About

Mother, daughter, sister, grandmother to Jeremiah and Michai. Pain Advocate. I am One Voice. There’s victory in my smile because I know the Lord will make a way somehow!

Hi! Let me introduce myself. My name is Joy T Darden and I am a lover of God and people. I am what most would not call a professional motivational coach, counselor, or consultant but I am merely a vessel being used by God to inspire, instruct, and influence others to be the best YOU you can be. Simply based on what I’ve learned through my life experiences and my life-long journey with God.

I am an Inspirationalist, Inspirational Writer, Author of Unspoken Testimony Memoir: Secrets of a Southern Girl, Founder and Designer of Jonnay Designs® LLC, and Owner/Operator of jonnaydesigns.com ecommerce online store. I serve on the Hospitality Ministry at Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church in Phoenix, Arizona.

I am a survivor of change at no fault of my own after becoming ill 14 years ago and declared disabled 12 years ago. I became what most call “a victim of circumstance” as the result of an unexpected event in my life. After years of suffering, I found myself wondering what was I to do with my life.

My experiences began to shed light reminding me that my life did not have to end there. It told me that none of this was about me but about God using me to fulfill his purpose. It showed me God had a plan to prosper and not harm me; to give me hope and a future (Jeremiah 29:11). The experiences were all for a reason. It gave me purpose and new passions. It helped shape me into the person I am today.

Since being declared disabled and diagnosed with Fibromyalgia nine years ago, amongst other conditions I suffer with, I am an advocate for those who suffer with this debilitating disease. So if you see many posts on the subject, it is my way of showing support of this cause. I am one voice and my desire is to share knowledge so that others can make an informed decision regarding treatment and care that they may have a greater quality of life.

With the help of God, I’ve managed to overcome the impossible. I’m a survivor. I’m still standing. I am a victor and not a victim of my circumstances!

My greatest desire is to travel the world to share my story with others in spite of the fact my body isn’t equipped. God doesn’t call the equipped, he equips the called. There’s a book I wrote years ago that has been published as of March 9, 2018. Praise God! There are unique multicultural heritage designs and inspirational quotes I created that are now part of unique, personalized design products offered at my online store http://www.jonnaydesigns.com.

Whew! There’s still stuff to do. I have many hopes and dreams. God is not through with me yet. Everything I am believing God for will manifest one day, just as he promised.

God has given me strength to do the impossible in spite of adversity. It is where I finally found my purpose; to inspire others. As such, this blog was created as a way to share inspirational poems, quotes, and sayings that are random, off the top of my head along with thought-provoking messages I live and breathe daily in thought but sometimes find difficult to put on paper or keep to myself. It is a way to express myself and at the same time share my thoughts with others. At times, sharing my love of God our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ with the world. In short, it is my way of inspiring others.

Welcome! Take a seat. You are now traveling along with me on my journey!

Be blessed! –JD

I would like to share some Scriptures with you that the Lord gave me to hold onto in the Storms of Life, I hope you will be as encouraged and uplifted as I am Joaynn when I read them or remember them in the hard times.

Isaiah 43:1-3 – Do not be afraid, for I have ransomed you. I have called you by name; you are mine. When you go through deep waters and great trouble, I will be with you. When you go through rivers of difficulty, you will not drown! When you walk through the fire of oppression, you will not be burned up; the flames will not consume you. For I am the LORD, your God, the Holy One of Israel, your Saviour.”

Jeremiah 29 :11-12 For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the LORD, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.

Lamentations 3: 33 For God doth not afflict willingly nor grieve the children of men.

I’m thankful to have meet you Joaynn, and may you be greatly blessed as you bless others.

Thank you very much for sharing these beautiful set of Scriptures with me. I appreciate it. I also love that you included Jeremiah 29:11. This is one of my most favorite Scriptures that reminds me daily of God’s good and perfect plan when looking at a plaque that sits in my room my Mom gave me as a gift years ago.

I too am thankful for the blessed encounter and to have met you.

May you continue to spread God’s love and blessings as you’ve blessed me.

  10. I thank the Father for overcoming and overwhelming all else in your life.
Let all thanks and praises be given to him in the name and blood of our Lord Jesus Christ ,now and forever,Amen!
Yours is a testimony all believers must rejoice in because we take faith in the promise that verily, there’s nothing created by him which is beyond his control.

He set you on a course and all has been to the glorification of his wonderful name. I know we face things we can’t even begin to explain or describe to folks, I too have been down that lane of almost no return.
The point is, until the assignments on this planes are finished, we cannot and will not be transferred to another. You my beloved is still destined for more service.

I will continue to thank my Father for all he has done and his hands will cradle and rock you always…after all, his words say he is closer to us than our very teeth.

It warms my heart to hear my brethren boldly give all honor of living to the sole creator and author of all fate.
I love what I see here and all the apologize are not necessary dear 🙂 You say what you feel very well and very clear.

    • Thank you my sister for your powerful, heartfelt, gut-wrenching words of affirmation, confirmation, inspiration, and encouragement. It touched my soul.

When you say this, “I know we face things we can’t even begin to explain or describe to folks,” you are absolutely correct. Just this morning I spoke words such as this from my heart to God as I told him people may never understand the depth of our relationship with You or why we do what we do because of You even when faced with controversy or conflict. It’s indescribable and does not require an explanation. Jesus tells me “Abide in me, and I in you” and these simple words drive me to do what I do.

Thank you for stopping by and visiting my blog. Blessings! 🙂

Enjoyed your testimony; may you continue your walk finding strength in God. If you seek him, he will continue to reveal his will for your life. But this can only be done through faith and trust. So continue to listen for his voice and being patience to he speaks then move forward, that is the hardest endurance to accomplish is patience. But if you learn you would start to see this world as God does not not with human eyes. Stay strong!!!

  14. Thank you for liking My Bio page and giving me opportunity to come here and read about your journey. So many people wonder why God “allows” so many bad things to happen to people, but I honestly believe that what other people perceive as being a “bad thing” is in all reality a “good thing” — a wonderful, marvelous, fantastic experience that is God making sure we don’t miss the opportunity to learn and experience all that he has for us. I know for me, that if it weren’t for all those “bad thing” happening in my life, I might never have come to know, treasure, and love God the way I do today. Might you agree?

    • My pleasure! Thank you for the like and for visiting my page and following! I appreciate it. I am now following you. 🙂

I agree with you that bad things really can be good things because what people fail to understand is God allows things to happen to see how much we will trust him. It is within our circumstances we are to glorify him. We are not to look at our circumstances and become a victim to them but instead look to God and give praise unto him. He has a purpose for everything in life. It is to fulfill the divine purpose he has set before us. If only we believe and receive God’s Word as truth. Believing he will do just as he says he will do. As for me, had my life been void of adversity or strife, I believe I would never have come to know God and revere him as deeply as I do. Words cannot express how deeply I love him for bringing me through. He is Sovereign. 🙂

I am overjoyed to know there’s someone like you who also loves God as much as I do. Thank you again. Your words are a god-send. Blessings! -JD

    • Wow. Thank you so much for taking the time to consider me for such a prestigious award. It warmed my heart and put a huge smile on my face this morning.

I gladly accept the award and will give back as noted. I am a person that love giving back to others in acknowledgment of their efforts to inspire, motivate, and bless others with their gift. I believe it is essential to growth and our human development. Not to mention it helps us grow as well as we work to glorify God and fulfill the purpose he has set before us.

This is my first time ever receiving such nomination so give me a little time to digest this and find 15 other bloggers I’d like to give this to since I don’t know very many bloggers here. But I will definitely take a look at it and hopefully fulfill the remaining acceptance requirement by the end of the day.

Thanks again Shaun for the nomination! You inspire.

  16. Hi Joaynn, What was the circumstance you suffered? Yours, Mike

    Like

    • Hi Mike,

The circumstance I suffered was in relation to my health and several conditions I was diagnosed, in addition to changes in my life I had no control over which impacted my ability to sustain. The very things and very people I relied on for provision and I thought were of value, I later learned were valueless. And understood it was only for a season and reasons I may never understand but grateful it existed.

It prompted me to re-evaluate my life and get my priorities in order when I became convinced I was going to leave this earth which helped me learn to appreciate life that much more.

As a result, I can testify to the manifestation of God’s will in my life as I am now a living witness to what God can and will do. Even when we are broken, as I found myself. All while learning to accept the losses and circumstance as a blessing, rather than a curse, that God was preparing me for something greater. And here I am today 🙂

Thanks for asking. I hope this helps. 🙂

      Blessings!

  17. This is a wonderful inspiration of triumph and and an ongoing passion to never give up despite challenges you face. God is with you!! Keep pressing on, claim and shout the victory in Christ Jesus for the battle has already been won! The devil IS a liar.

I am not one to dig into grammatical errors or typos because I make them myself. I will correct them if I see them but the point is to get the message out. People who seek knowledge and encouragement will see past it simply because God is feeding them the Living Word through us. Remember that there were biblical leaders who had speech issues and such but what stood out was the POWER of God Who gave them words to speak.

Glory be unto His name. Hallelujah!!

Let your light shine for all the world to see and allow The Lord to use to to touch others.

    God bless!

Thank you for ministering to my spirit today. God places unsuspecting people in unsuspecting places at the right time. I thank him for placing you in my life here on this day at this moment in time. Glory! Praise be to God! Hallelujah!
