The Depth of God’s Greatness is Unsearchable. We Can’t Trace Him. We May Never Understand His Plan. Trust Him

Depth Of God's Greatness JoaynnAs I sat reflecting on my past life and the person I used to be long ago who worried about any and everything, I started thinking how good God has been to me and began thanking Him for new beginnings. God has brought me a mighty long way. I am so grateful to God to be the person I am today.

I remember a time when I would stress over everything, no matter how big or small. There were many times I would not eat and lose sleep worrying about things that were not in my control. I tried to fix things on my own. But one day…..something changed and I figured out I couldn’t do it on my own. I started praying, meditating on the Word and calling out to God. I sought his intervention. When things were not in my control, I learned to accept it. I gave it all to God. I didn’t worry about a thing. I left it in his hands. I turned my life over to God and I have not been the same ever since. My life changed for the better. Thank you Lord. I am grateful.

I don’t waste time worrying anymore. Even though there are times, not many, when I am stressed oftentimes I don’t even realize that I am. If it weren’t for telltale signs in my body indicating stress, I would never know it.

Here’s a simple word of advice to ease your fears when you find yourself at a crossroad and in a dilemma. I hope it helps you. Don’t spend time worrying, stressed about things you cannot change. Turn worry into worship, stressing into blessings. Give it to God. Count your blessings. He will handle it.

We may never understand the depth of God’s greatness. Stop placing limitations on God, leaving him only one option because of your stubbornness and disobedience. God’s greatness is unsearchable. We can’t trace Him. Even when you don’t understand his plan, trust Him.

Be blessed! –JD

Isaiah 40:28, 29 “Do you not know? Have you not heard? The LORD is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He will not grow tired or weary, and his understanding no one can fathom. 29 He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak.” (NIV)

Do You Know How Rich You Probably Could Become If You Saved Every Time Someone Talked Bad or Gossiped About You Behind Your Back? Think About It

If I Had A Penny JoaynnPeace of mind comes when you learn to concern yourself with matters that only concern you. Let go of whatever doesn’t concern you. Give it to God. Be at peace. Otherwise, if you let people dictate every waking moment of your life because of what they think or say about you, you will never find peace. Find your own happiness. God wants us to be at peace.

At some point in life there will come a point and time we will decide some situations and relationships are not worth our attention or putting all our time and effort in. We will think about the pros and cons and begin to calculate the losses and the benefits. And will ask ourselves, is this adding to my life or subtracting from it?

We then will make the decision to let some things and some people go, so we can be happy and stop feeling uncomfortable. It’s not that we don’t love them but will love them from a distance. We no longer want to deal with the negativity, jealousy, hatred or be inconvenienced. We move on. We choose to let go and move forward.

If I had a penny for every time someone talked bad about me, gossiped behind my back, hurt my feelings and said I’d never make it, I would be on the cover of Forbes magazine as one of the 10 richest people. I would be a billionaire and gladly share the wealth with the haters, naysayers, and doubters.

The opinions of others do not define me. They don’t control my destiny. God does. He is keeping me hidden for a reason. He is perfecting, pruning, and preparing me for greater. All in God’s timing. So, thank you haters. I’m glad about it. I count it all joy. I’m expecting blessings and miracles!

In life we have choices. Stop feeding what’s dead. Dead situations can’t be waken. Choose joy. Live the life YOU want to live. Make it count!

Be blessed! –JD

God Knew We Would Need Strength to Endure and Made Us As Strong As We Are Because He Knew What It Would Take to Be a Mother

A Mother's JobWith all that is going on in this world today, I find that there are never too many times I can speak on the plight of mothers who are silently suffering when faced with adversity and situations not in their control when dealing with conflict between themselves and their children.

Not to add, this was not the first time I heard the story of a mother hurting but in the past weeks, I have seen and heard similar stories I tried to ignore reacting to. And even though at times I can sense people may tire of me speaking about it, I won’t apologize for it. I am a mother and because my heart goes out to them, I feel compelled to be one voice and say something in their defense.

Yesterday I heard yet another sad story of a mother who was distraught almost to the point of tears because of a situation that occurred between her and her children that seemed to have hurt her to the core of her heart. My heart broke. It immediately touched my heart. I sent up a prayer and tried not to think about it. I wrestled with it all day. I couldn’t get it out of mind nor could I sleep. Sat down, got my thoughts together and the words flowed effortlessly. This is what I managed to come up with.

It saddens me and breaks my heart when I hear stories of children who disrespect, verbally, mentally, physically, and emotionally abuse, curse and have no love or respect for their mothers. And believe it’s okay to do so because they feel they are entitled.

A mother’s job is the most underappreciated, underpaid, misunderstood profession. We are full-time employees with duties that last a lifetime. We don’t get a vacation. Motherhood doesn’t start and end the day we give birth. It is a lifetime commitment even when our children are no longer with us. No matter what our children may have done or how young or old they are, we will nurture, guide, advise, comfort, strengthen, forgive, and pray for them. We will put our lives on the line for them. It is our prayers and the prayers of those whose shoulders we stand on that came before us that keeps them. Cherish your Mother. Be grateful.

Yes, we make mistakes because we are human but we don’t use that as an excuse. Many of us do our best to admit our faults, forgive ourselves, and forgive the children who hurt us too. We will never stop loving them no matter what they may do to us. We will never stop being a mother no matter if or when they choose to stop being our children. Yes, they may not have asked to come here, but mothers didn’t ask to raise children who grow up disrespecting and abusing them. Don’t forget who is in charge; God. He will fight our battles.

There are two sides to every story. Choose one. But don’t let it be for your glory. Let God’s will, not your will be done. Mothers are one of God’s greatest gifts on this earth. Be careful how you treat her. You may think life is grand because she’s still here and you think there will always be time to talk to her. But one day God will want her back and she will no longer be available. You will never get the chance to say the things you didn’t say because she will no longer be available. You will never, ever get to see her again.

Let her smell her flowers now and not when it’s too late after she’s gone. Cherish your Mother while you can. She will not be here for long. When God comes for her, she’s not coming back to your home. She will be gone on to glory, residing in her new home.

God knew we would need strength to endure and made us as strong as we are because he knew what it would take to be a mother. God I thank you for blessing me to be a mother. I pray God heals and delivers every family that is going through something. I hope something changes one day soon with how children treat their mothers. I pray the sad, disheartening stories minimize or stop breaking my heart. My prayers are with each and every one of us.

I Love My Mother!

Be blessed! –JD

When You Feel Stuck, Take Off Your Shoes, Pull Them Out of The Cracks. Keep It Moving!

Keep It Moving JoaynnGod never said this life journey would be easy. He promises a life lived for him will be worth it. He says in his word he will never leave us or forsake us. His presence will always be with us.

Thank God for the journey. It was meant for you. God promised to restore, elevate, and promote you. He will teach, discipline, refine and mold you into the person He designed you to be. In all things, God will get the glory.

You will face challenges. Trials and tribulations are to be expected. It’s who you will choose to trust when going through it. God is all-knowing. He knows and understands all that you are going through. Trust him. He will do just what he said he will do.

Praise God in the good and the bad. When you don’t understand what’s happening or it doesn’t make sense, STAND. Give it to God. He is bigger than our problems. Great is our God. No manner of sickness, disease, obstacle or setback can separate us from the love of God. Be encouraged.

Shoes are made for walking but when they are worn, the pain can be unbearable when you walk. Journeys are not meant to break us but to teach us a new way to walk. Like the heel of a shoe in the sidewalk, we may fall between the cracks along the way and get stuck. We either can take the shoe off, pull it out of the cracks and move on, or allow it to defeat us and choose to give up. Don’t be discouraged. Walk in your purpose. Keep it moving!

Be blessed! –JD

Colossians 1:9-12 “For this reason, since the day we heard about you, we have not stopped praying for you. We continually ask God to fill you with the knowledge of his will through all the wisdom and understanding that the Spirit gives, 10 so that you may live a life worthy of the Lord and please him in every way: bearing fruit in every good work, growing in the knowledge of God, 11 being strengthened with all power according to his glorious might so that you may have great endurance and patience, 12 and giving joyful thanks to the Father, who has qualified you to share in the inheritance of his holy people in the kingdom of light.” (NIV)

Today is Fibromyalgia Awareness Day. Take Back Your Voice. Make the Invisible Disability Visible. Wear Purple!

Fibromyalgia Friends Pain WarriorsI’m wearing purple in honor of Fibromyalgia Awareness Day. I am a pain warrior. I’m taking back my voice to raise awareness.

I have a condition but my condition doesn’t have me. I may have been diagnosed with a disease but this disease does not define me.

I may suffer with symptoms of fatigue, chronic pain, insomnia, muscle spasms, loss of concentration, and memory loss to name a few. But you wouldn’t know it when you see me. When you say, “But you don’t look sick” you’re right I don’t. But I am sick. I don’t need to look like it for you to know.

I dress well. I play the part. I don’t look like what I’ve been through. No one can see on the outside the pain I go through. I may be discouraged at times because of a lack of acceptance, support, and belief from doctors, family, and friends. But I don’t let it stop me. I am destined for greatness. This condition will not make or break me.

For every person who suffers with fibromyalgia and chronic pain, I salute you today. Know that you are not alone. We are in this fight together. Be strong. Don’t let the negativity or disbelief of others define you or make you feel ashamed because you know you are sick. As long as you know how you feel, you don’t need to look like it.

Some may never understand your struggle. They don’t need to. Persevere. You are beautiful. No matter how much pain you’re in, do your best to live your best life. You are more than a conqueror.

Today is Fibromyalgia Awareness Day. Join me. You have a voice. Let’s make the invisible disability visible. Take back your voice. Raise awareness to help others better understand this condition. We’re hoping for a cure. When we all join forces, together, we can make a difference.

To My Fellow Fibromyalgia Friends, Chronic Pain Warriors, and Love Ones: Here’s to more pain-free days filled with laughter, joy, and praise! Proudly Wear Purple!

Find an event or call a pain warrior you may know and share your love and support. Or just wear purple.

Be blessed! –JD

Toxic People Can Poison God’s Vision For You. Don’t Let Them. Stay Well. Give Birth To The Vision God Gave YOU!

Give BIrth To The Vision JoaynnShoes with worn heels are painful when you walk. Until a person walk in the same shoes they may never understand the depth of your struggle.

True friends are ones you can count on. They don’t judge. No matter what, they will be there for you and love you through the ups and downs. They will support you and tell you the truth, in love. They will be there for you, always.

When I look over my life I find that I’ve faced many trials often wondering what happened to cause my life to be so difficult at times. And with each fiery trial I faced, I looked for an easy way out. When I couldn’t find the answer to what troubled me, I had no choice but to go to God. And at times, was so relieved to see a glimmer of hope.

None of us are perfect but it can be a struggle when you try to do the best you can assured you are doing what you know will please God. Only to have people turn against you. They will look down on you, gossip about you, and judge you for no reason. Which leads me, at times to question their true intentions. I lose trust in people easily when they hurt me. This is something God is still working on in me. I don’t make any excuses for it. I confess my sins to God. I pray every day for God’s deliverance.

When we fail to take an honest look at ourselves only to judge others, we are doing nothing but hindering our own progress. People will always have an opinion about you and will find any opportunity to place judgment. It is how you will choose to respond to it that will matter.

We see what others do and desire nothing but the best for them. Yet we can’t even embellish the thought when someone constantly criticize or complain. Never once taking time to examine themselves and how they may be contributing to the situation.

To exist in an environment which you have no control can be a challenge. It can also be physically, emotionally, and mentally draining. Your heart tells you to keep trusting God no matter what people say about you. But your mind will try and convince you of how bad the circumstance is only to leave you drained and empty. It may be difficult to look to God. But you have to keep reminding yourself that God is in control. It will take patience, perseverance, and prayer. Keep trusting him.

They say time heal all wounds but what can be most difficult is being able to heal and find forgiveness when hurt by someone you truly love. It can be harder to heal from the hurt of family and friends rather than strangers.

You can be pregnant with possibilities and miscarry at any time when you allow toxic people to poison God’s vision for you. Stay well. Give birth to the vision God gave YOU!

Be blessed! – JD

Genesis 13:14, 15 “The LORD said to Abram after Lot had parted from him, “Look around from where you are, to the north and south, to the east and west. 15All the land that you see I will give to you and your offspring forever. (NIV)

National Day of Prayer 2015 – Prayer Warriors Pray For Peace, Healing, And Restoration For The Nation

National Day of Prayer 2015 APrayer has power. Prayer changes things. “For where two or three are gathered together in My name, I am there in the midst of them” (Matthew 18:20).

In observance of National Prayer Day, as we gather together collectively and individually seeking God’s divine intervention, please take a moment to pray for peace, restoration, healing, the leaders, government officials, those in authority, and every family across the nation everywhere.

This year’s theme: “Lord, Hear Our CryHear the cry and the prayer that your servant is praying in your presence this day” (1 Kings 8:28). Pray according to God’s will that his will, not ours, be done.

With all that is going on, this is a crucial time for our nation. Prayer is needed. We can change the world through our prayers. Pray for everyone. Earnest prayers will have powerful results. God hears the prayers of the righteous. He will answer.

“Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God” (Philippians 4:6). Make a joyful noise. Pray without ceasing.

Be blessed! –JD

1 Timothy 2:1-2 “I urge, then, first of all, that requests, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for everyone– 2 for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness.” (NIV)

Naysayers, Stop Hating and Being Envious. Have a Seat. Get It Together!

Uninvited GuestsToday I decided to step out of my comfort zone and dedicate a simple post to all the naysayers who never have nothing positive or encouraging to say. And would like to share a few words to encourage someone today.

We can become easily discouraged when faced with difficult situations. No matter how many times man says no, God’s yes is the final answer. God knows exactly what we are dealing with every day. He hears the prayers of the righteous. Whatever you’re believing God for, he will answer.

Sometimes to find peace of mind you have to remove yourself from things that serve no purpose. Naysayers, doubters, gossipers, haters are included. Let go of what doesn’t belong. Be at peace.

Naysayers to me are Negative Attitudes Yielding Senseless Attacks Yearning Exclusive Recognition; simply put. They are jealous for no reason. When you encounter someone who has too many reasons to complain about everything and can never see the good in anything, run! They will do everything in their power to make you just as miserable as they are. Remember, misery loves company.

People with negative attitudes serve no good purpose. If they don’t have anything positive to say. Stay away from them. Association brings assimilation. Be careful who you surround yourself with. People who constantly make the worst out of a good situation and focus too much on the negative are not ones you want to surround yourself with.

Pessimists will defeat your purpose, if you let them. When you encounter a naysayer, don’t be intimidated by them. Tell them thank you. Pray for them. Don’t let the actions of others become your standard of living. You are not designed to be like them. Make the best of the situation. You are made to stand out, not fit in.

When you give in to negative thoughts you’ve already lost the battle. Don’t dwell on the negative. Bless those who curse you, even when they persecute you. It doesn’t matter what people say about you. It’s not true. You don’t look like what you’ve been through. Don’t get weary. You’re Winning!

Stop inviting haters to pity parties only to have them extend invitations to more miserable, uninvited guests. Keep your secrets to yourself.

Don’t listen to naysayers. They don’t know you. Whatever they say about you isn’t true. Declare, I am and will be all that God says I am. I am victorious!

Be blessed! –JD

Isaiah 55:11 So shall my word be that goes out from my mouth; it shall not return to me empty, but it shall accomplish that which I purpose, and shall succeed in the thing for which I sent it. (ESV)

God Gave You a Vision of Promise. Never Give Up On Your Dreams. What God Has Planned, It Will Succeed

God Determines Your Destiny JoaynnNo matter what your circumstances are or what happens today, be content in all things. God will supply all your needs. Don’t be discouraged.

God gave you a vision of promise. Don’t ever give up on your dreams. One phone call, one idea, one divine connection can be life changing. The vision is yet for an appointed time. Wait on God. God always keeps his promises. It will surely come.  Believe! It will be fulfilled.

Whatever God starts, he finishes. It’s done. Your situation may seem hopeless. It ain’t over until God says it over. God says it is finished.

Stop giving people permission to control your destiny. Only God determines your destiny. They didn’t call or appoint you. God did. Seek Him.

Say this to yourself and declare every day with me, God will perfect that which concerns me. It won’t always be like this. One day the tides will turn in my favor. God will see me through this.

Be blessed! –JD

Habakkuk 2:3 “For the vision is yet for an appointed time, but at the end it shall speak, and not lie: though it tarry, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry. (KJV)

The Minute You Become a Christian, Act Like One. Don’t Be So Religious Only to Fail at Being Religious Because You Lack Being Spiritual

wpid-img_20150311_085818.jpgI’m just a messenger. When God speaks, I listen. I would rather do what God says and have him be pleased at me than to do what others say and have them be mad at me.

God does not decide on or pick a particular person to hear a word from him. His word is for anybody who will listen. God has a strange way of revealing something he needs you to know. Because after all, we can never understand why God does what he do or how he does it. His word shall go forth.

God uses unsuspecting vessels to send a message. Listen for that small voice when He says something. When we have to think or ask, “Was that about me?” The answer should be “No. But if it touched you in any way maybe it was for you.”

Every day we can expect a visitation from God. When he comes we have to have our house in order. When your house is not in order with God, neither are you. No matter how right you are in all that you do, your wrong becomes your right because you are choosing to just be you. Just because you may have weathered the storm doesn’t mean you did based on your own merit. But God may have sent the storm to bring something to your attention that he may get the glory out of it.

Yes, God blesses us at all times. Yet when we choose to not grow when the storm is over, we miss the more that God has for us. His word says he wants to bless us and bless us more abundantly but he wants us to be obedient. It’s not that he can’t do it but it’s because we won’t let him. Don’t be so religious only to fail at being religious because you lack being spiritual. Change your mindset.

It’s one thing to say you’re a Christian and another when your heart is not right with God. God gave us breath. We can’t make ourselves breathe. Just because you are a religious person, being religious doesn’t make you a Christian. Being religious is when we choose to live a life that honors our relationship with God. We rely on His wisdom. We allow his will, and not ours, be done. We are intimately connected to God and our spirit longs for a deeper relationship with Him. We choose to live to please God and not ourselves.

No matter how well we look on the outside, we have many reasons to deny what’s on the inside of our hearts. Actions speak louder than words. Be careful not to let your actions become idols as a result of your rituals. When you say “I’m a Christian” but don’t act like one, you are merely saying to God, I will act like a Christian sometimes but I won’t be a Christian all the time. I will choose when to act like one.”

Yes we can go to church regularly, we can say our prayers night, day, and all through the day, and we can even worship and praise God with our mouths thanking him for everything. All that is good but…when you choose not to commit to an intimate relationship with God and devote your life to his way of life, you make the mistake of living in vain because you are slowing dying a spiritual death when you choose to live without his intervention.

You are a sinner. You are dead to sin. Through faith in Christ, you can be saved and made whole again. “For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith–and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God–not by works, so that no can boast” (Ephesians 2:8-9). You are spiritually renewed. Admit you need God’s intervention. When you are saved you are born again. The minute you become a Christian, act like one.

Isaiah 29:13 tells us, The Lord says: “These people come near to me with their mouth and honor me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me. Their worship of me is made up only of rules taught by men.” We can know a lot about God but not know God personally. “When we claim to honor God while our hearts are far from him, our worship means nothing. It is not enough to study about religion or even to study the Bible. It is not enough to act religious. Our actions and our attitudes must be sincere. If they are not, Isaiah’s words also describe us (Matthew 15:8, 9).

There’s a saying “Sticks and stones may break my bones but words will never hurt me.” When I was a kid I used to believe this when people and even those I considered family would pick on me or call me names that would hurt my feelings. As I grew older I found some truth in this but believed in my heart that words can hurt more than sticks and stones and should never be the reason why we consciously inflict pain onto others by saying things that are mean, hurtful or not true.

Our decisions, actions, and way of thinking should reflect God’s character so that when people see us they may see Christ in us. And not see in us who we choose to be when people see us. Refusal to see the error in your ways does not excuse the behavior. In fact it only exacerbates it. How many times do you need to know that God is the great I AM THAT I AM? He, not you, will get the glory out of it.

Take a personal inventory of your life and check to see if something is missing on the inside. Is there a void? Is there a hole in your heart that you cannot fill? Do you believe something inside your heart is missing? As sincere as your religion may be, it is not enough to meet the needs of your heart or fill what is missing. Admit to yourself, I need God’s intervention. Go to God. Seek him. Say to him, I cannot do this thing called life by myself. Lord I need your help. God can fill the void. Change the error of your ways. Live a life pleasing to God. Live out the Fruit of the Spirit. God will be pleased.

When you feel the need for God’s intervention in your life, it is then and only then you come to understand your need of God. The moment you are born again, your sins are forgiven and you have a relationship with God. You are spiritually renewed. Old things pass away. A spiritual transformation takes place. You are a new creature in Christ. You are no longer who you used to be. Be the person God created you to be. I pray this blesses someone.

Be blessed! –JD

Matthew 15:8, 9, 11 “These people honor me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me. 9 They worship me in vain; their teachings are but rules taught by men.” 11 “What goes into a man’s mouth does not make him ‘unclean’, but what comes out of his mouth, that is what makes him ‘unclean’ ”.
