Welcome to Wisdom Wednesday! Wait on God. Let Go of the Past. Choose to be Free!

Anointed JoaynnSometimes we can become prisoners of our own minds as well as allow other things or people confine us. Think about how long you’ve been confined and what will it take to free yourself? Stop holding on to your past, using it as a crutch. God will turn your past into purpose, if you let him.

Oftentimes when something doesn’t work out like we plan, we can become frustrated and discouraged to the point of wanting to give up. Especially when we look at our circumstances and believe it will determine the outcome. I say, when disappointed by the way things turn out, don’t get discouraged. Count it all joy. Because what I know about God, he does things decently and in order.

While things may not work out as we plan, we must have faith and trust God that it will work out according to his plan all in his perfect timing. Remember, God’s “no” is “not yet.” It doesn’t mean it won’t happen. It will. Just in his timing. It’s already done. God he doesn’t make mistakes. He knows exactly what he’s doing.

When you find yourself waiting for something to happen and you’ve done all you can that was in your control, wait on God. In the meantime, use the waiting period as an opportunity to glorify Him. Thank him for allowing it to come to pass at that moment, right at that time, on that day. Thank him in advance for what you can’t see that is coming. Don’t give up. Have faith. Greater is coming

Declare, “Today is the day I choose to be free.” Whom the son sets free is free indeed. Let go of things or people that no longer serve you. Let go of what restricts you from moving forward. God desires you grow but you can’t grow if you stagnate yourself by being complacent and comfortable. Step out your comfort zone. Break every chain of bondage. Be intentional.

God is positioning you for greatness. Say to yourself, “I will not be bound again.” Get in position to receive the blessing. Free yourself. Go get your blessing!

Be blessed! – JD

Don’t Despise Small Beginnings. Leaders Lead. I Will Finish Strong. 2017 Will Be My Year to Soar! Happy New Year!

books-2The past miracles God has performed in my life are nothing compared to what he is going to do in the future.

As I prepare for 2017 with some books strewn across my bed I will be reading in preparation of a new season in my life, I sit here in reflection of the past years filled with seasons of tests, trials, troubles, and tribulations I could not fathom I would get through. With the past year bearing the greatest significance of my struggles as I witnessed God’s sovereignty and His power. He brought me a mighty long way.

I’m grateful for every door after door, chapter after chapter closed, gone forever. Ushering in new beginnings God made for me. Letting go of things and those that no longer serve a purpose. Signaling it’s time; to walk in my God-given calling.

See, two months ago I made a vow to God and professed I was ready to accept the call. Yet I still had reservations because for a long time I was comfortable doing what I loved but uncomfortable at times doing God’s work. But I told him I wanted to, no I needed to gain a deeper knowledge of Him, grow in my spiritual walk and in my ministry. I didn’t want to continue doing it on my own without a mentor or someone to guide me.

He sent a ram in the bush; Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church (PRBC) Ministry Leadership Training Program (my church where I worship and serve) that starts in eleven days. Designed to “stretch me.” The devil keeps taunting me but he don’t understand, God is not playing. Nothing will stop His plan. It will manifest and come to pass.

As I begin this new chapter in my life, my mind is in a place of peace, even though I’m a lot nervous with what to expect given I feel inadequate. Yet I have seen God do the impossible in and out of season. And if he did it for me before, he can use me and do it for me again for his glory. Lord I’m willing.

I’m excited and can’t wait to see what God has in store for me in this next chapter of my life. I got a feeling he’s going to use me mightily. I will FINISH STRONG! Keep me in prayer. God bless.

Be blessed! – JD

Be safe. Happy New Year!

2017 Is On Its Way. Follow Your Dreams Like Never Before. Do Something Extraordinary!

your-future-joaynnWith 2017 fast approaching in less than two days, make a commitment to do something extraordinary! Follow your dreams like never before. Step out your comfort zone. Declare, “I will have all that God promise me.” You are more than a conqueror! Go get your blessing!!

Don’t let what needs to be left behind you, your past cause you to miss what is waiting in front of you, your future. Press towards the mark. Your future is waiting.

If we were to take a look at our lives and can honestly say we know it was nothing but God that brought us this far, why is it we continue to make choices we believe are in our best interest only to remain stuck because we are comfortable? We cannot transition into the next level if we choose to stay bound. We have to step out of our comfort zone.

God deals with us one thing, one step at a time. He doesn’t rush us. But we cannot move forward if we choose not to press towards the mark. We have to be willing to be led by the Spirit. Otherwise we miss it. We have to want to be guided by God. We have to want to be led by God. We have to want to stop doing the same things we’ve become comfortable with doing to get different results.

If we keep doing the same things that are not what God wants us to do, or never change our mindset and believe we are on the right track because time and time again everything works out in our favor, we will miss the great life God promises us. And live a sub-standard life because of our own choices. Shouldn’t we want more from life if we know we can have it and have it more abundantly? Hasn’t God laid the path out for us? Make the decision to follow his instructions.

When we as believers profess and know God but are stubborn in our ways and choose to be ignorant to what and how we know we should apply the Word of God to our lives, don’t blame God when it doesn’t turn out right. Blame yourself when you suffer consequences as a result of your own doing.

If we know God promises all things will work together for good to them that love God, to them who are called according to his purpose (Romans 8:28), why do we forsake him and not believe him? Why do we worry? If you truly want to walk in the promises of God, believe what he says, walk in it, change your mindset, and choose to live as he desires. Whatever God says, believe it. He said it. That settles it!

Happy New Year!!

Be blessed! – JD

Don’t Let Fear Stagnate and Stunt Your Growth. Stay Connected To God. Grow Spiritually!

destiny-comaSpiritual growth is a life-long process. But oftentimes life situations will cause us to become disconnected. We lose sight of God, even though he’s always with us. Our prayer life, meditation, and reading of the Word are affected. We don’t mediate or pray as much. We become distracted.

Stagnated in our walk with God because we are so comfortable where we are. We are satisfied with our life, fear change, and believe the life we live is the best it can get for us. When in fact, God has a greater plan in place for us. God’s Word teaches, rebukes, corrects, and trains us that we may be equipped for every good work. This essentially is spiritual growth.

To grow is to increase in knowledge and understanding of God’s Word. Spend time with God. Pray. Say a simple prayer, even when it seems difficult. Stay connected. No matter where you find yourself in life, it is where you are supposed to be even if you caused some delays out of decisions you made on your own. You are still growing. It may not be as fast as others or as you would like it to be. But it is steady.

When you find yourself in a place where you are confused and feel like nothing is working in your favor, look to God. Persevere. Be confident of this, He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus (Philippines 1:6).

Don’t let the shock of knowing you need to grow put you in a destiny coma because you’re stuck in the past and your present, hindering your future. Grow. Move forward.

Be blessed!– JD

2 Peter 1:5-8 “For this very reason, make every effort to add to your faith goodness; and to goodness, knowledge; 6and to knowledge, self-control; and to self-control, perseverance; and to perseverance, godliness; 7and to godliness, brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness, love. 8For if you possess these qualities in increasing measure, they will keep you from being ineffective and unproductive in your knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.”(NIV)

When You’re Down To Nothing, God is Up To Something. No Matter What, Get Up Every Day and Do Something!

promise-without-purpose-joaynnHow many of us can attest to the fact we know our dream or vision has been assigned by God but become fearful or will have doubts when it seems like everyone around us is prospering but us. Yet if we are honest with ourselves, we too are prospering just as others or if not even better. God is preparing us for greater to fulfill his perfect will while we wait for better.

We don’t know how long or what it took for that person to get where they are nor do we know what they had to go through to get where they are. What we do know is God can do anything but fail. And whatever our hands touch, he promises they will prosper. Your gift will make room for you. Whatever God has for you is for you.

Just because you may see someone else business or dream manifest before yours does, it doesn’t mean God has forgotten about you. It just means his timing of manifestation is “not yet”. He has to prune, shape, and refine you for what he knows is coming. Don’t give up. Keep the faith. It’s coming!

For those of us who are honest with ourselves, we can admit we are flawed. At times, we can’t seem to find our purpose. We feel inadequate and feel we don’t belong. We wake every day with expectation believing God for a miracle. Yet when things don’t work out as we expect we become discouraged and possibly disillusioned.

Our faith is tested. We begin to question our trust in God. We have doubts, become hopeless, in despair, wanting so badly to give up. Where is our faith? We focus on what’s not working in our circumstances instead of looking to Jesus at work in our circumstances. We start looking to the right and to the left. Not realizing we only need to look to the hills from whence cometh our help.

Life is not easy. But we have a choice. We can choose to be happy or choose to miserable. Don’t look at your situation only to become discouraged and want to give up. Remind yourself, even when you’re down, God is up to something. God wants to take you from Eqypt to the promise land. Say to yourself every day, “No matter what, I’ll get up and do something!”

Look at where you are now and where God brought you from. You are where you are because of where you’ve been. Look at God! Ain’t He good!!

Be blessed! –JD

Isaiah 43:18, 19 “Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. 19 See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland.” (NIV)

Don’t Regret When You Are Going Through The Storm. Be Thankful for Your Struggle. It Is Your Testimony

discover-your-purpose-joaynnWhen God starts a thing, he finishes it. Whatever He has worked on, it is finished. It’s done. He said it. That settles it. Believe Him! Even when you don’t know what it looks like, have faith it will work out just as God promise it would. Have faith God will work all things together for good!

When the attack is so deep and you find yourself going through the storm, sometimes God will take you through a season where it’s just you and him alone. He will strip you of everything in and of yourself and will use you for his glory during the process.

Even though you may feel he’s not there, you are in a season that is not without purpose. There’s a purpose for the separation. God has to break you before he makes you great. Don’t regret the process. Trust it.

When God isolates you from others, it allows you to draw closer to him. You will grow spiritually. God wants to mold and shape you. He will get the glory, and not you.

Being alone can be very frustrating and sometimes will cause you to become distraught, depressed, or distracted. God is with you and have you by yourself for a great reason. Jesus cuts off every branch that doesn’t bear fruit. You can’t be pruned if you are standing by yourself. You can’t be refined if you are conforming like everyone else.

Pruning is a process that requires removal of dead things. It is the cutting off of life’s distractions. God prunes us that we may bear more fruit. And for every branch that bears fruit, God prunes that it may be more fruitful (John 15:1-4). When you find yourself in a season where you feel alone, know that it is the right time you are available to God to be used to fulfill His purpose. #BeBlessed!

Be blessed! -JD

John 15:1-5 “I am the true vine, and my Father is the gardener. He cuts off every branch in me that bears no fruit, while every branch that does bear fruit, he prunes so that it will be even more fruitful. You are already clean because of the word I have spoken to you. Remain in me, as I also remain in you. No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain in the vine. Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in me. I am the vine, you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing.” (NIV)

In Honor of September Pain Awareness Month: “If There Was Less Pain, I Would….If I Could”

I am Joy and I want the world to know,
what I would do if this were so.

If I lived in a world with less pain, this is what you would see.
A world filled with less struggles and strain, aching to be free.

I would be a voice that does not go unheard.
But instead be one of distinction to serve,
a community of people with better places to go
in their provision of care that exceeds “the pain world” we’ve come to know.

Pain as it is, with treatment that works.
Not pushed or stereotyped merely because we “irk”,
the professional that thinks we all are the same,
prescribing a drug that has the same name,
even if our conditions are in different range.

If I were this person this is how it would be,
you could hear my voice but you can’t see me.
Because if I was in less pain I would be free.

Free to live with less struggles and despair,
but with a greater hope to overcome obstacles I can bear.

Free to speak without feeling ashamed
of the world I now exist in with the devastation of pain.

Free to choose a doctor that will openly listen to me
and not place me in the same category.

Free to live out the goals I so desire,
without constantly feeling sick, weak, or tired.

Free to be the person I was created to be,
to live out the purpose that was pre-destined for me.

With more strength than I now have that would carry me through,
a life filled with courage and hope anew.

If I lived in a world with less pain “I” would be,
the person behind the door you cannot see.
The person longing, waiting…to be free.

Free to be Joy. Free to be me!

by Joy Darden

To raise awareness about the need for effective pain care in response to the former American Pain Foundation’s (APF) If I Lived in a World with Less Pain, I Could…. campaign to SECURE A FIRST-EVER PRESIDENTIAL PROCLAMATION OFFICIALLY NAMING EVERY SEPTEMBER NATIONAL PAIN AWARENESS MONTH, my family helped create this video “If I Lived in a World with Less Pain, I Could…” to share my voice as well as spread the word to bring awareness to what I believe is such an important issue in the lives of those who live with pain.

The video represents my message to PRESIDENT OBAMA what MY WORLD WITH LESS PAIN would be like and what I Would Do If I Could…if I were not in pain. It gives me an opportunity to make a difference in the lives of others as I work to bring national awareness to the “hidden” epidemic of pain (APF) so that those who suffer with pain will have a right to effective care and treatment; because “pain” is not just an individual or local problem. It is a national healthcare crisis. It does not only affect pain sufferers but it affects families, friends, associates and anyone who is connected to its world. Even though it may not directly affect every individual, the physical, financial and emotional affects can be devastating to the pain sufferer and the families of those who will ultimately suffer. But with your help, we all can make a difference.

Please join me in support of this cause and spread the word DURING THE MONTH OF SEPTEMBER or UNTIL A PRESIDENTIAL PROCLAMATION IS SECURED by asking others to spread the word on Twitter, Facebook, Google+ Instagram, Periscope, Pinterest, or any other social media outlet. Your support would be greatly appreciated! Thank you.

Be blessed! – JD

Say Your ABC’s With Me, “I AFFIRM Me, I’m BEAUTIFUL, I’m More Than a CONQUEROR!”

You're Unstoppable JoaynnOftentimes when we think we have a handle on life, we tend to lose sight of the purpose God intended for us and begin to feel incompetent. We look for approval from others when it’s not required. You’ve been approved by God. Think about this:

Just when you think you’ve mastered your ABC’s growing up, you see yourself struggling with them as a grown up. Many of us desire APPROVAL, ACKNOWLEDGMENT, and ACCEPTANCE but because life has dealt us empty, broken promises and uneventful circumstances, we are BRUISED, BROKEN, BATTERED and become CONFUSED, COMFORTABLE, and COMPLACENT.

We fill in the blanks with the rest of the alphabets that include life’s trials, tribulations, obstacles, and tests. And forget what we learned when we first mastered it. But I say, just like you mastered ABC’s when you were young, refresh your memory, retrace your steps, relearn a new set of words, and remember how you overcame to arrive at your now destination.

DECLARE to yourself EVERY day, I am FEARFULLY made. I don’t need to be Approved, Acknowledged, or Accepted by anyone to feel I am loved. GOD approves of me. HE loves me just as he loves Jesus. And for all the letters I will undoubtedly experience in life in between while traveling this journey, I will keep believing God for miracles and blessings.

PERSEVERE. RENEW your mind, STAND. TRUST God. Be UNSTOPPABLE. You’re VICTORIOUS. WALK in your destiny. YOU already got the victory! Now you know your ABC’s, next time say this with me. “I AFFIRM me. I’m BEAUTIFUL. I’m more than a CONQUEROR. I DECREE, I’m Winning! ‪#‎ABC‘s ‪#‎inspiration ‪#‎realtalk

Be blessed! – JD

Roman 4:6-8 “David says the same thing about those who are blessed: God approves of people without their earning it. David said, “Blessed are those whose disobedience is forgiven and whose sins are pardoned. Blessed is the person whom the Lord no longer considers sinful.” (GW)

Be Grateful. Give Thanks to God. It’s Just That Simple.

What I Want JoaynnIt doesn’t matter how well you do in life, especially when it seems all is going as planned. It only takes one thing that will change your life forever. Be ready to fall on your knees in prayer to God when life changes.

We’re not promised tomorrow. Don’t take life for granted. Keep God at the center. Pray, meditate, study the Word. Give thanks to God. It’s because of his grace and mercy you are alive.

Some didn’t make it today. Thank God for brand new mercies. You woke in your right mind, with a portion of health and strength. Without God, you never would have made it.

You may not have what you want. You have what you need. You may not be where you want to be. God has you right where you need to be. Thank God. In everything, give all glory to God.

Be blessed! – JD

Psalm 100:3-4 “Know that the Lord, he is God! It is he who made us, and we are his; we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture. 4 Enter his gates with thanksgiving, and his courts with praise! Give thanks to him; bless his name!” (ESV)

When Everything Seems Out of Place, Don’t Fret. Give It to God. He Will Handle It!

Be Patient JoaynnSometimes we can become overwhelmed when faced with difficult situations we do not have answers to; let alone control of. But it is in our darkest hours we are to look to God. We are to remain steadfast and stand on His Word. He will fix it. Our God is faithful.

When we feel and profess, we don’t want “to do this” anymore, it’s the enemy trying to frustrate our purpose. Don’t look to the right or to the left. The devil is a liar and the truth ain’t in him! God will fulfill his purpose.

Take a look at your life and all the things you’ve been through and know that it was nothing but God who brought you through. Look at God! Won’t he do it!

Make a declaration today. No matter the circumstance, let praise continually be in your mouth. Give thanks to God for what he’s done, what he’s doing, and what he’s going to do. Praise him in advance. With God, you’re winning!

When everything seems out of place, don’t fret. God will put the pieces back in the right place. Let him handle it.

Be blessed! – JD

Philippians 3:12-14 “Not that I have already obtained this or am already perfect, but I press on to make it my own, because Christ Jesus has made me his own. 13 Brothers, I do not consider that I have made it my own. But one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead, 14 I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.” (ESV)

Don’t Get So Comfortable You Become Complacent. Change is Good. Be Uncomfortable. God is Working It Out in Your Favor!

Orchestrated By God JoaynnWhat happens when the life you prospered and found great joy in changes suddenly and you’re not prepared for it? It happened suddenly and you were not ready to accept it? You were in denial and refused to move from your comfort zone because you were afraid of change.

Out of fear, you became resistant and decided it would be best to stagnate your progress instead of growing from it.

It was easy to be complacent and comfortable because you finally made some changes in your life and you became accomplished and known for your great works just for that season. You even managed to garner a title to identify with when others spoke or referred to you as great. But fame is only temporary. What you do for Christ will last. Don’t get it twisted.

Yet there will be some changes along the way. Can you handle it? God has a way of presenting change for a greater purpose; for a greater good. You see, with change comes new beginnings filled with new purpose. God is preparing you for something greater, on purpose.

As such, before he can elevate you, he has to prune, shape, and refine you. You may not like the change and may even be resistant to it. I say, don’t regret it. In fact, welcome it. Not because your situation may change but some things in you will change. Not just around you but you will be required to change some things about you.

When God opens a door you must be ready to walk through it for such a time as this. Be ready to walk through it. Even in difficult times or situations, trust God. You need to make the most of any situation. God promises something good will come from it. Be ready when it comes. God knows exactly what he’s doing!

Be blessed! – JD

Look At God! He Brought You This Far. Aren’t You Glad He Didn’t Leave You Where He Found You

How Amazing JoaynnAt times, when life becomes a cycle of uneventful circumstances that leave us helpless and hopeless only to become weary, in despair, we may tend to lose focus and sight of God.

Our spiritual life gets turned upside down and we began to feel the impact in our spiritual walk. We break silently, not having much to say, if nothing at all. Yet we still praise God even in our moments of silence; in the midst of turmoil.

Not that it means we are isolating ourselves from those we love. We just do not need any distractions. Praising God for the blessing. In quietness and confidence is our strength (Isaiah 30:15). Reading the Word, prayer, and meditation are essential. It is in this time, we really need to hear from God. And will require time with him and him alone.

No matter how many times we may fall by the wayside or lose our way, we always find our way back to Him. Nothing can separate us from the love of God. His grace is sufficient.

Take it from me, life can be a struggle on the regular. And sometimes it can be difficult just to pray. But never stop because simple prayers will get you through the day. It can be as simple as, “Thank You Lord.” Persevere and watch how the power of prayer will manifest in your life.

You may have been through some things. God brought you a mighty long way. Aren’t you glad He didn’t leave you where he found you? How amazing! Praise God. He is simply AMAZING!

No matter what life brings on any given day, never stop giving God thanks. Our God is faithful. Be grateful.

Be blessed! – JD

Preparation Comes Before Elevation. Hold On. Your Breakthrough is Coming!

Stand JoaynnWhat If I told you God is a restorer, would you believe me? What If I told you He is a deliverer, would you doubt his ability? His promise is his Word. Believe him. Won’t he do it!

A strong indication of spiritual growth is when you lean totally on God for strength, no matter the circumstance. You choose to respond to situations according to God’s Word and not react based on your emotions. God is doing something through you in the trial. He is trying to teach you something. Take note, learn the lesson. Apply the Word of God to your life, no matter the storm. Find your purpose.

Each and every one of us will go through or have gone through trials that left us wondering why, never understanding God’s plan. Yet in the trial, we discover the kind of faith we truly have. Tests, trials, tribulations, and troubles are not meant to break us but are designed to help us grow. It is where we find our purpose. No matter the circumstance, know that God is there in the midst of your trouble. Humble yourself before the Lord. Have faith. God will take care of it. Trust him.

Be encouraged today. God made a way out of no way. Praise God! You’re still standing. The glory of the Lord is our strength. We can do all things through Christ Jesus. Have faith. He who began a good work in you will complete it. We will never understand when God does what he does. Stop trying to make sense of what he does. Trust Him even when it doesn’t make sense. God got this!

If you’re believing God for something and it seems like it’s taking too long, don’t give up. Hold on. Preparation comes before elevation. God wants what’s best for you. He has to prepare you before he promotes you. Keep doing the right thing. Trust God. His grace is sufficient.

Repeat after me, I’m not defined by my past. I’m a child of God. Fearfully and wonderfully made. I know who I am. I’m more than a conqueror!

Be blessed! – JD

Philippians 4:12-13 “I know how to be brought low, and I know how to abound. In any and every circumstance, I have learned the secret of facing plenty and hunger, abundance and need. I can do all things through him who strengthens me.” (ESV)

Today is THANKFUL TUESDAY! There Are So Many Things To Be Thankful For. Tell Me, What Are You Thankful For?

Glory JoaynnToday is THANKFUL TUESDAY so I decided to come out of my comfort zone, and do something radical. I promised I would no longer hide behind the walls of my writing, afraid to be transparent to the world. I listened and did what God said when He spoke to and told me it’s time to remove the veil. I’m trying something different, beginning new things, believing God for a miracle. I’m THANKFUL!

Words cannot express my gratefulness to God. I have so much to be thankful for. Through my tears Lord I’m grateful. Grateful, grateful, grateful, grateful. Grateful, grateful, grateful, grateful. Grateful, grateful, gratefulness, is flowing from my heart. Flowing from my heart are the issues of my heart, is gratefulness. I see myself in the future and I’m looking better. What God has for me is better.

The minute you open your eyes, give thanks to God. Give glory and honor to God. His grace woke you up this morning and started you on your way. Thank him for waking you to see another day. God granted brand new mercies, even when you didn’t deserve it. No matter what comes, put your trust in God. Be thankful. Thank God in advance for what he’s done, what he’s going to do, and what he has done. My God is able.

God, we may not know what the day will bring or even if we will make it through the day. Thank you for your faithfulness. Things may not go your way today. Be glad about it. Praise God in the hallway. You may not have all you want but you have all you need. Bless your name Lord. Bless your name. Thank you Jesus.

Sometimes even in the midst of the trial, you have to praise your way through. Rejoice. Know God got you. He promise to be with you through the storm. Be grateful. You’ll make it through the storm.

I don’t know about you but there are so many things I am thankful for. Tell me in your own words, what are you thankful for?

Be blessed! – JD

Colossians 3:15-17 “And let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, to which indeed you were called in one body. And be thankful. Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom, singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, with thankfulness in your hearts to God. And whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.” (ESV)

Welcome to Wisdom Wednesday Morning Inspiration. Make A Declaration. Count Yourself Worthy!

I Won't Quit JoaynnIf anyone were to ask me what does it feel like to be me, I would tell them it’s nothing like what haters say about me. The opinions of others do not bother me. In fact I welcome them. Because they’re not facts. They are just opinions. Have a seat haters. God set me free! Thank you Jesus!

One of the hardest things to accept is not being accepted as you are by others. Love yourself. Accept it. Don’t let it frustrate your purpose. You may not be all you need to be. Thank God you’re not the person you used to be.

The devil wants to keep you in bondage. He wants you to believe you don’t have what it takes to live for God. The anointing breaks the yoke of bondage. Don’t be afraid. Refuse to stay bound. Live for Jesus. When you face difficult situations and it seems you’re under extreme attack, don’t give up. Run the race. God will send a ram in the bush.

Live like there’s no tomorrow. Forget yesterday. Put the past behind you. It’s a new day. Have no regrets. God is not through with you yet.

Say this with me, What God has for me is for me. I want what God has for me. I won’t quit or give up. I will walk in my destiny no matter what.

Be blessed! – JD

Thanks to My Pastor Bishop Thomas. He Did It Again. Join Me and Do Something Different. Step Outside Your Comfort Zone. Do Something Radical!

New Places JoaynnFor the past few weeks I have been distracted to the point where I’ve been slacking and have lost interest and concentration on things I looked forward to that used be a part of my normal routine that would give me joy. I would wake with a plan every day only to be bombarded with distractions that were so time-consuming it would leave me frustrated, in pain, to the point of wanting to give up. It was never-ending. Especially when it affected the things I loved doing.

And to top it off, it interfered with my meditation and time spent with God. I lost focus on God. As well as working on my blog. I was a sin and a shame. I started slacking in my prayers. I managed to read my Bible, in a hurry. Saying simple prayers. Forgive me God. I’m working on this.

Something was amiss with me. I couldn’t put my finger on it and thought it was very unusual for me. You see, weeks prior I had this burning desire to do something different, out of the ordinary. Something I’ve never done before. But too many distractions left me uncertain. I started having doubts and begin to question is this really what God desires for me? Is this where he is truly leading me?

But something happened a few weeks ago at church that left me speechless and affirmed I was on the right track. Thanks to my pastor Bishop Thomas’ powerful sermon titled “I’ll See You Outside” confirming it was time to see new places and do something different. He said, “You got some new things, new friendships ahead of you but you got to get outside. Get out of the routine and go outside. God has better for you. Meet some new friends.” I was like, how did he know? Well, he’s just the messenger. God knew.

I have been hiding behind walls afraid to be transparent to the world far too long. God spoke to me, letting me know it’s time to remove the veil. It compelled me to do something out of the norm I believe would change my life forever. I decided to do something radical. I declared I wouldn’t spend another day bound by fear, afraid of the unknown. I’m going to get out of my usual routine of doing what’s familiar and do something different. Even though I am very shy, I took it up a notch and left all my insecurities behind. I took to Periscope to share my love of God and in the process managed to also share some inspirational messages.

God never intended for me to fit in so I won’t spend time trying. I will stand out! I am the unique one. I’m not like anyone else. I will no longer lose life doing time. I’m going to get outside of my normal self. I see myself in the future and I’m looking better. What God has for me is better. So I decided the next day would be the day I begin new things, believing God for a miracle. I declared miracles and blessings!

Like my Bishop said, “Life goes to the pioneers, trailblazers, originators, ground breakers. People who do things unusual. Success, accomplishment, advancement goes to the innovators. Those who think differently.” My, my. He’s talking about me. I’m going to press forward and finish things I’ve started with confidence. I won’t be afraid to self-publish out of intimidation.  I’ll see you outside in new places. I’m meeting new people.

Please pardon my uniqueness. I don’t have a click to fit in. I roll all by myself. I can’t please everybody. I don’t need anyone’s help. So if you see unusual things from me, it’s because I’m doing something different. I’m on a roll. I’m doing something radical. I’m going new places and will meet new people along the way. “I’m winning!”

Thanks for supporting me and visiting my blog even though I’ve been gone for a while and have been missing in action. That’s it for now but if I think of anything else, I will keep you posted. In the meantime, I want to leave you with this.

Calling all pioneers, trailblazers, originators, and groundbreakers. God has better for you. Step outside your comfort zone. Take it up a notch. Occupy all streets. Do something radical!

Be blessed! – JD

James 1:23-25 “For if anyone is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like a man who looks intently at his natural face in a mirror. For he looks at himself and goes away and at once forgets what he was like. But the one who looks into the perfect law, the law of liberty, and perseveres, being no hearer who forgets but a doer who acts, he will be blessed in his doing.” (ESV)

God Shifted Some Things In Your Favor To Get You Where You Are. Don’t Regret Change. You Couldn’t Remain the Same Person

God I Thank You JoaynnWhen you are in transition and your breakthrough is getting close, you can tell because you’re not your usual self. You get easily aggravated. You may feel helpless. Things that never use to irritate you will and people who never mattered to you matter.

Don’t let it discourage you. God is shifting you. When it seems like you are at your worst, God sends a miracle. A ram in the bush with provision. Praise and worship God. Keep your mind stayed on Jesus.

Before you could get to where God was taking you some things had to change. You couldn’t get to where you are by staying the same person. Thank God for molding you into the person you now are from who you used to be. You couldn’t remain the same person. God shaped you to prepare you for your destiny.

Say this with me, God I thank you for molding me into who I am from who I used to be because had it not been for who I was I wouldn’t be who I am today.

Be blessed! – JD

Naysayers, Stop Hating and Being Envious. Have a Seat. Get It Together!

Uninvited GuestsToday I decided to step out of my comfort zone and dedicate a simple post to all the naysayers who never have nothing positive or encouraging to say. And would like to share a few words to encourage someone today.

We can become easily discouraged when faced with difficult situations. No matter how many times man says no, God’s yes is the final answer. God knows exactly what we are dealing with every day. He hears the prayers of the righteous. Whatever you’re believing God for, he will answer.

Sometimes to find peace of mind you have to remove yourself from things that serve no purpose. Naysayers, doubters, gossipers, haters are included. Let go of what doesn’t belong. Be at peace.

Naysayers to me are Negative Attitudes Yielding Senseless Attacks Yearning Exclusive Recognition; simply put. They are jealous for no reason. When you encounter someone who has too many reasons to complain about everything and can never see the good in anything, run! They will do everything in their power to make you just as miserable as they are. Remember, misery loves company.

People with negative attitudes serve no good purpose. If they don’t have anything positive to say. Stay away from them. Association brings assimilation. Be careful who you surround yourself with. People who constantly make the worst out of a good situation and focus too much on the negative are not ones you want to surround yourself with.

Pessimists will defeat your purpose, if you let them. When you encounter a naysayer, don’t be intimidated by them. Tell them thank you. Pray for them. Don’t let the actions of others become your standard of living. You are not designed to be like them. Make the best of the situation. You are made to stand out, not fit in.

When you give in to negative thoughts you’ve already lost the battle. Don’t dwell on the negative. Bless those who curse you, even when they persecute you. It doesn’t matter what people say about you. It’s not true. You don’t look like what you’ve been through. Don’t get weary. You’re Winning!

Stop inviting haters to pity parties only to have them extend invitations to more miserable, uninvited guests. Keep your secrets to yourself.

Don’t listen to naysayers. They don’t know you. Whatever they say about you isn’t true. Declare, I am and will be all that God says I am. I am victorious!

Be blessed! –JD

Isaiah 55:11 So shall my word be that goes out from my mouth; it shall not return to me empty, but it shall accomplish that which I purpose, and shall succeed in the thing for which I sent it. (ESV)

Say This With Me, I Declare And Decree I Will Walk In The Fullness of God’s Blessings!

Declare and Decree JoaynnNot everybody will celebrate you. There are some who may not even like you. They don’t matter. Learn to celebrate yourself. You matter! While it may be refreshing to know that somebody cares, even when they don’t, learn to celebrate yourself.

When looking over my life today, I couldn’t help but give thanks to God. I declared I have so much to be thankful for. I may not have all the things I want or am where I want to be but I thank God for all I have and where I am. It’s exactly where God needs me to be.

When it comes to my life and matters that are dear to me, I am a very private person and try my best to keep my personal life to myself. Everybody do not need to know when I’m helpless. But for the people that want to get in my business only to persecute, condemn, and judge me, I turn off the noise. I don’t tell them a thing. Because everybody don’t need to know my business. I take it to God. He’s the only one that needs to know all about my troubles.

Be careful of people who talk about you and not to you. Do what you know is best for you. Gossipers will talk behind your back. They want to see you fail. Don’t tell everybody your secrets. Keep your business to yourself.

Don’t let life get you down. It won’t always be like this. Believe God for miracles and blessings. Speak prosperity over your life. Don’t give up. Name and claim it. Be encouraged. Anything easy is not worth having but anything hard to get will be well worth the wait. Persevere. Keep trusting Him.

Say this with me….Declare and decree whatever I touch shall prosper. No weapon formed against me shall prosper. Who the son sets free is free indeed. What God has planned, it will succeed. I have the favor of God on me. Grace looks good on me. I wear it well. I can do all things through Christ Jesus. I am more than a conqueror. It won’t always be like this. I will walk in the fullness of God’s blessings. I will win at this!

Be blessed! – JD

Job 22:28, 29 “You will also decree a thing, and it will be established for you; And light will shine on your ways. When you are cast down, you will speak with confidence, And the humble person He will save.” (NASB)

I Got A New Perspective. I’m Renaming My Valleys Today. God is Taking Me Through The Valley of Blessing!

wpid-img_20150415_153005.jpgThe past three months have been extremely exhausting to the point where I wanted to throw in the towel and give up. I’ve been going through some major things with my health, devastating pain that I cannot even put a name to. Weariness and not remembering things to the point where I haven’t been able to share or think of things to say to bless others about how good my God is. At times, only sharing a simple word or thought to ease my own fears and still be a blessing to someone.

With all that I am going through, I’ve been extremely discouraged. Yet being the person I am, I couldn’t let it stop me. I’m persistent, strong-willed, and determined. I persevered. Every day I kept trying. But today of all days was the last straw. The devil came and tried to steal my joy.

Early in the wee hours of the morning, before my feet hit the ground the enemy pounced on me like a raging storm. Attacking me from the north, south, east, and west. He wouldn’t leave me alone. It was one of the most frustrating mornings I have had in a long time. Nothing was going right. I said, “Oh my goodness!” My world seemed dark, filled with despair and hopelessness. I felt helpless.

I started hearing voices telling me, “You will never reach your destiny. You will never accomplish your dream. You’re failing at just about everything. Look at yourself. Where is your help?” I told him, “You messed with the wrong person today! I refuse to believe the lies you are telling. I’m not listening. I’ve had enough. I rebuke that spirit of failure, defeat, and discouragement”. I immediately got on my knees and prayed to God. I felt better after I talked with God. And although nothing changed immediately, I could sense in my heart God was with me.

As I tried to find strength to begin simple tasks only to feel defeated again or gain motivation to get on track, I couldn’t. I needed God’s strength. I opened my Bible to read the book of Jeremiah, chapter 22. I looked at the first verse and for reasons I cannot explain, something alerted my attention to Joel Osteen’s broadcast I stopped in the middle of listening to the other day because I had to attend one of many doctor appointments I had this week. The message, “The Valley of Blessing”.

I thought, how ironic. Believing it was not a coincidence. I said, “Thank you God.” I needed to hear this! I said to him, God this is why I love you soooo much! You know exactly what I need when I need it. You will send a word that speaks to my situation to guide, encourage, bless, and deliver me from evil that surrounds me. That I may know everything will be all right, even in the valley.

Pastor Osteen had a lot to say and I wish I could put everything here but I can’t so I will share this. He said, “In every valley you’re gaining something. There is a purpose. Nothing happens by accident. Stand still and you will see the victory. Don’t complain about the valley. Have this new perspective. There’s a blessing in the valley.

Perhaps you’re in the valley of sickness and could easily be discouraged (Yes that’s me). It’s only temporary (Glory!). Don’t settle (I won’t). It’s going to turn into a valley of health and strength (Praise the Lord). You may not understand it right now but learn this. “God doesn’t move the valley. He will bless you in it.” No matter the circumstance, He will deliver you in it.

I started reflecting over my life journey and realized what I was missing. Although I may have been in the valley for almost eleven years, I am assured there’s a purpose. If it wasn’t going to turn out for my good, God wouldn’t never have led me to it.

Just because I lost some things including my passion, independence, pride, and dignity, God would restore these things and more back to me. I came to understand I wasn’t dealing with trivial things but with something critical to my destiny. The valley was preparing me for something greater. Glory hallelujah!

I learned my experiences were for my benefit. I gained something that would be instrumental in reaching my destiny. Experience and confidence opened the door to new beginnings. I may have faced challenges that seem insurmountable but what came to me as a surprise, this time the challenge is even bigger. It’s like something I have never experienced before. Thank God! I’m getting closer to my destiny.

When the enemy comes to kill, steal, and destroy, I will declare how great my God is. No weapon formed against me shall prosper. I’m more than a conqueror. Trouble don’t last always. This problem did not come to stay. It will come to pass one day. God will show up and show out. He will see me through this. He will fight my battle. I am in the valley of blessing.

God, you gave me a vision. I know this was your plan. Even when I don’t understand why this is happening to me or it doesn’t make sense, I will stand. I served the devil notice today. I told him I’m renaming my valleys today. I’m calling them one by one. Valley of defeat is valley of victory. All the valleys of sickness and disease, I’m renaming it to valley of restoration and health. Valley of death, struggle, and lack, I’m taking my rightful names back. You will be known as the valley of abundance, promotion, increase. I will decrease that God may increase.

I got a new perspective. I will get my passion back. I am victorious. I am triumphant. I will not be discouraged. My breakthrough is on the way. I will stay in the faith. I won’t let nothing stop me. What God has for me is for me!

For anyone who is in the valley this message of hope and inspiration is for you. Rest assured. God will see you through. You may be struggling. Know this, whatever God starts he finishes. Your situation may seem hopeless. It ain’t over until God says it’s over. Don’t be discouraged. When God says it is finished, it’s done. Trust Him. Count it all joy!

Be blessed! –JD

2 Chronicles 20:26-27 On the fourth day they assembled in the Valley of Beracah, for there they blessed the LORD. Therefore the name of that place has been called the Valley of Beracah to this day. 27 Then they returned, every man of Judah and Jerusalem, and Jehoshaphat at their head, returning to Jerusalem with joy, for the LORD had made them rejoice over their enemies.” (ESV)
