Marvelous Monday Motivation! Thank You God. I Remember!

God I Remember JoaynnRepeat after me, “God I won’t forget what you’ve done. I thank you for everything. I remember!” When I’m going through what may seem like the impossible, or even in times when things are going great, I will make “God I Remember,” my declaration.

God I remember when there was lack, insufficient funds, no food to eat or clothes on my back or shoes on my feet. You supplied all my needs. I remember infirmities in my body, sick, riveting with pain. By your stripes I am healed.

God I remember when the enemy came to destroy me you vindicated me. No weapon formed against me. God I remember when my burdens were heavy, my yoke was not easy, and my cares were cast upon you you gave me rest. For your yoke is easy and your burden is light. You rescued me in distress.

God I remember when I was in trouble, you saved me. You thought enough of me to send your only Son to die for me. God I remember you and all you’ve done and are doing because you love me.

God, I will never forget you. By faith, I will always remember you.

Think about all the things God has done for you. Remember the things he brought you through. Praise God. He remembers you. He will never forget you. Today is a brand new day. His mercies are brand new every day. No matter what happens, forget the negative and focus on the positive.

Say to yourself, “God I remember!”

Be blessed! – JD

I Thought Of You and Said A Prayer For You Today. I Asked God to Give You Rest. Let Not Your Heart Not Be Troubled. It’s In His Hands. He Will Handle It.

I Thought OF You JoaynnMy heart has been heavy and I still am in shock since hearing of the senseless killings in Charleston, South Carolina that occurred last week. Hearing of all the precious lives that were lost made me weak. It literally brought me to my knees. I fervently prayed. God hears prayers of the righteous. I ask that you do the same.

In the face of adversity and uncertainty, stay strong. My prayers are with the families and victims of this senseless tragedy. All lives matter.

I thought of you and said a prayer for you today. Father I come to you in the name of Jesus not asking for anything and thanking you in advance for everything. Go through every house. Place the enemy under our feet. Cancel every assignment. Command him to flee. Whatever the enemy sends return it back to the sender, unsigned, sealed and undelivered.

The nation is in an uproar. Too many senseless killings. There is too much going on in this dark, cold world. Let there be peace, unity. The Lord is our shepherd. Heal families who have lost loved ones and are hurting everywhere. We need you Lord now more than ever.

God please help us. We are living in the last days. If you don’t know Jesus I pray you seek and find him today. He’s coming back soon. Stay prayed up. Come into a right relationship with God. Be ready when Jesus returns.

Father you know what it is we need. Dispatch your angels. God send healing, deliverance, strength in your provision. Let us not lose trust in Your Divine Providence. Place a shield of protection around us. Let no hurt, harm or danger come. We are covered by the blood of Jesus.

I come against every lying tongue that rise against us shall not prosper. We are more than conquerors. Send fresh anointing as we make our way. Lord Jesus have your way in this place today. “For the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous, and his ears are open to their prayer. But the face of the Lord is against those who do evil” (1 Peter 3:12).

Father God I thank you, glorify you, and magnify your name. Bless your name Lord. Bless your name. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen. #PrayForCharleston #CharlestonStrong

Psalm 23: 1-6 “The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. 2 He makes me lie down in green pastures. He leads me beside still waters. 3 He restores my soul. He leads me in paths of righteousness for his name’s sake. 4 Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me. 5 You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; you anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows. 6 Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life, and I shall dwell in the house of the Lord forever.” (ESV)

Lord, I confess. I was a wretch. I have joy! I’m free. I’m blessed!

English: He led them by a pillar of cloud, ill...

English: He led them by a pillar of cloud, illustration from a Bible card published between 1896 and 1913 by the Providence Lithograph Company (Photo credit: Wikipedia)

In the book of Exodus the pillar of cloud and pillar of fire was God letting the Hebrews know day and night he was with them on their journey to the Promised Land (13:21, 21). “The cloud and the fire were not merely natural phenomena, they were the vehicle of God’s presence and the visible evidence of his moving and directing his people” (Numbers 9:15-22). This was his assurance to them.

For us, as believers, the Bible is God’s assurance. Something the Israelites did not have. God gives us the Holy Spirit to remind us of what his Word says and to guide us each day (John 14:26). In creation of this message, this is what I needed to remind myself of today.

God has an unusual way of sending confirmation, affirmation, and answers to the things he needs us to see in order that we may see Him when dealing with life challenges. His desire is we not look at our circumstances but look to him when faced with challenges. No matter what you’re facing, be steadfast in your faithfulness to him. Depend solely on Him. Look to God’s Word day and night to know he is with you. Assured his presence in the journey will carry you through.

I’m not perfect. I may be strong, but from time to time I need inspiration and encouragement too to help me grow stronger. I feel like I’m loved even if it’s not by you. I’ve been through a lot but I’m stronger, wiser, better. I survived not because of you. It was because of God’s grace I made it through. Because of his unmerited favor, mercy, and grace I can now witness to others and you.

As soon as I opened my eyes today, tears began to roll from my eyes. And I didn’t even know why. I went to God open, naked, unashamed, and found myself talking to Him revealing my vulnerability. Afterwards taking a deep self-examination and self-reflection of what it is I seem to be missing. Time and time again he has been dealing with me these past few weeks trying to show me the problem I failed to see. I wasn’t ignoring him but instead didn’t understand what he was trying to show me. I didn’t understand the answers he sent to the problem I knew I was having.

Much of my behavior was out of fear of my only wanting to be like everybody else when feeling as though I failed in my attempt to be or act like everyone else. I confessed to him how throughout my life I have always longed to be accepted by others, how I felt the need to feel loved, and how I looked for validation from others in order to feel like I belonged. I often looked for someone to tell me I was pretty even when I felt ugly, to be complimented, patted on the back, or acknowledged for things I would do even when I felt I was inadequate and had not accomplished a thing.

I’ve had low self-esteem and felt I didn’t fit in. Being a twin I seemed to have had second-oldest child syndrome and felt I never had a place or fit in. There was my twin who was the oldest, my brother who was the middle, and my younger sister who was the baby. I was the second oldest who really didn’t have a label. This all tells me something about me. Revealing the very things God needed me to see about me. Glory!

It was not until I listened to the words that came out of my mouth today on my voice recorder, I realized who the problem was; it was me. Failing to see before my talk with God I didn’t need others to validate me. From time to time, looking for compliments I didn’t get. I couldn’t look towards the future because it seemed gloomy, filled with darkness, fear of the unknown, and sadness.

Like a cloud looming over me every day. Yet in my quiet time I heard God’s Word say, “By the day, the Lord went ahead of them in a pillar of cloud to guide them on their way and by night a pillar of fire to give them light, so that they could travel by day or night. Neither the pillar of cloud by day or the pillar of fire by night left its place in front of the people” (Exodus 13:21, 22). God was in front, on side, and behind me regardless of what I didn’t get or felt I needed from people. Assured God was with me. My confession today freed me.

I thought, even when I’m so broken inside I still try. I try to encourage, motivate, and inspire. I try to inspire others and at times fail to encourage myself. My days feel like nights and my nights feel like days, in search of help. Where I get no sleep at night as if it were day and I sleep during the day as if it were night most of the days. I felt like I was losing my sanity. The past few weeks I had no energy. I was confused at times. I needed a moment like this to clear my mind.

As I poured out my heart to you, I recognized how the enemy was working in my head as I’m talking to you. Making me feel as though my body is dead and my outer shell is a tomb my body exists in. I’m being held captive, bound by my own insecurities, indiscretions, sins. I never felt by some I was genuinely loved, growing up I had difficulty showing love. My sister helped and showed me how to love. People may never appreciate, celebrate, or even like me. I now realize this is something I must let go and release. God loves me. After talking to you today I realize I am loved and really am in a better place. Your love is unconditional. You love me with all my flaws. I am more than a conqueror. I survived the storm.

This is my declaration. This is what I’m going to do. I will let go of past hurts, disappointments, insecurities, and those who I expect too much from too. I will keep my mind stayed on you God. I will make it through as I learn to love and forgive myself as does the Lord. I will stop looking for people to say, “I love you” or “I’m so proud of you.” I will build up my self-esteem and my confidence too. I am a strong person by God’s strength. I am beautiful inside and out. I will make it. I will release all doubts. I will work to change some things about myself that you’ve revealed to me. I have taken a deep self-examination and now see the problem with things about me you have revealed to me. I will be the best I can be and do what pleases you. Every day I will work to bring glory to you.

God, I feel so much better now that I’ve gotten these things off my chest…Until next time, thank you for listening. I know I’m blessed. I need to stop playing with my emotions and not be an emotional wreck. I know you are not through with me yet. The enemy cannot take from me what you’ve already promised me. I know you are always there with me. I may not have pillars of clouds or pillars of fire as the Israelites did, but I have your Word that will lead and guide me from darkness into the light just as they were led.

Lord, I confess. I was a wretch. I have joy! I’m free. I’m blessed!

Be blessed! –JD

Don’t Let Stumbling Blocks Get in Your Way

MP900149038One of the greatest stumbling blocks in our life can be any form of suffering. Be it sickness, jobless, or disease. We all will suffer. Oftentimes it can be of our own doing. That can make us feel our life has been ruined.

Not all suffering is intended by God. We must know the difference and not blame it all on God. We may create it ourselves out of disobedience. That will cause us to sin because we were not obedient.

Suffering is the result of sin that started with man. Genesis tells us how Adam and Eve went against God’s instructions and sinned against Him. They were disobedient.  As a result, sin came from man and woman’s disobedience.

We live in a fallen world. Suffering is to be expected. But the difference is in how you handle it. When stumbling blocks get in your way, don’t let temptation stop you from reaching your destination. Through faith, God can crush temptation.

No matter what form of suffering you may experience. Know that God’s grace is sufficient. God can use it to accomplish a greater good. Have faith. Persevere. Endure.

Be blessed! -JD

My Offering For Healing and Peace – Tamela Mann “Take Me To The King”

This song serves as my inspiration today. The devil has been so busy, even as I share these words today. All week he’s been attacking my mind and working against me. To the point he’s trying his best to kill, steal, and destroy me. But I won’t let him get to me. I know God’s got me.

Even though I work to encourage, I too get tired. I’ve been sick and tired of being sick and tired. He’s made many attempts, trying to operate in my life. The devil is an adversary trying to convince me I am unworthy. Because he knows I have been  in despair, riddled with strife.

Satan tempts us when he knows we are going through. To see how much we trust God when we’re going through. But if we know God and we make it through. It is evidence our trust in God brought us through.

He catches us at our lowest point and thinks he will win. But he has no authority in our lives. God wins. Thankful God Is Faithful! We woke up on this side of heaven. We have a portion of our health and strength. His mercy endures forever.

I don’t know who this is for even though I know it’s for me, I pray this song helps someone to hold on no matter what the circumstance or the situation may be. I pray this song encourages you. Please let it inspire and lift you up. A song that may help to ease your heavy burdens no matter if you’re feeling distraught.

God is with us always. He knows and hears our prayers. I pray that he hears my plea in the words I share. That it may heal your heartache and pain. I pray for wholeness. Know that God is with you in spite of the pain.

You may not have much to bring to God. And come empty handed with empty faces. You may be broken in all your lonely places. With feelings of emptiness, feeling as if you don’t belong. The best I can offer you on this day is this song. It is a revelation to the pain I, as many others may be experiencing. And feel alone and cannot see God in anything. There’s no one to count on. But know that God is there. He is listening.

Take this song and use the lyrics as a source of hope no matter what you’re going through. Go to God, talk to him. Let it be between him and you. May your soul find rest. Listen to the words and a brief verse and chorus I included as Tamela Mann puts it best:

Take Me To The King
By Tamela Mann

Verse 1:

“Truth is I’m tired. Options are few. I’m trying to pray but where are you? I’m all churched out. Hurt and abused. I can’t fake. What’s left to do?

Chorus:

“Take me to the King. I don’t have much to bring. My heart’s torn into pieces. It’s my offering. Lay me at the throne. Leave me there alone. To gaze upon Your glory. And sing to You this song. “Take Me To The King.”

Now it’s time I end this in prayer and offer it to you today. I hope it helps someone, somewhere along the way. Be encouraged. God is behind, alongside, in front and behind you come what may.  I know because it has helped me get through this day. And now I feel better as I say:

“Father, I come against every attack of the devil. I bind the hands of the enemy. And even though we don’t deserve it, send your angels of grace and mercy. Count us worthy. Cancel every assignment. Remove anything that is not of you. Your Word is the only thing we can count on to make it through. We give all praise, honor, and glory to you. Right now, we claim the victory! It’s already done. No weapon formed against us shall prosper. Your Will will be done. I seal this prayer in Jesus name, Amen.”

This is my offering for peace and healing.

Be blessed! -JD

Deuteronomy 28:7 “The Lord will cause your enemies who rise against you to be defeated before your face; they shall come out against you one way and flee before you seven ways. 8 “The Lord will command the blessing on you in your storehouses and in all to which you set your hand, and He will bless you in the land which the Lord your God is giving you. 9 “The Lord will establish you as a holy people to Himself, just as He has sworn to you, if you keep the commandments of the Lord your God and walk in His ways.” (NKJV)

By His Stripes We Are Healed

English: Broken Heart symbol

English: Broken Heart symbol (Photo credit: Wikipedia)

A broken heart in conflict with the mind cannot speak to another person’s pain. A healed heart that reflects God’s heart can.

When filled with brokenness, the heart is hardened and shattered into pieces that seem hard to mend.  We’re convinced the heart has been damaged beyond repair and can’t ever be healed again.

When our heart has been broken the mind is met with conflict, denial, and resistance. The pain will run so deeply where we find ourselves in a state of confusion. Our thoughts become inconsistent.

We will close ourselves off to any and everything. We won’t allow anyone we feel can be of help to come in. Not even ones who can offer advice or spiritual guidance that will help us mend. When others try to encourage us, we don’t feel like they are saying the right things.

We believe in that moment because the heart has been irreparably damaged, there’s no fixing it. There’s no advice anyone can give us to make us feel better. We can’t see the good or God in it. There are no activities we want to engage in that will make the pain go away. Simply put, when in this state, we believe there is nothing that will cure the pain and heartache.

Then we throw all our emotions into a bag, close, pack and will carry the weight on our shoulders. We will carry a heavy burden, coupled with lost emotions, repeating feelings of hurt over and over.

Tugging emotional baggage is like a heavy suitcase being opened only to find it filled with locks and chains bound together. That cannot be broken without the help of something to cut loose the metal. As is a person who is broken and have become emotionally damaged and confused. And it feels like we have been taken advantage of, wondering why we were emotionally abused.

When the heart conflicts with the mind, we tend to do things that are unconventional. Our thoughts become irrational. We behave out of character. We begin to look to ourselves for answers.

There’s uncertainty in our hearts. On our own, we try to work it out. We will harbor fear and self doubt. And will take our focus off God and place it on us. And unfortunately will fail to see what was right in front of us…God. The very thing we needed to find peace, deliverance, and healing. We looked to ourselves instead of God for healing.

God is the answer. He will give you strength to overcome and work it out. He won’t allow you to go through it alone. You will overcome without a doubt.

When the heart wants what the mind doesn’t. Don’t confuse one with the other. Get them in sync with one another. Even when your heart is broke it deserves recovery. Pray and ask God to heal your heart, even if it doesn’t happen immediately. He will do it, if you let him. He will set your soul free.

It is okay to hurt but we mustn’t put so much focus on something that is not working. Yes, we’re in pain and may be broken. But God will fix our hearts again. He is a mind-regulator and a heart fixer. God is a healer. He will make you whole again.

Seek him. Focus on His Word. Not your will. Be dedicated, committed, and obedient to his will. He is the only one that can fill the hole in our heart. He can remove the void. And when it comes time to live again, we will not be led by our damaged heart. But will be led by the joy in knowing we have been restored with the goodness of God’s heart. In order that God’s purpose may be fulfilled. Our heart will reflect God’s heart once again.

By His stripes we are healed.

Be blessed! -JD

Forgive To Heal….Trust Your Belief

One of the hardest things to accept is when someone disappoints, hurts or betrays you. Yet the greatest reaction is to see God in it and not react to them. But instead react to Him. It may anger you but when your heart is in the right place, you’ll overlook their sin. You’ll choose to follow God’s orders and not sin in it. It may hurt your feelings but you’ll get over it.

Oprah’s Lifeclass Forgiveness Quotes

When people hurt, disappoint or betray don’t take it personal or retaliate. Instead pray for them and wait.  God will see you through. And eventually, they will change too.

Your heart will be reflective of him because a heart of God will speak love. But a heart filled with bitterness and resentment speaks unforgiveness and is hard. A heart filled with contempt speaks lies and deceit. The latter is reserved for those who choose not to seek forgiveness and repent.

Trust will also play a major role in your response to a healthy life. As it manifests and renders your soul unhealthy when holding on to bitterness and strife. Ultimately bringing things such as pain and resentment as you live a defeated life.

Oftentimes a lingering lack of trust can be the very obstacle that will prevent your ability to move forward when you are blind to what’s hindering you. If you aren’t careful, complacency and blissful ignorance can lead to a lifetime of bondage in all you choose to do. But it doesn’t have to be this way. If you open your heart to God and let him lead the way.

Forgiveness begins in the heart and must first take place there in order to start the healing process. Otherwise you may never be burdenless. Even though it may be hard to get there, the most important thing is to learn to trust God on your way there. Learn to forgive yourself and forgive others; for your sake and not the sake of others.

While the prevalence of broken trust may be difficult or painful to forget, forgiveness will break the cycle of your unfaithfulness. But eventually it will be up to you. To make the choice that will lead to a healthy life that you may start fresh. Anew

No matter what people may do to hurt you. Remember, there’s nothing impossible God can’t do. Choose to stay in the right standing with him. Don’t rely on man to heal you but look to him. Be willing and open to change. Seek God in the midst of your pain. For, it is he that can make your life whole again.

Trust, have faith. Open your heart. Heal and be healed. Surrender to God’s will. Allow God to mend your heart so that you may forgive and be forgiven too. Overlook the offense, move forward, and let God lead you. To a life filled with joy that he promised you.

Turn every disappointment into a blessing, failures into successes. May trials become triumphs and tests become faith testaments. Forgive that you may heal. Trust that you may believe. Embrace all that God has in store for you. And you shall receive… a renewed life.

Be Blessed! -JD
