Devil, Check Yourself Before You Wreck Yourself. You Have Been Warned. No Weapon Shall Prosper. I’m Covered By the Blood!

wpid-img_20150311_091226.jpgGod is leaning in my direction. Favor is all around me. I won’t let nothing stand in the way of making me miss my blessing.

The other day was a day of pure havoc. It started off worse than I expected. Everything I thought could go wrong did, without my expecting it. The enemy came in like a raging storm. Testing my faith and trying my patience. I may have been frustrated, overwhelmed, even shed a few tears. It didn’t stop me. I persevered.

The devil came attacking me from the north, south, east and west. But I wasn’t having it! I refused to look to the north, south, east or west. I looked to the hills from whence cometh my help. I told him, devil, you better check yourself before you wreck yourself. I let him know who my driver was. You won’t wreck me! God is my pilot, not my co-pilot. I ain’t doing the driving.

I said, “Devil you will not steal my joy! I’m covered by the blood of Jesus. God told me to tell you, I can do all things through Christ Jesus who strengthens me. I said to him, “God got me!”

He even tried to make me cry but my tears would only well in my eyes. He didn’t have a clue. He still don’t understand. I made him look like a fool.  The devil couldn’t break me. I’m still standing. No matter what comes at me, I let God do the driving. So devil, you might want to think twice about coming at me tomorrow. No weapon formed against me shall prosper!

Thank you Lord, I made it through. It worked out for the greater good. There’s nobody greater than my God. I give all glory to God!

God you’re my portion and my strength. I will cast my cares upon you. God I love and adore you. No matter what happens today I will worship and praise you.

What can wash away my sin? Nothing but the blood of Jesus. What can make me whole again? Nothing but the blood of Jesus!!

Be blessed! –JD

Romans 3:23-26 “For everyone has sinned; we all fall short of God’s glorious standard. 24 Yet God freely and graciously declares that we are righteous. He did this through Christ Jesus when he freed us from the penalty for our sins. 25 For God presented Jesus as the sacrifice for sin. People are made right with God when they believe that Jesus sacrificed his life, shedding his blood. This sacrifice shows that God was being fair when he held back and did not punish those who sinned in times past, 26 for he was looking ahead and including them in what he would do in this present time. God did this to demonstrate his righteousness, for he himself is fair and just, and he declares sinners to be right in his sight when they believe in Jesus.” (NLT)

I’m in the Best Relationship Ever! I’m Never Getting a Divorce. I am in Love With Jesus!

wpid-img_20150212_151310.jpgI’m in an exclusive relationship with the Lord. It is the best relationship I’ve ever had. I am so in love with God. I wouldn’t change it for the world! I’m never getting a divorce. I am in it for eternity.

I get to talk to God every day. I can call him on the mainline at any time and his line is never busy. He’s always listening. He doesn’t send me to voicemail when I call or fail to return my calls. He answers my prayers each time I call.

I can tell him anything and don’t ever have to worry about him gossiping about, judging, or hating me. I’m his treasured possession (Dt 7:6). He cares for me. What a friend I have in Jesus. He’s my best friend. I am very privileged.

God never, ever breaks my heart. When I hurt, he heals my heart. He never makes me cry. When I cry, he wipes every tear away. He fills me with confidence and reassures me, I am worthy. He lets me know, “You are more than a conqueror through Christ Jesus” (Rom 8:37). Yes, Jesus loves me!

He knows I’m not perfect. I’m flawed. Yet he still loves me, flaws and all. He never talks bad to or criticizes me. He tells me I’m fearfully and wonderfully made (Ps 139:14). He loves me. I can fail God every day. In spite of me, he grants brand new mercies even when I don’t deserve it.

I am so in love with the Lord. This is the best relationship I’ve ever had. I won’t let go. I’m never getting a divorce. No matter what, I will remain loyal. I wouldn’t trade my relationship with God for the world. I am in it for life. I will say yes to him for the rest of my life.

Be blessed –JD

Hurt People Hurt People. Misery Loves Company. Don’t Let the Struggle of Someone Who’s Miserable Become Your Burden

wpid-img_20140822_083812.jpgWoke up with a heavy heart yesterday. Sometimes I don’t understand why people do what they do or choose the words they say. Only to kill the spirit of another just because they think it’s acceptable to be, who they are in their refusal to change who they are.

Death and life are in the power of the tongue. Speak those things that are not as though they are. We must be careful of the words we speak. Your words are a reflection of what’s in your heart. When bitterness, resentment, and unforgiveness resides inside, the words you speak will reflect who you pretend not to be on the inside. But will show itself strong when it comes out of your mouth.

To profess to be Christians, one must resemble Jesus in all they do. Our words and actions are a reflection of him. We’re representing the kingdom. To say we’re a Christian but say mean, cruel, hurtful things to others and find it difficult to love the unlovely; in some way is an oxymoron. Jesus loves us even when we’re unlovely. In his eyes, we can do no wrong. Why can’t we do the same for others?

Sometimes we have to think before we speak. And if we find it difficult to find the right words to say, it’s okay to be silent until we find the right words to say. Be careful of the way you treat people because one day you will be that same person and someone will do the same to you; and you will not know what it’s like until it happens to you.

We all will cross the same path one day. We must remember to treat others the same way we want to be treated, so that when our time comes, others will treat us the same way we want to be treated. Sometimes we do things unconsciously not realizing how it may affect others. We have to think before we speak and learn to be kind, respectful, and work to encourage, and not tear down others.

Hurt people hurt people. Misery loves company. Don’t let the struggle of someone who’s miserable become your burden. Don’t let the trick of the enemy fool you. Pray for those who hate, resent, despise, or work to confuse you. When you’ve done all you can do, stand. Put it in God’s hands.

I pray God speaks to the heart of anyone who may be hurting, confused, weak, or weary that they find strength, courage, peace of mind in Christ Jesus. Lord, you can move mountains and calm raging seas. Whatever it is we are struggling with, God deliver us from it.

God you are a heart fixer, mind regulator. You are Alpha and Omega. You are the Author and Finisher of our faith. You are the captain of our ship; perfecter of our faith. When you start a thing, you finish it. You are in control. God, let us speak boldly when we come to throne. Let the words of our mouth and the meditation of our hearts be acceptable in your sight, O LORD, my rock and my redeemer (Psalm 19:14). You will sustain us.

There’s nothing too hard for God. Whatever troubles you, give it to God. He can work miracles even when we think we’re not worthy. God, you’re worthy. Pray for me and I will pray for you. Watch what prayer will do. Prayer changes things. Thank you for listening.

Be blessed! -JD

No Matter Who You Are God Loves You Just the Way You Are!

wpid-img_20140520_192513.jpgGod you loved me at my worse. You kept close watch over me during the test. You protected me from the hands of the enemy. Thank you Jesus! You knew best.

When people see me I don’t look like what I’ve been through. When they see me, I look like and I’m on my way to my final breakthrough. Hallelu!

Father before I ask for anything, I thank you for everything. You are my rock, my redeemer, my everything. Remove anything in us that is not of you. Let this be a day we give honor and praise to you. Cover the nation, my friends and family. Keep us safe from dangers unseen. Fear is not an option. Faith is our shield. Let your will be done, and not our will. Let no weapon formed against us prosper. Bind every attack of the enemy planned against us. Return it to the sender. We are covered by the blood. Thank you Jesus! In all things we give you honor and praise. In Jesus’ name…Amen!

No matter who you are God loves you just the way you are.

Be blessed! -JD

Romans 8:38-39 “38 For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, 39 nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing, will be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” (NIV)

Cast Your Cares Upon the Lord. Lay Down Every Burden. Down By the Riverside

wpid-img_20140509_112120.jpgNo matter what I may face today, I know God will make a way. I’ll let go of  foolish pride. I’m gonna lay down my burdens. Down by the riverside.

I may be broker than broke. I’m blessed. I’m rich in Christ Jesus. I won’t complain. I give thanks to God in everything.

Life is not about the things we possess. Shout, praise God even when your pockets are empty. Thank God for overflow, increase. You’re blessed!

Be careful not to thirst for wealth, fame or fortune that you lose an appetite for God. Don’t put your faith in man or rely on worldly possessions. Be hungry for God.

No matter what you’re going through, know that God will sustain you. He’s doing something to prepare you for what’s to come. He’s positioning you for greater that he may be glorified.

Today is a great day. Rejoice! You may not have all you want. What you have is more than enough. Give thanks to God. Magnify the Lord!

Be blessed! -JD

1 Timothy 6:17-19 “17 Command those who are rich in this present world not to be arrogant nor to put their hope in wealth, which is so uncertain, but to put their hope in God, who richly provides us with everything for our enjoyment. 18 Command them to do good, to be rich in good deeds, and to be generous and willing to share. 19 In this way they will lay up treasure for themselves as a firm foundation for the coming age, so that they may take hold of the life that is truly life. Happy New Year!

Philippians 3New Years is hours away for some and has already begun in other parts of the world for others. Many of us made it, and for some the day didn’t come. Be thankful God kept you when the new year comes. Let the new year be a time where you reflect on not what you may not have or didn’t get throughout the year but let it be a time where you thank God for blessing you to see another new year.

Many of you will make New Year’s resolutions that in most cases may fail. God’s resolve are many that began with Christ Jesus and does not fail. God’s resolve is good and is everlasting. The gift he has given you in Christ Jesus. Christ is everlasting.

God resolves to never leave you alone, to meet every need, clothes on your back, and shoes on your feet. He will supply a roof over your head, food to eat, a place to lay your head to sleep. If God be for you, who can be against you? Thank you Jesus! God’s resolve will always be with you.

We all have gone through something. And many of us have survived. It’s not because of us but because of God’s grace we were undeserving of. The storms of life can flow like a river and may cause you to drown in fear or sorrow. God will calm the raging sea and see you through the storm with hope for tomorrow. Whatever you may have gone through, it did not destroy you. God has a plan. It’s designed for your good. God sent it to develop you. There may have been insurmountable trials, coupled with disappointments, illnesses, and setbacks. But your still standing tells you God is not through with you yet.

Many of you may become comfortable with where you are now. And at some point you will become satisfied. God will take you from a place of complacency just as you are and will transform you into the person he wants you to be. It will be between you and Him, not you and me. And when he does, you can’t take everyone with you where God is taking you. Some people cannot travel along on the journey with you. You’ll meet new people along the way. It’s all part of God’s plan to fulfill his purpose. He will have his say. When God moves you, don’t bring old habits from the past into the place God takes you from. Move on with new things leaving old things behind where God moves you from.

Start the New Year right. Resolve to honor and glorify God. Commit. Let past failures motivate you. Pray for wisdom. Rely on God’s strength. Make a decision to let go of the things that hinder you from moving forward and walk in your destiny. Be the best you can be.

Don’t let a day go by that you forget to pray consistently for others. Pray for me too. “As for me, I vow that I will not sin against the LORD by ceasing to pray for you” 1 (Samuel 12:23). We are not promised today or tomorrow. Live each day as if is your last. And remember, only what you do for Christ will last.

Happy New Year! From my family to yours, have a safe, wonderful, and blessed New Year!

Be blessed! -JD

Philippians 3:12-14 “Not that I have already obtained all this, or have already arrived at my goal, but I press on to take hold of that for which Christ Jesus took hold of me. 13 Brothers and sisters, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, 14 I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.” (NIV)

Pray, Stay Connected

Prayer is the pathway for a loving and working relationship with God. Through prayer, we grow in our love for him and our knowledge of God. Prayer is our direct line of ongoing communication with the Father. It never stops; nor should we. Keep the lines open between you and the Father. We are privileged. Pray without ceasing.

There may be some painful parts of your past you wish to forget. It was good you were afflicted. God allowed it that you may be blessed.

You may have been hurt by ones who walked out of your life. God allowed affliction to remove ones he knew were not meant for your destiny that no longer needed to be a part of your life. When God allows affliction, promotion will follow. Painful lessons are necessary. It’s required. You may go through some things. Life may not seem fair. Know God is with you. God’s there.
Run the race. Stand on the promises of God.  You will find deliverance. You will make it there. Trust in God.

God will supply all your needs. God knows what it is you need. Jesus tells us not to worry about the needs that God promises to supply (Matt 6:25). Don’t worry and allow it to disrupt or ruin your life.

Worry can affect your health and can consume your thoughts that will impact you negatively. It will disrupt your ability to sustain and live freely. You will become stagnated in productivity.  It can affect how you treat others. Negativity will hinder your ability to prosper.

Discern the difference between worry and genuine concern. “Worry immobilizes, but concern moves you into action (6:25).” When you know what you can do, that’s in your control, and what you are capable of doing, do it. Take action. When you know what is not in your control, what you are not capable of and cannot do, give it to God. Let him have control. Let Him do. God has all control. Do your best. Let God handle the rest.

Pain can hurt and negatively affect your life. Worry can disrupt your life. Don’t let it consume you. God is with you. The Lord will provide. God is Jehovah Jireh. He is our provider.

Prayer is the key. Faith unlocks the door. Cast all your cares upon the Lord. Don’t worry about a thing. Don’t let your past hinder you. Give it all to God. Surrender. Trust in God’s will for you.

Pray, stay connected. Talk to God all day. Release the pain that has you disconnected. Praise God, no matter your circumstance today. Give thanks for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you. There’s purpose in your praise. Praise God for all he has done, what he will do, and what he is going to do!

Be blessed! –JD

Luke 18:1-8 “Then Jesus told his disciples a parable to show them that they should always pray and not give up. He said: “In a certain town there was a judge who neither feared God nor cared what people thought. And there was a widow in that town who kept coming to him with the plea, ‘Grant me justice against my adversary.’ “For some time he refused. But finally he said to himself, ‘Even though I don’t fear God or care what people think, yet because this widow keeps bothering me, I will see that she gets justice, so that she won’t eventually come and attack me!’” And the Lord said, “Listen to what the unjust judge says. And will not God bring about justice for his chosen ones, who cry out to him day and night? Will he keep putting them off? I tell you, he will see that they get justice, and quickly. However, when the Son of Man comes, will he find faith on the earth?”

Don’t Get Stuck in the Valley

Mountains are big and in most cases, will be hard to climb. What you face may be too big for you to handle. With God, you will stand the test of time.

The valley is a test of your faith during a trial. God wants to see how much you will trust Him in the trial. It may be hard but know this. God will lead you out of the valley and will plant you on top of the mountain for such a time as this. God will give you strength to handle it.

When fear and discouragement cross your mind, know that God is there and will give you peace of mind. You mustn’t try to handle things on your own. God is Almighty. Let him handle it. For he sits high on the throne.

If God left everything up to you, your life would be a total mess because of you. God knows what’s best. He won’t let you settle for less.

When we’re stubborn and set in our own ways, we linger in the valley for what seems like forever trying to find our way out. Humbly submit to God. He’ll provide a way out.

God won’t deny you to climb the mountain set in a valley he brought you to. The valley you go through is set to prepare you to get to where God is taking you. God will take you through the valley to strengthen you so that you’re able to receive what he planned; to prosper you, plans to elevate you. It’s all God’s plan. Place your cares upon the Lord. Leave it all in God’s hands.

When you get to the place where God is leading you, the mountain will not be hard to climb. Even when you refused to see it, God was there all the time. It will happen all in his time. You will come through. Assured it was God and only God who brought you through.

Don’t linger in the valley because of what you refuse to do, because in the end it will only hurt you. Let go of selfishness, self-centeredness, and foolish pride. Let God instruct you and be your guide.  Change your ways. Take the advice written in God’s words that may come from others. It may be an unexpected source God is using to communicate his message to you through others.

Don’t allow your past to hinder you from doing the work of the Lord. God can use you just as he used Paul. Answer the call. God forgives you. Don’t let fear and stubbornness paralyze you.

God wants to use you to do his will. Don’t let your foolish will hinder you from obeying God and doing His will.

Don’t get stuck in the valley. Follow God’s lead. Climb your way out of the valley. God will move mountains when you let him lead.

Be blessed! –JD

1 Timothy 1:12-14 “I give thanks to Christ Jesus our Lord, who has given me strength for my work. I thank him for considering me worthy and appointing me to serve him, 13 even though in the past I spoke evil of him and persecuted and insulted him. But God was merciful to me because I did not yet have faith and so did not know what I was doing. 14 And our Lord poured out his abundant grace on me and gave me the faith and love which are ours in union with Christ Jesus.” (GNB)

Our Thoughts and Prayers Are With You

As I prepared to rest from a long day of tests, my soul cried out praying for rest, divine healing, and comfort when hearing of today’s tragedy of those affected by the explosions at the Boston marathon.

I couldn’t help but think here we are faced again with yet another senseless act affecting the innocent. And assured with current events, we are living in the last days as evidenced, by threats and rumors of war, pestilence, famine, and earthquakes, unexplained natural disasters and an increase in things that don’t make sense.

And while we may never understand any of this, we mustn’t be blind to the things we see. We are to be prepared and draw nearer to thee.

My first instinct was to pray immediately, as I turned off the television because the media has a tendency to overdo reporting events such as this. And it only frustrates the real intent.  I prayed out to God and said unto thee, “Lord, please have mercy on the nation. My thoughts and prayers are with everyone and those affected by today’s Boston marathon tragedy. Jesus, be a fence.”

I quietly said to God, “The world is in need of fervent prayer not only today, but every day. As the enemy continues to make his way, into the lives of innocent people only to fulfill, what you have presented in your Word that will be fulfilled.

I don’t have a lot to say. I only ask that everyone keep the victims in your thoughts and prayers. Please pray. There’s so much going on in the world today. And sadly, is something God’s Word tells us must occur even though we continue to see it every day.

Jesus is coming back again one day. Be less concerned with the date or when. Rather, be prepared when he comes again. Be consistent as you live God’s way. Thereby, no matter what when He comes that day.  In glory, he will claim you as his own. Don’t waste precious time looking at other people to blame. Look to God. Glorify his name.

Until then, know that there is no pain God cannot heal no sorrow He cannot comfort. God is the Father of mercies and of all our pain, sorrow, and comfort. “He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds” (Psalm 147:3).  Boston, we are praying for you.

My thoughts and prayers are with the families and victims of today’s explosions in Boston and the nation. May God send comfort, divine healing, and restoration. “And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus”

Be blessed! -JD

Matthew 24:3-6 “As Jesus was sitting on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to him privately. “Tell us,” they said, “when will this happen, and what will be the sign of your coming out of the end of the age?”

4 Jesus answered “Watch out that no one deceives you. 5 For many will come in my name claiming, ‘I am the Messiah,’ and will deceive many. 6 You will hear of wars and rumors of wars, but see to it that you are not alarmed. Such things must happen, but the end is still to come.”
