If You Know Your Vision Is From God Walk in It, Even If You Didn’t Ask For It.

Vision of Promise JoaynnWhat do you do when one of the most difficult challenges you face is keeping the faith when God gives you a vision you clearly did not ask for that completely agrees with his Word, and no matter how much you do your best to honor his request, nothing works out as you would like?

Do you persevere and press on until something happens or do you give in to the lies of the enemy and give up? What do you do? If you had to answer this question, what would be your answer?

Well, when I asked myself this question at a time I was going through what seemed like an endless journey of defeat, I wanted to give up. I thought of the many times when nothing work out as I plan and it felt like I failed to glorify God even though I clearly know the vision is from Him. Because this feeling I have loving what I do that I feel I’ve been called to do won’t go away, no matter how hard I fight against it and want to give up when nothing is happening as I would like on any given day. I can’t sleep and I’m always thinking about doing something when it concerns the vision God gave me for my business.

I’m very passionate about what I do when designing products with godly advice that instruct, inspire, and influence others. And for the most part I feel in my heart it’s not something that needs to be done but is something I need to do because I’ve been called to do it! I didn’t ask God for this vision, he gave it to me. I find myself praying every day asking him what is it I am to do in response to the vision when I’m confused and don’t have any answers. He sends the answer, not what I’m looking for but what he knows and already promised shall be done.

I never try to make things happen on my own. With every step I take, I seek God’s guidance and advice before moving to the next level. But I must be honest with you. I can get so frustrated when I see the many ideas and organizations offering advice, help, or webinars to help grow your business and feel it clearly is not for me. It’s overwhelming. Yet will I trust God through it all, even when it doesn’t feel right.

It can be so easy to give up, especially when the devil begins to play tricks on your mind trying to make you believe you are unworthy and can’t be used by God. Every day he comes at us with the same old tricks, same old stuff, on different days to destroy our hopes and dreams we know God has already given us. Nothing he does should surprise us and should never be a reason why we let him steal a thing from us. If God brought us to it, you best believe he will bring us through it. Believe. Won’t he do it!

Oftentimes we can be so busy looking for the right answers we believe are in alignment with what “we want” to find success and will miss the answer God already sent confirming his promise of what he already knows we will have. Faith is the key that unlocks the door to God’s power and paves the way to miracles and blessings! Walk in it. Go get your blessing!

Busyness is a lifestyle and a choice. Be careful to not be so busy you don’t have time to slow down and enjoy the life God promised you. Yes, delayed is never denied but in our busyness we can sometimes delay our own destiny to the point we miss our final destination. Many times answers can be right in front of you.

There will come times in our lives when we cannot see God in anything and feel as though he is not there, especially when our circumstances are at a crossroad when filled with hopelessness and despair. We mustn’t give up or give in to the enemy because God is always with us, and will never leave us or forsake us.

Although it is easier said than done to not give up and at times can be so difficult to do when looking to the right and to the left at our circumstances, if we were to change our mindset, renew our hearts, and redirect our thoughts to the Word of God, we will possess enough in all things through what God has already given us; abounding grace. “And God will generously provide all you need. Then you will always have everything you need and plenty left over to share with others” (2 Corinthians 9:8).

And remember, he always keeps his promises. He is a promise keeper, a heart fixer, a mind regulator, a way maker. He will make a way out of no way. Trust him. Keep the faith. We cannot do what we think needs to be done with things that are not in our control. We must give it to God. Leave it there. He will work it out for the greater good.

God is in control. He can do anything but fail. He is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all we can ask or think. Stay prayed up. Read and meditate on the word every day, without ceasing. Because as soon as God opens the door we know no man can shut, the devil will seize the moment to put his best first foot forward in the crack only to be stomped on, rebuked, bound, and placed under our footstool! His mission aborted and canceled! No weapon formed against us shall prosper.

God gave you a vision of promise. Don’t ever give up on your dreams. One phone call, one idea, one divine connection can be life changing. The vision is yet for the appointed time. Wait on God. Believe. It will surely come.

God is the God of impossible. No matter what we are going through or how impossible our situation looks on any given day, trust God believing he can and will make a way out of no way. Believe. It shall be done. God said it, I believe it that settles it!

Be blessed! – JD

Have You Ever Had This Type of Conversation with God? Confession of a Broken Heart

wpid-img_20150104_215704.jpgPlease forgive me for this long unusual post. I have lots of questions and I need some answers. Have you ever had a conversation like this with God? Having a pity party? Do you ever find yourself so angry you don’t know what to do? You’re angry at the world and at God because of what you keep going through? You shout out and ask, “God what do you want from me!!??”

People keep talking bad about and saying mean things to me. They expect me to be perfect because I’m a Christian. They expect me to take charge just because I’m a mother. Shoot, I’m doing my best on top of having to deal with my own personal struggles. They expect me to be normal when my “once normal” is no longer normal. They expect me to do the right thing when I don’t want to. I don’t feel like being humble. I don’t want to please people or listen to the lies they keep filling in my head. I just want the voices in my head to go away.

Why is it I feel I am always the one that need to live up to everyone else expectations? What about my expectations? Why must I be the only one that have to live up to the expectations of others simply because I’m a Christian? What about me? What about my feelings? Do you ever think about all the stuff I’ve been through? Have you ever considered the pain, devastation, confusion, stress I’ve endured? How can you be so selfish? I put on airs. You don’t have a clue. Do you ever think about how things are affecting me? You don’t know what I am going through.

Why do I always have to be a priority for others but when I need them to be a priority for me they keep finding excuses and blame things on me? Isn’t accountability a two-way street? What happened to do unto others as you would have them do unto me? Why does it seem like I am the only one trying to do the right thing but the minute I want to do the wrong thing, in the eyes of others it’s the wrong thing. Can’t people just let me be? Why does it feel like everyone is always picking on me?

Since no one else seems to be listening to what I have to say in my own defense, God I have to tell it to you because I know you’re always listening. I’m not even sick and tired of being sick and tired anymore. I’m just sick and tired. I don’t want to feel this way anymore. I just want to go with the flow and hope it works like it seems to be working for everyone else. Wouldn’t it be easier to just be my old self? No….I already know. I can’t because I’m a peculiar person. I’ve been picked out to be picked on. Devil please leave me alone!

God, the devil is trying his best to convince me that I made the wrong choice when I gave my life to you. He’s trying to make me believe the wrong thing is the right thing I want to do. He keep asking me, “Why did you choose to be a Christian? From what I can tell you ain’t winning?” Every day I have to fight against his lies. Sometimes even though I know it’s not the truth, I feel like he may know what he’s talking about. He keeps coming at me because he knows I’m a Christian. I know who I belong to. The devil is a lie and the truth ain’t in him! Go seek dry places!

Lord, please forgive me. I feel like I keep failing you. In the eyes of so many people, I am not right no matter what I do. They keep judging me. They keep trying to make me miss my blessing. I hurt. My heart aches. I’m in so much pain. I’m not like Jesus where I can put aside my fears and forgive quickly. I know there is no excuse for me saying this, but since you already know what I’m thinking I can’t help but to be honest. I am human. I’m fallible. My heart is broken in pieces. It’s so shattered I can’t even find many of the pieces. How am I going to put it back together when I can’t get together myself?

I know this is not about me. This is all about you. No matter what I see, I MUST give glory to you. God, I am trying. I feel lost. I can’t stop the tears falling from my eyes. I feel this life is too hard. How many times must I keep losing my way? How many times must I humble myself when people keep hurting me? At times I can’t see you in anything? God, I have to release this so I can feel better. I don’t like this feeling. I know this will not be like this forever….but.

Don’t I get a chance to feel some type of way when people abuse me, persecute me, lie on me, and misjudge me? Am I supposed to accept everything people do to me just because of who I am? Just because I’m a Christian? Even Jesus cried out to You about the ninth hour in a loud voice and said, “Eloi, Eloi, lama sabachthani?” – which means, “My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?” (Matthew 27:46). Even though he knew for certain he was innocent. He had done nothing wrong to lose the favor of God. Yet you still loved your own Son. I feel the same way. And I know you love me. This is the first-time I have ever done this. I never give away my secrets. Exposing myself before the world. I feel so naked. I’m not ashamed. Somebody needs to hear this.

Like Jesus, this was my deepest expression of anguish I felt that caused me to be separated from you, my Father. And I felt horrible. But I am so thankful Jesus suffered in my place so that I would never experience eternal separation from You. Isaiah 53:4-5 tells us, “he bore our bore our griefs and carried our sorrows; that he was wounded for our transgressions, and bruised for our iniquities; that the chastisement of our peace was laid upon him; that by his stripes we are healed.”

Jesus died in our place, on our own account, that he might bring us near to God. Yes, even Jesus expressed His feelings of abandonment as God placed the sins of the world on Him. And because of that had to “turn away” from Jesus. It was the only time in all of eternity he was experiencing separation from God. Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law by becoming a curse for us (Galatians 3:13).

Now that I’ve gotten that off my chest. I feel better. I had to tell it. Something tells me I’m in the final stages of delivery. My God, I feel the birthing pains before delivery. People can treat me and do to me what they want to. I will do what you say in your Word to do, “But I tell you who hear me: Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, pray for those who mistreat you” (Luke 6:27-28).

Lord, I may not understand but accept why Jesus felt the way he did. I may get discouraged and feel like I’ve lost the battle. I refuse to curse my situation. The battle is not mine, it’s the Lord. Devil, you came to destroy. I’m not having it! I am a child of God. You can’t steal my joy!

It won’t always be like this. I trust God-believing in his provision. I will live by his power every day. That I may break the cycle of failure. Forgiveness doesn’t mean you forget what a person has done. It means you choose not to be reminded of the hurt in order to move forward.

Be blessed! -JD

Matthew 18:21-22 “Then Peter came up and said to him, “Lord, how often will my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? As many as seven times?” 22 Jesus said to him, “I do not say to you seven times, but seventy-seven times.” (ESV)

Simple Words of Wisdom

After suffering a significant number of headaches in addition to acute flare ups of Fibromyalgia symptoms the past few weeks, today is the first day in a long time I’ve managed to collect my thoughts with a few random sayings and feel well enough to transfer a few words of wisdom from my head to the place you are now reading in order to create a post. Each saying is not in any particular order and came off the top of my head. Thought I’d share before I lay down my head. Enjoy!

wpid-textgram_1386018284.pngNew you. New attitude. Make it that when people see you they’re confused. Throw them off when you react differently; they will see the new you and no longer see the “old me.”

Stop relying on people to embrace or validate you. They may say or do things to hurt you. You’re beautiful in God’s eyes. His word is truth. Love those who hate you. Bless those who curse you. Be good to those who despise you. For those who don’t like you say, “God bless you.” No matter how people may treat you, God will take care of you. They’re not in control of your destiny. With God on your side, you win.

As seasons change, is the same reason God allows seasons to change. God uses circumstances to speak to you. The devil is a liar! God got you! Lot’s wife looked back when told not to and turned to a pillar of salt. Don’t look back on the past only to kill your future. Press forward.

Be careful who you surround yourself with. The devil comes in sheep’s clothing. Everybody that’s praying with you ain’t praying for you. Satan will find his way into any situation to gain victory. You don’t have to wait until the battle is over to shout. With God fighting your battles, you’ve got the victory!

Ephesians 4:22-24 “You were taught, with regard to your former way of life, to put off your old self, which is being corrupted by its deceitful desires; 23 to be made new in the attitude of your minds; 24 and to put on the new self, created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness.” (NIV)

God Blesses Me. I Can’t Help But Bless Others Too. Readers, Thank you!

Proverbs 18:4 “Wise words are like deep waters; wisdom flows from the wise like a bubbling brook.” (NLT)

Proverbs 18In the heart of the believer, speech from the wise is like a stream that overflows with blessings. From one who continuously supplies words of spiritual wisdom and knowledge, communicating and ministering grace to those who will hear. They are a blessing.

Every day as I sit and reflect on how good God has been to me. There is never a time I forget to give God thanks no matter what may be troubling me. First thing I do before my feet hit the ground is give praise, honor, glory, and thanks to Him. I don’t do anything on a whim. Although there are times when I find it difficult to get out of bed, there is never a time I fail to give thanks even while lying in bed. Every moment of the day I give God praise. No matter what I go through, I praise His Holy Name.

Many times, my writings are inspired by God. I can’t help when most of the time I have something to say, it is about God. Sometimes after reading the great writings of others I have a desire to write about something different like them, other than what you see. But I realize I am not them. I am gifted differently.

When I set my mind and release my thoughts to voice recordings in preparation to create a post, I’m always reminded of this the most, “A gift opens the way for the giver and ushers him into the presence of the great” (Proverbs 18:16). My gifts will make room for me. I don’t rush what it is I need to do before God tells me. Nor do I desire to be like anyone else. I use my gifts wisely.

There are times, for days or weeks, I may not have a thing to say. However, I don’t rush a thing. I stay humble and meek and wait patiently. I wait on God to lead me. I take the opportunity to share my thoughts on that given day, with all the strength he gives me.

Oftentimes people ask me, “Where do you get the stuff you write? Does it come from a book or somebody else thoughts?” I tell them, “No it comes from my own thoughts.” Many times I can read a sermon I’ve scribbled from any given Sunday and use that as my guide. To put together what I desire to say after collecting my thoughts.

My thoughts in my writings come from various places, and wherever I may find inspiration. But the things I have to say are derived first and foremost before, during, and after daily meditation. My cousin calls it impartation (smile), I call it anointed. I can see one word from a blog post or a comment on social media and I turn it into a message. I can take knowledge or an event from a mess of my life and turn it into a message.

I often get a number of compliments on things I share. People say they look forward to reading what I have to say. Even when there are times I miss a day. And while there are times when I feel, how can I inspire others when I cannot inspire me? My readers, family, and friends are the ones who inspire me. While I am honored, I never take credit. God gets all the credit. It’s all God. He gives me the strength and power to share his love. If only one person is blessed by my message, I am grateful to God for allowing me to be a blessing.

While I don’t have a spiritual mentor or a godly counselor right now, I have all I need guiding my spiritual growth. The Word of God, daily reading, mediation, and teachings from my Pastor at church guides my spiritual growth. I work every day to share wisdom, inspiration, encouragement, and motivate others. I look to God for godly wisdom. And when the inspiration hits me, I write a simple or long thought about the goodness of God as he leads me.

So when you visit, whenever I may have something to say that day, God is the reason for many of the things I have to say. And although the majority of what you see is about God.  It’s because I cannot help but to always give glory to and honor God.

God is so good to me. God sends people like you to bless me. When you read thoughts I’ve created, it’s my way of sharing with the world God’s wisdom and just how good He has been to me. Your visits mean the world to me. I’m thankful for every opportunity to share with you the gift I’ve been given. Thank you for being a blessing!

God Blesses Me. I Can’t Help But Bless Others Too. Readers, Thank you!

Be blessed! –JD

Don’t Hate… Celebrate and Congratulate!

Do you ever think about why people do what they do? Why do they choose to like or not like you? Or even why do most people have hidden agendas or ulterior motives that are not in your best interest but only that which serves best for their interest? Yet, God’s agenda is for your greater good. He loves you forever, for good.

People will come and go. They will change their minds like the weather. They are fickle and fair-weathered. God doesn’t change his mind. He is the same yesterday, today, and forever. His Word doesn’t change. It will stand forever.

For the past few weeks, I have been in deep thought asking myself questions such as this. In response to people I have encountered who do not share the same bliss. I’m happy and content with the things God is showing me, even when trouble surrounds me. And I’ve decided I can’t let fear of the unknown rule my life, because of negativity or unforeseen circumstances that surround my life. I’m still happy because of it. I choose to be thankful as I walk in it.

I have embarked on a different chapter in my life that I never thought would happen given the circumstances I continue to face. I was so frustrated with all the work it took to get this life-long project completed and my daughter says to me, “Anything worth having will be hard.” Persevere; #‎ButGod. God has been moving me in a direction that I know is only of his doing to make my dreams and the vision he placed inside me come true. I’m grateful to God for my future. Thankful He knew.

When God puts something in your spirit instructing you to move, you can’t sleep, eat, or think until it’s done. Just as God will keep prodding you until it’s finished and done. This is where I am today, but sadly I am having trouble understanding or accepting the fact that others choose not to celebrate with me. And instead of congratulating, they are envious and are not afraid to show their true feelings to me.

But I’m not bothered by it, none other. I still love all my sisters and brothers. I thank God for those who left and didn’t believe in me. I give all glory to God, who is elevating me. Thanks to the haters from the itty bitty naysayer committee. Their doubt didn’t stop my destiny. Glory!

Now don’t get me wrong. I still am having some reservations about this entire process. There are times I find myself reflecting on the effects of the order of events. And how overwhelmed I am when trying to comprehend the depth of how I will manage to handle things. It’s a big change. God is taking me to new levels, and as such, new devils. Nonetheless, I’m excited and delighted because of it. God’s got his hands in it.

I am a woman of deep faith but sometimes I struggle with motives and agendas of others. When I share how good God has been to me in spite of trouble. I can see their response to the good news and it will show in their facial expression, their tone of voice confirming their objection. Faces that have no name, but the negativity in their words identify who they are just the same. And in most cases, their actions will bring them to shame.

I may get a little disappointed with how others choose to respond. But I refuse to let it take me off course, even when others lack the ability to celebrate my growth. All I can do is speak the truth about God. And the wonderful blessings and miracles only he can perform. The one thing I am assured of is this. God is orchestrating every event. And no matter how others may view or not embrace the change. It’s all part of God’s master plan. It’s a perfect plan from the master planner. God is handling it. I know what God has set before me and I will embrace it graciously. I thank God for the blessing.

Misery loves company. The enemy delights having you put your life on hold when trying to convince you his plan is better. Trust God. His plan is greater. Even if no one ever believes in you, believe in yourself. Don’t let the doubts of others take you off course of your assignment. God promised it. Don’t let your past dictate your fate. God knows your past. He’s the master of your fate. He’ll erase your mistakes in the past. What you do for Christ will last.

Sometimes it can be hard to understand when loved ones or those near and dear to you don’t celebrate or will ever approve of you.  But you know it is alright because God approves of you. No matter how trapped you may feel or what problems or hardships you may face. Know that God can minister to your deepest needs. Have faith. When things don’t go as you planned, it will work for the greater good according to God’s plan.

God will expose a distorted mind with the wrong motives and a hidden agenda. God’s plan cannot be thwarted. With God there is no hidden agenda. When people leave don’t ever blame yourself why they left you. It wasn’t you. Sometimes God has to move you out of a season for the best reason because he knows what is best for you.

I decided long ago much of worldly behavior is off limits to me. My mind is transformed. I don’t conform to this world. I make decision wisely. Take it from me. Promises are made to not be broken. God’s promise is his word. It’s never broken. What he says, he will do. From beginning to end he’s with you.

I’ve learned God will not bring you to it and not see you through it. It will work for the greater good even when others can’t see the good in it. Just because you’ve arrived don’t look down on others who are still traveling. We all have a river to cross while traveling. Just because you’re better, don’t minimize someone else joy or pain. You never know when you will have to go down that road of sadness to find joy again. You never know when you will have to come back to where you’ve been. When others are bitter and negative, pray for them.

There’s a time and season for everything. Events in our lives are not a coincidence. God allows everything to happen for a reason. So, when others choose not to celebrate or embrace your new beginnings. Thank them anyway because this is just the beginning.

To get something you never had, you have to go through where you’ve never been. And persevere through some things that will lead to new beginnings. Not everybody will celebrate you. Or be there when you’re going through. Some may only want to know you when God elevates you. Discern truth. Don’t get weary in well doing. Don’t give up. For in due season you will reap a harvest if you faint not. Hope in the Lord. He shall renew your strength. Trust in God. He is your refuge and strength.

And for those listening or reading this, change your mindset and your actions too.

Don’t hate… celebrate and congratulate others in the work God has called them to do.

Be blessed! -JD

1 John 3:16-18 This is how we know what love is: Jesus Christ laid down his life for us. And we ought to lay down our lives for our brothers and sisters. 17 If anyone has material possessions and sees a brother or sister in need but has no pity on them, how can the love of God be in that person? 18 Dear children, let us not love with words or speech but with actions and in truth.”

Consider Failure a Life Lesson

Fail Road

Fail Road (Photo credit: fireflythegreat)

Failure is a symptom of unrealistic expectation. It is not a person. If we set our hearts and minds on God, He’s real. His Word does not fail nor will it return void.

Oftentimes we confuse the idea of failure with the reality of our perception when things don’t go the way we expected. While it is true we all have habits or some false sense of perception we deal with that may present obstacles to getting where we need to in life. We must be cognizant of the role we play in making it happen and the role God expects us to play to trust that he will allow it to happen in our life.

If we took a moment to think about what kind of life we would have if we sat endlessly waiting for something to happen. What do you think would happen? If we lacked effort in taking the initiative to be held accountable to do things that would please God. How else would we be able to please God? We make the mistake of expecting God to bless us in his mercy and goodness towards us. And find ourselves frustrated when we think he has failed us. We then blame him when things do not turn out as WE expected. When in fact it really may be exactly what God expected.

To set the expectation that others are to assume what we are thinking and are conscious of what we need, is not in alignment with God’s will. We must not assume others know what it is we don’t’ have and what it is we need just because we don’t have. Does it mean others are supposed to assume what you are thinking? Based on the assumption they knew what you needed and be held responsible for what it is you were lacking because they know what you are lacking. More so, what if you didn’t take the initiative to help yourself but expected others to help you because they knew you needed help? And you expected them to do what it was you failed to do in the absence of calling and asking for help.

When we fail to take responsibility in the part we play, failure will be prevalent in our relationships when we hold others accountable for our mistakes. It will diminish our relationship with them. We also will hurt our relationship with God. God is a Good God. He will do it anyway. He will clean up our mistakes.

God helps the helpless. And will help us overcome when in despair. In all things we are not able to help ourselves but God’s help is available to everyone who seek him in prayer. He will give us strength to do things we are willing to do that may seem impossible. He will make all things possible. But we must be responsible.

God does not expect us to do everything but he does desire we do some things for ourselves. Otherwise, why would we need his help if we totally depended on ourselves? On our own we are helpless and with difficulty we cannot operate alone in this thing called life. With God’s help we can. God helps the helpless. He is the bread of life.

God expects us to do things that please him. But we must be held accountable for our actions and stop playing the victim. God wants your all. He doesn’t want you to put the blame on others but wants you to walk before Him and be blameless when you fall.

God requires our faithfulness in our service and desires we use the gifts and talents he blessed us with. Make use of your gifts and talents to enrich the lives of others instead of waiting on others to make a life for you in it. God will get the glory when you do. He will reward you.

God desires you to be the answer and not depend on others for an answer to a life you feel you may have failed because you chose not to answer. Pay attention. Don’t choose to become a victim because you denied God’s provision. When you take matters into your own hands, don’t complain when others fail to do what you assumed they would do. Not realizing God was there to do what he promised he would do. Or get mad when you could have easily taken a stand to do for yourself and looked to God from whence cometh your help.

Demonstrate God’s love and compassion when helping others. Help yourself too. But don’t get angry or disappointed out of your own selfish ambition when others fail you. Don’t allow selfish motives to define the reason you make assumptions regarding the expectations of others. Be God’s mouthpiece, help yourself, encourage and help one another.

When you are called to do things you may not feel like doing, do them without effort as they will become a part of you. Make a decision to please God in all you do. Because God created you to be a blessing to others as he blesses you. God expects your obedience and your follow through.

God orders our steps. He leads us in the paths of righteousness For His name’s sake. We may not understand everything. Let God lead the way. And follow the path he designed for you today.

One of the greatest things in life can be found in failure. It can be for your own good. Failures demonstrate God’s grace and his love.

Therefore, make a declaration. Accept failure as a life lesson. Don’t blame others but take responsibility for your actions. Let God have his way.  Trust God.  Don’t let your failures keep you from serving him.  Thank God for the blessing.

Consider failure a life lesson.

Be blessed! -JD

Proverbs 16:2-3,9All a person’s ways seem pure to them, but motives are weighed by the Lord. 3 Commit to the Lord whatever you do,  and he will establish your plans. 9 In their hearts humans plan their course, but the Lord establishes their steps.” NIV

Praise the Lord!

Good morning! Good afternoon! Good evening wherever you are today.

Yesterday is over. It’s a new day. Today is not your yesterday.
Be determined, steadfast, committed in your spiritual walk today.
Let your heart not be weary. Let God have his way. Make a declaration today.
Lord, we need you. Show us the way.

God brought us back at the appointed time to the appointed place on this day.
God’s in the blessing business today!
Praise the Lord for the gift of life. Your gift will make room for you.
God will send you before great. Glorify God. Seek Him in all you do.

The enemy sits waiting to kill, steal, and destroy.
Don’t let him steal your joy.
God’s got a blessing with your name on it.
Declare, “I’ve got the victory. I’m claiming it!”
God promised. God said it. I believe it. That settles it. Go get your blessing.

Praise the Lord!

Be blessed! -JD

Habakkuk 2:2-3 Then the Lord answered me and said: “Write the vision And make it plain on tablets, That he may run who reads it. 3 For the vision is yet for the appointed time: But at the end it will speak, and it will not lie. Though it tarries, wait for it: Because it will surely come, it will not tarry.” NKJV

Count It All Joy!

It’s a good day!
God is in the blessing business every day.
These words come straight from my heart.
I’m excited. And I’m led to say.
God has a supernatural blessing coming your way.

There’s nothing the enemy can do.
No matter what he thinks he’s stolen from you.
Whatever you have lost, God will restore back to you.

God’s Word is evidence. He promised. He is faithful.
God will do just as he says he will do. He’s gracious.
Wear the full armor of God. Take up the cross.
God will restore all that you’ve lost.

Life may not be what you want it to be.
But where you are now is right where God needs you to be.
Let God use you that his purpose may be fulfilled.
Even though you may have gone through what seemed rough the past few years.

When troubled and pressed on every side.
Don’t look to the left or to the right.
Look to God from whence cometh your help.
God will make every wrong right.
He will make every failure success.
God loves you. You’re blessed.

You may have had trials.
Suffered for a little while and made some mistakes.
God can still use you.
He’s God of all grace.

When God allows something to happen that you didn’t want to happen.
He’s trying to remove the thing in life you think is bigger than Him.
And he won’t let that happen.
Rejoice! God is love.
You’re a beacon of light sent from heaven above.

The closer you are to God, the closer you are to your blessing.
There’s a lesson to be learned in every trial and testing.
Cling to your faith, hope, desires, and prayers.
Know that God will never leave you. He’s always there.

You have peace with God.
You’re reconciled with him.
There is no more hostility between you and him.
There is nothing blocking your relationship with him.

Hope for today no matter the strife.
Today is not yesterday. You’ve been given brand new life.
You’re on your way back.
Not because of you, but because God’s got your back.
He will never fail you.

It’s a new day.
God is in the blessing business every day.
Speak deliverance, increase, healing on your health, in relationships, and your finances.
Declare and decree supernatural power of God’s blessing.

Just hold on.
A breakthrough is coming your way!
Get ready for your miracle. It’s on the way.

God said it. I believe it. That settles it.
God’s got a blessing with your name on it.

Count it all joy!

Be blessed! –JD

James 1:2-5 “My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials, 3 knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience. 4 But let patience have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing. 5 If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him.

What Does It Mean To Be A Mother?

My mom asked me the other day, “What does it mean to be a mother?” I didn’t have a word to say. I couldn’t answer.

My response was “Dead silence on the other end of the telephone.” I couldn’t think of an answer because I was in a zone. I was tired and sleepy but after I hung up. I started thinking and here is what I came up with as an afterthought. But before I enlighten you, I must say this to you. The words I share below is what I’m reminded of what I learned from my mother. “What it means to be a mother.”

“Being a mother is “unspeakable” joy. It is a special gift and a blessing from God above. It is being chosen by God. His love is unconditional. It means knowing you are loved. You will fulfill the plan he designed for you. To raise the children he’s gifted to you. His grace and mercy will carry you through. It is God’s favor upon you.

Being a mother means having a humble spirit. Humble yourself and not get weary. For, if you faint not in due season you will reap a reward. It’s all God!

It means to show love and patience to your children. And teach them the goodness about God our Father. It is to prepare them for what’s to come. To teach them God’s Word that will help them overcome. It is to grow in grace. No matter the obstacles you may face. God will give you wisdom and knowledge to fulfill your role.  To be the best mother you can be as you travel the “motherhood” road.

Being a mother is to know when you tell your children this, they are assured of this: God is there for you. No matter what you may go through. Carry these words of wisdom with you. “The road may get rough and the going may get tough. And the hills may be hard to climb. But I’ve decided to make Jesus my choice. No greater love will I ever find.

Carry these words in your heart. And from it, never depart. Bless the Lord at all times. Let his praise continuously be in your mouth. His love is true love. He loves you without a doubt.”

After reflecting on this, I couldn’t help but think of my mother and the life she blessed me with. As I am led to say this:

Being a mother can mean many things. But the one thing that came to mind, where I didn’t think twice, one certain quality that exemplifies my mother…“Sacrifice.”

It is to make the sacrifice to raise our children that will go beyond what we do for ourselves. Knowing they are helpless and cannot care for themselves. In time we will wonder how could we ever depart from this being God sent as a blessing? When we are given an opportunity to learn and teach them godly lessons.

We are kind, loving, generous, and unselfish. We are selfless and full of compassion. Our love is unconditional. No strings attached. We are passionate and affectionate. We nurture. We do our best to be a role model. In order that our children may live lives free of worry and drama.

We love our children more than anything in life. No matter the cost or sacrifice. We will go to the ends of the earth and lay down our life for them. We will do the best we can to protect them. We will not allow anyone to bring harm to them. If someone tries to hurt our child, we will stop the enemy in his tracks. We will go out of our way to let them know we got their back. With God, we will make sure their needs are met. And will be confident he will handle it.

We will put our lives on hold so that we are available, no matter the reason. We will embrace the precious life God has given us, no matter the time or season. The love we have for our children will be etched in our hearts. They are one part; of two human beings. They will bring new life and new meaning. We can’t imagine life without them.

Being a mother means we will wear many hats. That will serve a different purpose in many aspects. We will guard our children’s feelings and teach them to be wise. We will guide their footsteps in every decision that may be unwise. We will instill the love of God in their hearts. That they may grow up and never depart. From his Word or what they have been taught.

Yes, we may have imperfections and have made some mistakes. We have and will fail you on occasion. But we want to make sure you don’t make the same mistakes. As we try our best to guide and lead you. So you may avoid what we’ve been through. We may set standards that may provoke you from time to time. With bitterness and anger, even rebellion when you fall out of line. But we do this only because we want what’s best for you. We love you.

It is our responsibility to help shape and mold you into honorable human beings God designed you to be. That you may grow up to have good character, sound moral judgment, respect, and dignity. And you may have strong values and integrity.

What does it mean to be a mother? Simply put. It is love, wisdom, and the sacrifice of our life, that our children may have a better life. God placed us in your life that we may be a blessing to lead and guide you. To the life God has designed for you. That will lead to your destiny. Thank God for the blessing.

Mothers are special. They are a treasured memory. Honor, respect, and cherish the memories. No matter what you’ve been through. God sent them as angels to guide and keep watch over you. Don’t wait for Mother’s Day to honor your mother. Let everyday be a day you tell them that you love them. Mothers are one of God’s greatest gifts. Love them with all your heart. Handle your Mother with tender loving care. Keep her close and near to your heart.

Be blessed! -JD
