Walk in Humility and Watch the Power of God. Have An Attitude of Gratitude. Do Good for Others!

Their Heart JoaynnOur attitude can be our greatest asset the moment we open our eyes, and will determine our destiny, today. Count it all joy. Think positive.

To operate in humility is to bow down to the will of God and put the needs of others first before yourself, with no hidden agenda to exalt yourself. Pride or arrogance doesn’t get in the way of being a blessing to others. You seek God’s wisdom, listen to His Word, and seek to do what it says. It is then you will see the glory of God operate in your life when you least expect it.

Your works are not based on your own merit or what you’ve done to accomplish your will or find success. It doesn’t take cliques or clichés to be accepted. You don’t focus on making impressions on people that you may receive honor and glory. In all you do, God gets the glory.

We may never understand the workings of God but what we are assured of, He can do anything but fail. There is a reason God keeps you hidden for his purpose. Your work will not be in vain. He is working things out in your favor. The manifestation will be so great you will know it was God and God alone who worked out the situation on your behalf, met every need, and showed himself strong.

Walk in truth, honor, and humility and watch the power of God. Forgo your own desires and don’t be afraid to inconvenience yourself to do good for others. God will reward your faithfulness. Don’t look for people to accept, acknowledge or approve of you. You don’t need to be part of a certain group to feel worthy and do the work of the Lord you are called to do.

Regardless of what others think of you, be worthy of the calling God has given you. He ordained it. You have a choice. Humble yourself or a life-changing experience will do it for you.

Philippines 2:3-113 Do nothing from selfish ambition or conceit, but in humility count others more significant than yourselves. 4 Let each of you look not only to his own interests, but also to the interests of others. 5 Have this mind among yourselves, which is yours in Christ Jesus, 6 who, though he was in the form of God, did not count equality with God a thing to be grasped, 7 but emptied himself, by taking the form of a servant, being born in the likeness of men. 8 And being found in human form, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross. 9 Therefore God has highly exalted him and bestowed on him the name that is above every name, 10 so that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, 11 and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.” (ESV)

Serving God is An Honor. It’s A Privilege. Be Thankful To God For the Privilege of Being In A Ministry

Blessed By GodForgive me for the long post but the other day in my time of reflection, I woke with some things that were unsettling in my spirit and thought I’d share.

I believe that God works through his people to accomplish impossible tasks that may seem impossible to us. God knows what it takes to do what he’s prepared for us. He often shapes us with experiences and training that prepares us for his purpose.

All Christians are called to ministry. However, being in a ministry doesn’t mean we are entitled to serve ourselves and in the process, claim a title. It means we serve God by serving others. We are speaking and serving directly on His behalf to others. We trade selfishness for selflessness. We bring glory to God. We bring honor to Him and not ourselves.

We have no idea what God has in store for us. In our service, we must be obedient. We must be careful not to become complacent or comfortable in our daily routine when placing priorities on things we did before we made the decision to serve God. We must put into action what we learn from his Word. Faith without works is dead. God wants our obedience. We remove “self” out of the equation. We change our mindset. We change the way we used to do things in order that we may bring glory to him.

Too many times we make it a point to get to work on time, never miss a day, and push ourselves beyond limits to get the job done. But choose not to be as dedicated and obedient to God as we are to our friends, family, employers, or loved ones. Failing to realize had it not been for God, we wouldn’t have a job. Or anything else for that matter.

If what we know about God to be true, there are no excuses why we choose to do what we do because we have been conditioned to do it. Yes, we learn. But we must also grow. We change our priorities to accomplish tasks He has prepared for us and positioned us to do. And if in the beginning, we know what God’s Word tells us is true, we will begin the process by doing, not what we want, but what he desires we do. Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. (2 Cor 5:17)

When we learn and are assured of what God desires from us, in our service, we must walk the walk and talk the talk the right way to do that which pleases him. Walk with, and not away from God. When you talk with God and walk with God, you can become useful to Him. Welcome him into your thoughts and share your feelings, your concerns, and your dreams. Walk with him and put what you learn from his Word into action.

Blessed by God is not by your works, not an entitlement, nor can it be earned. It is a gift from God. You’re blessed to be a blessing to others. When God blesses you, don’t curse your blessings because you did not honor him when you chose to complain. Be a blessing to others. Glorify Him.

We cannot serve two masters. Make a choice. Either you will serve God or serve yourself.

Be blessed! – JD

Colossians 3:23,24 “Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men, 24 knowing that from the Lord you will receive the inheritance as your reward. You are serving the Lord Christ.”(ESV)

Do Unto Others As You Would Have Them Do Unto You

wpid-textgram_1389895655.pngOne of the hardest things as a Christian is to overcome evil intentions of others with kindness and humility. We can’t let it get to us or make the decision to be unloving to others as a result of unforgiveness. We must not give in to the enemy’s devious plan. Pray for them. Stand.

Some people think Christians are infallible and not human too. We may minister but sometimes we need someone to minister to us too. I’m not perfect, nor you. We make mistakes and lose focus even when we know we’re not supposed to.

People will hurt and sin against us. And we may sin against them too. What will make the difference are the choices we make after we’ve done what we were not supposed to do. Either we will choose to stay in it and do as the evildoer do. Or we will choose to repent, seek forgiveness, and do what we know God is calling us to do.

We may stumble but mustn’t live a lifestyle of unrepentant sin. As a believer, we are to be consistent in how we choose to live. There’s a level of comfort we may become accustomed to and will stay in it thinking it’s enough. God will take us out of our comfort zone because he has our best interest at heart.

We can’t live with regrets. We must not focus on what we should have or could have done living with regrets. Ask God for forgiveness. Work to do better so that when the time comes. You know it was by God’s grace you were able to overcome. Our God is gracious, merciful, forgiving. God promises in his word our sins have already been forgiven. Forgive those who have sinned against you. Forgive yourself. God will forgive you.

We must focus on the here and right now. If you don’t know how, ask God to show you how. When you pray and think God is not listening because things didn’t turn out as you wished. Hold on. God hears the prayers of the righteous. Pray and not only ask God to show you what to do, but be willing to sacrifice and make it a priority to do exactly what he instructs you to do. No matter what, God’s Will will be done. Seek God. Let His will, not your will, be done.

When you’re born of God, you will choose not to make a practice of sinning. You’re saved and not just pretending. Change your mindset. Reach new heights in God. When he presents opportunities to elevate you, be open. Come out of your comfort zone.

Do self-examination in times of testing when the enemy plans an attack against you. See if Jesus Christ is in you. Test yourself to see if you’re saved. Test whether you are in the faith. “Examine yourselves to see whether you are in the faith; test yourselves. Do you not realize that Christ Jesus is in you–unless, of course, you fail the test?” (2 Co 13:5)

No matter what people may do to you. Or how right they think they may when sinning against God or trying to hurt you. Look to God for the answer. Follow his example. Abide in Christ, and he abide in you. Without him, you cannot bear fruit. Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.

Be blessed! -JD

Ephesians 1:17-18 “I keep asking that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, may give you the Spirit of wisdom and revelation, so that you may know him better. 18 I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in his holy people.” (NIV)
