Trust God’s Sovereign Will

MP900182538God is able to do exceedingly and abundantly above all you could ever think or ask. He will give you the desires of your heart if you honestly seek him when you ask.

We may feel overwhelmed when a situation seems humanly impossible. God makes all things possible. Trouble doesn’t last always. Don’t underestimate God’s power. He’s all knowing. He’s Sovereign. He’ll show you the way out. He’ll work it out. With God we can overcome. It’s already done.

Let your focus be on God today. Concentrate on his power, even when you can’t see through troubles you face. Trust God. He has all power. That’s all he needs. He will meet your every need. His will is sovereign.

Be happy for others. Don’t desire what they have; even if you don’t have what they have. Be content. Be grateful to God believing because of his grace, all that you have is a blessing.

When God opens one door, he closes another. When he births something inside you, you don’t need validation from others. God will see you through the process. Deliverance is yours because of his Divine Providence.

Oftentimes we confuse our own desires with God’s will. Don’t confuse your will with God’s will. If things turn out in your favor but are contrary to what the Word says, it may have happened because of what you wanted and not what God said.

When you do or ask God for something in any given situation, you will know what God’s will is without hesitation. If what you ask will glorify God and build the kingdom, you won’t need any explanation. It will help you grow spiritually. It will not be something that goes against what the Bible forbids. Nor will you do it unwillingly. You won’t have to wonder, if it is unrighteous. When it concerns the will of God, it is righteous.

Moreover, if God doesn’t give you what you ask for, it may be that it’s not his will for you to have it. However, it could also mean that you may need to wait longer to have it. God does not give us specific information or direct answers to what he will do. He requires we make the right choices in whatever we do.

“Delight yourself in the Lord and he will give you the desires of your heart (Psalm 37:4).” Commit your ways to him and he will give you the desires of your heart. Because God’s will is good and perfect and will not deviate from what his Word says. It won’t change. He will do what he says.

Do as God desires, make the decision to not sin or resist His will. Make choices that are appropriate. Choices that are in agreement with his will. Walk closely with the Lord to do as he desires. Let his will be your will in what he desires.

God is able to do exceedingly and abundantly above all we could ever ask or think. He will place his desires on our heart when we walk closely with him. If what you desire can be of benefit and the Bible does not speak against it, this is your answer to make the right decisions. Follow your heart in it.

Renew your mind. Don’t conform to this world. You then will be able to test God’s will by his Word. Humble yourself in spirit. Truly seek God in all you do. God will reveal His will to you.

God’s Word instructs and guides us. He surrounds us with godly wisdom to make it through any season. He sends prayer warriors to pray for us for unknown reasons. God desires to impart in us, the fruit of the spirit to begin the process to mold us, in the image of his Son. The fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control (Galatians 5:22, 23). It will transform you. Let His will, not your will, be done.

Be blessed! -JD

John 15:3, 4 “Already you are clean because of the word that I have spoken to you. 4 Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit by itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in me.” (ESV)

Which Family Line Do You Belong To?

Today of all days I woke up with feelings of despair. I confess I am a Christian and oftentimes must look outside circumstances, assured God is there.

But I have days when I feel like life doesn’t seem fair. I am not one to hide my feelings. Nor am I one to sugar coat things. Don’t know if that’s a bad or a good thing. Especially if I’m trying to inspire, but there are times when I must be honest with myself because I too need to be inspired. I also feel we must be honest with God because he already knows what will transpire.

Thoughts began to fill my head. Found myself asking these questions, “What do you do when you feel like all is lost? Your body’s spent. Your mind’s confused. All hell breaks loose. You’re lost. Why life as a Christian can be so hard? What is it God expects from you when the perils of life bring suffering you cannot avoid?”

We may even ask, “What does it mean when we hear people say, ‘I gave my life to Christ and relinquished my old ways.’” I am a new creature in Christ. Christ is in me. I’ve changed my life. I know it will come with sacrifice. “It is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me…” (Galatians 2:20). I am a child of God. It is the power of God that works within me.

What it tells us is that they are steadfast in their obedience and commitment to God, even in the battle of their life. They are repentant. They change and will not desire to do the wrong things but what is right. They are truly sorry for their sins. And will repent to God for past sins.

Yet, when we encounter attacks of the enemy, thoughts begin to occupy our mind. God has already set the blueprint since before the beginning of time. We are in a battle with Satan, who will do everything in his power to distract us from the plan. But our fate is all in God’s hands. Although it will seem like it’s the hardest battle fought. If we are serious about glorifying God, we must be conscious of the fact that it will come at a cost.

The enemy will take every chance he can get to redirect us to a path of destruction. We are to not heed to his instruction. He knows our weaknesses. God knows our strengths. God will give us endurance to overcome in victory, not matter how tired we are or spent.

We may feel like we’ve lost everything because of struggles, trials, and tribulations we’ve faced. Since oftentimes life does not come with specific directions or a DIY book to be manually used to make it through the day. We are to rely on the Word of God for instructions to do things he desires his way. His Word instructs and guides us for such a time as this. Don’t let the enemy take foothold. God’s Word will protect you. The enemy will flee and resist.

Life will cause us to lose many things. We may lose cars, houses, jobs, children, loved ones; simply anything or everything. The list can go on and on. If we are to look at our circumstances we will lose sight, because these things are temporary in the fight for our life. Christ offers the hope of eternal life if we are born into him. With him, we can overcome and can live above sin.

“Christ offers us an opportunity to be born into his spiritual family – the family life that begins with forgiveness and leads to eternal life. If we do nothing, we have death through Adam, but if we come to God by faith, we have life through Christ. Which family line do you now belong to?” (Romans 5:15-19).

We may have trials, tribulations, and struggles. We may suffer. But we mustn’t take our eyes off the prize; God. God knows our struggles. He will not give us more than we can bear. Cast your fears upon him. He will be there. You may be lost. God will heal you. He will never forsake you. The Lord is your strength and will guide you. The Lord is your shepherd, you are his sheep. His Divine Providence will keep you in perfect peace. Every trouble he will guide you. Every obstacle you face. God has an answer and a solution that your fears may be erased.

Yes, being a Christian may not be an easy way of life. Don’t be discouraged. Remember the promises of God and his Son Jesus’ sacrifice. It is not about us but is about our life in God. Eternal life is a gift. Jesus paid a high price to offer it.

No matter what you may be going through, know that God is there for you. Be obedient. Remain steadfast in your commitment as a Christian. We are in a spiritual battle with the enemy who’s trying to thwart God’s mission. Follow God’s calling in your life. Don’t give in to confusion or strife. The battle is not ours, it’s the Lord’s. In your struggle, give it all to God.

Therefore, when I am troubled, I will remember this. It is the God to whom I belong, the God that will stand beside me. It is God I will serve. With God’s help, I am a born-again Christian, navigating my way through life. I’ve accepted Jesus as my Lord and Savior. I am repentant. I come to God by faith. I am a part of God’s family. I am blessed and highly favored.

John 1:12-13 ESV “But to all who did receive him, who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God, 13 who were born, not of blood nor of the will of the flesh nor of the will of man, but of God.”

Thank You 2012

As the year 2012 come to a close and the start of 2013 nears, graciously give thanks to God for his grace and mercy. You’re still here.

Your being here is a testament that he brought you through, whatever it is you may have gone through. God kept you. For some it may not have been much. For others, it may have been the most challenging, difficult times of their lives. But you made it. God is good all the time.

Regardless who we are, God gave us another chance to recompense. Through the gift of life he sent. Everyday we rise is an opportunity to get it right. God gives us chances to live a righteous life.

We must not fall prey to what seem obvious, but reflect on what is for certain; God is Sovereign. His resolve: To do what he promised. He is in control . God has unlimited power. He will make your life whole.

Isaiah 46:9-10 “I am God, and there is no other; I am God, and there is none like me. I make known the end from the beginning, from ancient times, what is still to come. I say: My purpose will stand, and I will do all that I please.”

Put God first. Let this be your resolve. Let the new year be a declaration of your commitment and service to God. May it deepen with every encounter and act as a catalyst for change. As you touch lives across the nation. Let God reign.

May your gift be used to serve and in devotion to others. Share love for your sisters and brothers. Let God use you as the instrument. In your service, make a difference.

Be strong in your conviction no matter what people may do. God’s Divine Providence will carry you through. Rest assured when God declares it is so, it will be. His word never fail. What will be, will be.

This is the truth; God is who he says and will do what he promised he would do. Be faithful to him as he is always faithful to you.

Life is but a vapor. We are here for only a little while. Let the work we do for God show in every area of our lives. For, until the time comes when the mist dissipates, let your living not be in vain while you wait. Honor God in all you do. This is my prayer for you.

May you all have a safe and wonderful New Year and may the Spirit of the Lord be with you. ~JD

2 Peter 1:3-4 3 His divine power has given us everything we need for life and godliness through our knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and goodness. 4 Through these he has given us his very great and precious promises, so that through them you may participate in the divine nature and escape the corruption in the world caused by evil desires.”
