of someone who does not know God.

The power of faith can change your life! Don’t give up or give in to strife. Be an agent of change for God. Be a witness. Persevere. There’s power in the name of Jesus. Have faith. Be healed!

Be blessed! –JD

1 Peter 1:7-9 “These have come so that the proven genuineness of your faith—of greater worth than gold, which perishes even though refined by fire—may result in praise, glory and honor when Jesus Christ is revealed. Though you have not seen him, you love him; and even though you do not see him now, you believe in him and are filled with an inexpressible and glorious joy, for you are receiving the end result of your faith, the salvation of your souls.” (NIV)

Calling All Prayer Warriors, Please Say a Prayer

Our Thoughts And Prayers Are With You #2I know this picture looks familiar but with all that is going on in the world the past few days. I couldn’t help but share a revised copy of it again today. In remembrance of those who have lost loved ones. To let them know we’re thinking of and praying for them.

There are times when I can’t look at the news and find myself far removed from things that trouble me. But today was a day I couldn’t help but hear and see news of violent storms and yet again unspeakable tragedy. That took the lives of innocent people in a certain part of the nation. Now my heart is saddened and my soul has been stirred and shaken.

Once again tragedy has struck and taken lives of the innocent. God, I know I mustn’t ask when it all will end, because some things will continue to happen because of the fallen world we live in. I can’t keep up with all that’s going on in the world. The best thing I can do is pray for the loss of innocent souls. As well as those whose mind may have left momentarily because of the enemy, who may have convinced them only to confuse them that their life and the life of others needed to end.

Father, please forgive them for they know not what they do. Father, I ask that you cover them because of what they unknowingly may have done to hurt others and disobey you. I pray for the family who is now left bewildered and distraught and left behind. Trying to figure out what happened to bring about this tragic time.

My prayers are with the victims and families of senseless tragedies and violent storms that continue to occur across the nation. God send comfort, peace, and healing in light of devastation. Jesus, be a fence. May the blood of the Lamb protect them. I pray for strength of families who have lost loved ones, no matter the circumstance which they’ve lost loved ones. God calm the troubled waters of those who will cry endlessly, because of pain felt so deeply. Heal the hearts of those who may feel distraught, because of a void that has left a hole in their hearts. Peace be still. Heal their hearts.

God I know you are healer. You are a strong tower. You are God Almighty in every waking hour. Surround the homes of every family and friend. Dispatch angels of mercy to cover them. Your grace is sufficient no matter the tide. Let the hearts of those affected by tragedy be healed in the face of those who have been hurt, who are lost, or who have died. You are God all by yourself. For every family across the nation you are a present help. This is my prayer I pray. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.

Here’s a candle and a comforting scripture to let you know across the nation we are saying a prayer and thinking of you. We are praying for you.

Calling all prayer warriors, please say a prayer. Light a candle. Let them know God is there. Say a prayer for every family and victim across the nation everywhere. “For where two or three gather in my name, there am I with them” (Matt 18:20). God hears the prayers of the righteous. May the peace of God be with them.

Be blessed. –JD

2 Corinthians 1:3-4 “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our affliction, so that we may be able to comfort those who are in any affliction, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God.” (ESV)

Words of Encouragement

There’s power in your witness.
Purpose for your pain.
Joy where there’s sadness.
Rejoice. Live again.
Represent God in everything. Shine!

The power of your walk is evidence of God’s faithfulness.
Your witness is evidence.
Don’t allow your situation to hinder your faith witness.
Give witness to your faith. Bear witness. Soar!

Be blessed! -JD

Romans 1:16-17 “For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first and also to the Greek. 17For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith for faith, as it is written, “The righteous shall live by faith.” (ESV)

Who is God?

If someone were to ask you “Who is God” what would you tell them who is God?

Here’s what I would say. God is the Creator and Ruler of all things. God is eternal. God is the Supreme Being. God is limitless. He is an infinite being. We can’t limit God by our finite understanding. He is infinite. We may never understand it.

God is omnipotent. He is a strong tower. He has all power (Jeremiah 10:12). God is omniscient. He has infinite knowledge and wisdom (Psalm 147:5). God is omnipresent. His presence is everywhere (Psalm 139:7-12). We can find him when we seek him in the midst of our struggles and when in despair. He is a present help anywhere and everywhere. God is one but exists in three persons; God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. God is spirit.

If someone were to ask you “Why do you love God” what would you say about your love of God? You don’t have to answer right away, but here is what I would say. I love God because he first loved me. He gave his one and only Son Jesus. He sent his only begotten Son to die for me. Jesus died that I may have eternal life. God loves me unconditionally no matter the strife. God is love. I love him because he is God. God loves each and every one of us. “How could you not love God?”

If someone were to ask, “How do you know all these things of a being you cannot see? Is there any evidence you can show me of what you cannot see that I may see?” I believe this answer is easy. By faith, I know and believe in what I cannot see. By faith, I accept that God does exist even though I cannot see. I can sense his presence every day.  I believe, by faith.

Faith is the substance of things hoped for, evidence of things unseen (Heb 11:1). Faith is not based on proof of what we visualize when looking at material things. It is belief in what we cannot see that is not proof. Evidence of God cannot be proven or disproved.  It is our belief in God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit that we believe. What more proof do you need?

We may not physically see God, “The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of His hands. Day after day they pour forth speech; night after night they display knowledge. There is no speech or language where their voice is not heard. Their voice goes out into all the earth, their words to the ends of the world” (Psalm 19:1-4). God is Almighty God.

God is the Creator of the world. He is the giver and sustainer of all life. Without God, we’re nothing. There is no life.

If someone were to ask you about God, what would you say? If someone asked, “Who is God” what would you say? As a believer, I would simply tell them “God is infinite. God exists. Have faith in God’s existence.

Be blessed! –JD

Psalm 139:7-12 “Where shall I go from your Spirit? Or where shall I flee from your presence? 8 If I ascend to heaven, you are there! If I make my bed in Sheol, you are there! 9 If I take the wings of the morning and dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea, 10 even there your hand shall lead me, and your right hand shall hold me. 11 If I say, “Surely the darkness shall cover me, and the light about me be night,” 12 even the darkness is not dark to you; the night is bright as day, for darkness is as light with you.”

A psalm of David

Psalm 143:1-12 Lord, hear my prayer, listen to my cry for mercy; in your faithfulness and righteousness come to my relief. Do not bring your servant into judgment, for no one living is righteous before you. The enemy pursues me, he crushes me to the ground; he makes me dwell in the darkness like those long dead. So my spirit grows faint within me; my heart within me is dismayed. I remember the days of long ago; I meditate on all your works and consider what your hands have done. I spread out my hands to you; I thirst for you like a parched land. Answer me quickly, Lord; my spirit fails. Do not hide your face from me or I will be like those who go down to the pit. Let the morning bring me word of your unfailing love, for I have put my trust in you. Show me the way I should go, for to you I entrust my life. Rescue me from my enemies, Lord, for I hide myself in you. 10 Teach me to do your will, for you are my God; may your good Spirit lead me on level ground. 11 For your name’s sake, Lord, preserve my life; in your righteousness, bring me out of trouble. 12 In your unfailing love, silence my enemies; destroy all my foes, for I am your servant.

Don’t Move Too Fast; Let go. Let God.

The Temptation of Christ, 1854
The Temptation of Christ, 1854 (Photo credit: Wikipedia)

When God birth something in you, he’s faithful and will do just as he promised you. Birthing pains may be hard but the reward, “My God!”

When we are pregnant with possibilities, we can’t help but to give birth to the very thing God sent to us. There will be labor pains and when it’s close to delivery, the devil will do everything in his power to distract us.

Let no man distract and deter you from God’s plan. God got this. It’s all in his hands. You may go through trials. Tribulations will come. In the end, God will be glorified! It’s already done.

Upon reflecting on the greatness of God and what he is doing in my life, the past few months have been what I call heartbreaking, disappointing, surreal, emotional, different, yet fulfilling.

Filled with anxiety, fear (yes, fear), and a multitude of emotions I never thought would happen given my level of faith and trust in God. But as with all things that are new to us, I believe in some way it is to be expected. However it should not be a place you remain too long or where you too often find yourself stagnated.

You see, eleven years ago God gave me a vision. And before I became ill and limited with the use of my hands, I had an idea I felt would be of benefit to a target market I felt was not being tapped into. God had a plan.

Being the unique person I am because with most things I choose not to fall into the norm or fit in with what society deems as stereotypical, I love when a challenge presents itself and I work to solve it. I refuse to find myself defeated where others may find themselves in life, and couldn’t help but stand up to the challenge during one of the most tumultuous times of my life.

I delved into a project and took the liberty of using what most would not believe was the right program to create unique designs, from a flowchart program one fellow classmate blessed me with who worked for a reputable technology corporation when I could not afford it at a time.

I kept trying to figure out what to do with this thing only to lose hope and eventually gave up trying. I was impatient and disobedient. I kept trying to do it my way and couldn’t see my own fault in it. The devil had me spent. Then one day I stopped trying.

It was not until recently God set forth the plan and has been guiding my footsteps ever since. The transition has been smooth and seamless of which I can accredit to my being obedient in following his leading and not the leading of what I thought was best for me. God knew I needed every bit of more than eleven years to prepare me.

While there are still times I feel exhausted, overwhelmed, frustrated, irritated, and can’t see the end result of what God has prepared for me. I am assured this is a task God has assigned specifically for me. I have the greatest joy because I know God is with me. He is in front, on side, behind and goes before me. And I know I am on the right path God is leading me.

Everything happens in God’s time. It doesn’t matter what you or others may have in mind. God’s agenda is never our agenda. We may have a different plan but our agenda is not his agenda. The devil will try to make everything you do look good to you, even when it’s bad for you. And will try to convince you it’s what you are supposed to do. He wants you to think you are to follow your own lead when in fact, if you make the choice to do so you’re setting yourself up to fail.

Whenever God is at work, the devil is unrelenting. He is mad and wants to get even. He won’t stop until he gets your attention. He comes to kill, steal, and destroy. The battle is not yours, it’s the Lord’s. Know this, when the enemy comes to fight, put on the full armor of God. Take a stand against him. Be strong in the Lord (Eph 6:10-11).

When you tell God your plans, he smiles at you. You may think because you say so, it’s already worked out for you. In reality, God knows how it will end for you. God is in control. He has control over everything. Your plans are never his plans. Your agenda is not his agenda. He is the Author and Finisher.

When you take one step, God takes two. Although you can’t see him, envision footprints in the sand that will show a set of two. This is what it tells you. God is carrying you. His plan is much greater for you than what you may think when you follow you.

God will order your steps. Don’t move too fast. Remember, what you do for Christ and not for yourself or others, will last. Walk in obedience. Wait on God.

Don’t move too fast; let go. Let God.

Be blessed! –JD

1 Corinthians 8:1-3 “… It is true, of course, that “all of us have knowledge”, as they say. Such knowledge, however, puffs a person up with pride; but love builds up. 2Those who think they know something really don’t know as they ought to know. 3But the person who loves God is known by him.”

Don’t Get Stuck in the Valley

Mountains are big and in most cases, will be hard to climb. What you face may be too big for you to handle. With God, you will stand the test of time.

The valley is a test of your faith during a trial. God wants to see how much you will trust Him in the trial. It may be hard but know this. God will lead you out of the valley and will plant you on top of the mountain for such a time as this. God will give you strength to handle it.

When fear and discouragement cross your mind, know that God is there and will give you peace of mind. You mustn’t try to handle things on your own. God is Almighty. Let him handle it. For he sits high on the throne.

If God left everything up to you, your life would be a total mess because of you. God knows what’s best. He won’t let you settle for less.

When we’re stubborn and set in our own ways, we linger in the valley for what seems like forever trying to find our way out. Humbly submit to God. He’ll provide a way out.

God won’t deny you to climb the mountain set in a valley he brought you to. The valley you go through is set to prepare you to get to where God is taking you. God will take you through the valley to strengthen you so that you’re able to receive what he planned; to prosper you, plans to elevate you. It’s all God’s plan. Place your cares upon the Lord. Leave it all in God’s hands.

When you get to the place where God is leading you, the mountain will not be hard to climb. Even when you refused to see it, God was there all the time. It will happen all in his time. You will come through. Assured it was God and only God who brought you through.

Don’t linger in the valley because of what you refuse to do, because in the end it will only hurt you. Let go of selfishness, self-centeredness, and foolish pride. Let God instruct you and be your guide.  Change your ways. Take the advice written in God’s words that may come from others. It may be an unexpected source God is using to communicate his message to you through others.

Don’t allow your past to hinder you from doing the work of the Lord. God can use you just as he used Paul. Answer the call. God forgives you. Don’t let fear and stubbornness paralyze you.

God wants to use you to do his will. Don’t let your foolish will hinder you from obeying God and doing His will.

Don’t get stuck in the valley. Follow God’s lead. Climb your way out of the valley. God will move mountains when you let him lead.

Be blessed! –JD

1 Timothy 1:12-14 “I give thanks to Christ Jesus our Lord, who has given me strength for my work. I thank him for considering me worthy and appointing me to serve him, 13 even though in the past I spoke evil of him and persecuted and insulted him. But God was merciful to me because I did not yet have faith and so did not know what I was doing. 14 And our Lord poured out his abundant grace on me and gave me the faith and love which are ours in union with Christ Jesus.” (GNB)

In Support of September Pain Awareness Month

In support of a cause I am truly passionate about for those who suffer with ongoing chronic pain, as a pain advocate, I decided to dedicate this post today to lend my voice in honor of September Pain Awareness Month.

Having lived with chronic pain for the past eleven years and being diagnosed with various conditions, I became an  advocate with various chronic pain association organizations to help raise awareness. Although my efforts are limited due to limitations and challenges I face, I do what I can when I can to make a difference.

When I became diagnosed with Fibromyalgia in 2009, with the help of my family,  the first step in my journey  as a pain advocate began with submission of my story “Joy” to the APF Action Network. The story can also be read at http://action.painfoundation.org/site/PageNavigator/Voices_of_Pain.

To raise awareness about the need for effective pain care in response to the American Pain Foundation’s  (APF) “If I Lived in a World with Less Pain, I Could…” campaign to SECURE A FIRST-EVER PRESIDENTIAL PROCLAMATION OFFICIALLY NAMING EVERY SEPTEMBER NATIONAL PAIN AWARENESS MONTH, my family helped create this video “If I Lived in a World with Less Pain, I Could…” to share my voice as well as spread the word to bring awareness to what I believe is such an important issue in the lives of those who live with pain.

The video represents a poem of my message to PRESIDENT OBAMA of what MY WORLD WITH LESS PAIN would be like. It gives me an opportunity to make a difference in the lives of others as I work to bring national awareness to the “hidden” epidemic of pain (APF) so that those who suffer with pain will have a right to effective care and treatment; because “pain” is not just an individual or local problem. It is a national healthcare crisis. It does not only affect pain sufferers but it affects families, friends, associates and anyone who is connected to its world. Even though it may not directly affect every individual, the physical, financial and emotional affects can be devastating to the pain sufferer and the families of those who will ultimately suffer. But with your help, we all can make a difference.

APF ceased operation last year and is no longer active, but I am still campaigning and fighting for a presidential proclamation.

Please join me in support of this cause and spread the word DURING THE MONTH OF SEPTEMBER or UNTIL A PRESIDENTIAL PROCLAMATION IS SECURED by asking others to spread the word on Twitter, Facebook, Tumblr, or any other social media. Your support would be greatly appreciated! -JD
