Be Grateful. Give Thanks to God. It’s Just That Simple.

What I Want JoaynnIt doesn’t matter how well you do in life, especially when it seems all is going as planned. It only takes one thing that will change your life forever. Be ready to fall on your knees in prayer to God when life changes.

We’re not promised tomorrow. Don’t take life for granted. Keep God at the center. Pray, meditate, study the Word. Give thanks to God. It’s because of his grace and mercy you are alive.

Some didn’t make it today. Thank God for brand new mercies. You woke in your right mind, with a portion of health and strength. Without God, you never would have made it.

You may not have what you want. You have what you need. You may not be where you want to be. God has you right where you need to be. Thank God. In everything, give all glory to God.

I Thought Of You and Said A Prayer For You Today. I Asked God to Give You Rest. Let Not Your Heart Not Be Troubled. It’s In His Hands. He Will Handle It.

I Thought OF You JoaynnMy heart has been heavy and I still am in shock since hearing of the senseless killings in Charleston, South Carolina that occurred last week. Hearing of all the precious lives that were lost made me weak. It literally brought me to my knees. I fervently prayed. God hears prayers of the righteous. I ask that you do the same.

In the face of adversity and uncertainty, stay strong. My prayers are with the families and victims of this senseless tragedy. All lives matter.

I thought of you and said a prayer for you today. Father I come to you in the name of Jesus not asking for anything and thanking you in advance for everything. Go through every house. Place the enemy under our feet. Cancel every assignment. Command him to flee. Whatever the enemy sends return it back to the sender, unsigned, sealed and undelivered.

The nation is in an uproar. Too many senseless killings. There is too much going on in this dark, cold world. Let there be peace, unity. The Lord is our shepherd. Heal families who have lost loved ones and are hurting everywhere. We need you Lord now more than ever.

God please help us. We are living in the last days. If you don’t know Jesus I pray you seek and find him today. He’s coming back soon. Stay prayed up. Come into a right relationship with God. Be ready when Jesus returns.

Father you know what it is we need. Dispatch your angels. God send healing, deliverance, strength in your provision. Let us not lose trust in Your Divine Providence. Place a shield of protection around us. Let no hurt, harm or danger come. We are covered by the blood of Jesus.

I come against every lying tongue that rise against us shall not prosper. We are more than conquerors. Send fresh anointing as we make our way. Lord Jesus have your way in this place today. “For the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous, and his ears are open to their prayer. But the face of the Lord is against those who do evil” (1 Peter 3:12).

Father God I thank you, glorify you, and magnify your name. Bless your name Lord. Bless your name. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen. #PrayForCharleston #CharlestonStrong

Here’s Something to Think About. Think on These Things. Believe in the Power of Prayer. Prayer Changes Things

wpid-img_20150130_075733.jpg“Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable–if anything is excellent or praiseworthy–think about such things” (Philippians 4:8)

Prayer changes things is not a myth. It’s a fact. Think about it. When you thought you’d lose your mind and prayed, God showed up unexpectedly. He turned things around in your favor. He made the crooked places straight. He worked it out in your favor. Prayer works.

Make a joyful noise. Pray without ceasing. Glorify God. No matter what you encounter today, give it to God. Whatever the enemy sends today, return it back to the sender; undelivered! James 5:16 “Therefore, confess your sins to one another and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person has great power as it is working.” (ESV)

When you feel discouraged and fear the design God has for you is working against you, think on these things. What is meant for evil is meant for your good. God will give you, not what you expect out of fear, or what you expect he should. God keeps his word. He will give you the expectations of your faith; the end he has promised. Do what is in your control. God knows best. Pray, leave everything up to God. Let him handle the rest.

Let Everything That Has Breath Praise the Lord!

wpid-img_20150103_075451.jpgIn times of trouble, when you feel you need God most, keep praying. Have a little talk with Jesus. Tell him about your troubles. He will hear you. He will answer.

At times, God may seem far away. Regardless what it looks like, know that he is right there with you. He’s just a prayer away.

Walk by faith and not by sight. Let your light shine. Be the light. Use your God given gifts well. Be the best YOU can be. Be a blessing!

I pray, as Paul prayed, that you know God better. Know Jesus Christ. Seek the Lord through prayer. Study His Word. Spend time with Him daily.

Let everything that has breath praise the Lord. We serve a might God. No matter how big your problems are, God is bigger. Glory Hallelujah!

Prayer Warriors Please Pray for the Nation. Angels Go To Work on Behalf of the Nation!

wpid-2014-08-11-22-41-07-1515099862.jpegThe nation is hurting. Many have lost a loved one. We may not have known them, but we’re praying for everyone. Prayer warriors, intercede, touch and agree in prayer for the nation. Please come together collectively as prayer intercessors and lift up the nation. There is so much going on in the world today. Every day we hear of a life lost be it by natural causes, unexpectedly, or violence where a life ended tragically.

When I heard the news of Robin Williams, I was devastated. I didn’t need to know what happened. I only needed to send prayers for his family. I immediately began celebrating his life. I prayed and asked God to keep watch over his family and friends who just lost a loved one. I asked God to send healing, comfort, strength, and peace. My final request: My condolences, thoughts and prayers are with the family of Robin Williams. America has lost an iconic figure. He will be missed. May he rest in peace.

To further exacerbate my feelings of devastation, while reading the things happening in Missouri all week, last night, and right now is breaking my heart. Racism is still alive and well, and sadly seems to have gotten out of hand with an increase in violence. Racial tension is causing division amongst the people in the city of Ferguson. We need to pray for the safety of the people in this community.

Color has no barrier, no body, or no face. We mustn’t let the color of our skin be the cause of division or hate. We should love one another as God loves us. The color of our skin shouldn’t matter because it doesn’t matter to God. We are all God’s children. He doesn’t discriminate. I pray we stop the violence and eliminate spewing hate. God please cover the community of Ferguson, Missouri and the nation with the blood of Jesus. Angels go to work! Send comfort, peace, a solution to the problem of racial tension and division. Father God let there be unity. Bless every family. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen. #MikeBrown

Mental illness has no color, gender, or face. It can affect any human being. We never know what a person is going through. Pray for everyone. We all have our own demons we’re fighting and are all going through something. Depression is a silent killer. So many are afraid to seek help because of the stigma and become isolated, only to die as a result. Sadly, Robin Williams was fighting against something we never knew about only to lose the fight to what ailed him inside. I pray he is at peace. Pray for his family.

The world can be so judgmental, cold, and calculating when hearing of news that alleges someone took their life. We must not judge but instead pray and celebrate their life. There’s a struggle inside each of us. God knows our struggles. He’s with us every step of the way. He will never leave us or forsake us. We may look well put together on the outside. We all have a story. No one knows what’s going on inside. What you see on the outside is God’s glory. Be watchful over one another. Pray for others. Lend a helping hand, not looking for anything in return. Do it in love. Do what pleases God.

While prayer is our ultimate source in things that concern us, mental illness is a disease that requires professional help. Pray and also seek help. We can never know what a person is going through. There’s someone fighting a battle harder than you. You never know. God does.  He’s there. Help someone in need. Spread love.

This is my prayer:

Father I come to you with a heavy heart, in prayer. There are people dying senseless, unexplained deaths in other parts of the world. The nation is in a crisis.  We need you now more than ever. Many are hurting. God help them. Some are troubled beyond repair and feel they’re alone with what they’re dealing with. Please watch over every family troubled by something that ails them. Cover those who feel they are not in control of what may be troubling them. Lord, I know you are a healer. I know when we are weak, your grace strengthens us. Where there is pain, Father God send healing. Be a present help. Where there’s doubt, send peace of mind, assurance. Where there is weakness, send strength and comfort. Father, we need your presence. The world is in disarray with many fighting against one another. God, I know many things happen for a reason and there is a time and season for everything. Whatever you’re doing in this season with all that’s going on, please don’t do it without us. We are covered by the blood. Angels go to work and intercede on behalf of the nation. In the name of Jesus I pray. Amen and amen.

Whatever God Puts Inside You, It Will Come Out You – The Seed of Greatness is Inside You!

wpid-img_20140630_185709.jpgWhen you find yourself waiting on God, be patient. God is faithful. God is working it out for his glory and for your greater good. All things work together for good. (Romans 8:28)

When it seems like things are not working out and your faith is being tested, it produces steadfastness. God’s working it out in your favor. Be encouraged. You’re blessed and highly favored.

When you’ve lost everything and feel there’s nothing to live for, it is where you will meet God and realize you have everything to live for.

It is God who is at work in you. He gives you the desire and the will to achieve his purpose. If you do God’s will, you will desire to do what he wants for his purpose. God says, ”And I will put my Spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes and be careful to obey my rules” (Ezekial 36:27).  The Holy Spirit dwells in you. Whatever he puts inside you, it will come out of you. The seed of greatness is inside you.

The seed was planted long ago. Whatever happens today has already been determined in the spiritual. God has a set time and place for it to happen in the natural. The place you’re in is for a purpose. God will fulfill his purpose.

You may feel you have been held captive for quite some time and waited years for something to happen. Then suddenly, there will come a day when you will be released from bondage and something amazing will happen. Be encouraged. All hope is not gone. You will experience visions from God. In your darkest hour is when you will hear from God.

You may not understand what it is you are to do while going through. Let me help you. Pray, meditate, study the Word. Thank God for the trials in spite of.

There’s purpose for your pain, process before promotion. Process before progress. Labor will be painful. God’s positioning you for elevation. Declare that you are in the right position to receive God’s blessings. Accept it. Walk in your destiny.

Storms Will Come, Rain Doesn’t Last Forever. Praise God No Matter the Season!

wpid-img_20140609_103823.jpgTo walk on water, you have to first get out the boat. God is able. All other ground is sinking sand. On Christ, the solid rock, stand!

Pick your battles today. You have a choice. To give in to the enemy and let him have his way or let God have His way. God has the final say.

If you were never sick, you wouldn’t know God could heal. He’s Jehovah Rapha. God is a healer. By his stripes you are healed.

If you were never broke, you wouldn’t know God could provide. God is Almighty. El Shaddai. He’s Jehovah Jireh. The Lord will provide.

If you were never in distress, weak, unwilling, you wouldn’t know God is able; willing. Jehovah Nissi, a strong tower. God has all power.

If you didn’t have no reason to please God, Satan wouldn’t give you the time of day. He looks for someone to devour every day. Shout glory!

You have a charge to keep. Be on one accord. Praise God. Magnify the Lord. Love others as Christ loves you. Please God in all you do.

The more you praise God, the more he manifests himself in you. If you abide in Him, He will abide in you. Bear good fruit. Do what God command you.

Be encouraged today. No matter what you may face, know God will make a way out of no way. God loves you. He will see for you.

Storms will come. Rain doesn’t last forever. God is the same today and yesterday and forever. Seasons change. So will you. God got you. Let everything that has breath praise the Lord. Give thanks to Almighty God.

Pray, Let God Have His Way

wpid-textgram_1386044142.pngWe live in a world that ideally, would have been perfect when God created it but in the beginning something happened at no fault of our own but because God had a greater purpose to be fulfilled.

We must examine the world we live in and use that as an example of what we will choose and allow to dictate our lives. There is too much going on in this world that we must not allow it to dictate our actions but instead allow God to guide us in it. Prayer is key. Opinions are important but should be done in private with God because what it will do is diminish the potential for greater conflict when we as humans misinterpret the thoughts or actions of others.

God is a God of order and peace, not the author of confusion. When we begin to expose our flaws, there is no peace nor is God in that situation. It doesn’t matter what the world may think of us, but what matters is what God thinks of us. This in turn should build the very foundation upon the manner in which we live, act, or think in every situation. We must go to God in private to express our fears, our flaws, and our frustration. The enemy comes to kill, steal, and destroy. When there’s no peace, there is no joy. We mustn’t work against one another but do our best to love one another just as God loves us.

When we find ourselves faced with conflict or adversity, the best response is to be silent and pray. Give our troubles to God and let him have his way. We are all flawed. We live in a fallen world but there is a God who has all power and is sovereign. He will and can fix any problem. It is up to us to let him. Ask God for forgiveness, then forgive yourself. Forgive others that you may be forgiven. Don’t give the enemy power God has already given.

Death and life are in the power of the tongue. In all things, let God’s will and not your will, be done. Speak not from emotions or feelings but from the heart. If that may seem impossible to do, take it to God in prayer. Let Him handle it.

“God I pray for healing, peace, comfort, and strength. Send fresh anointing. Where there is sickness send healing, where there is confusion send peace, where there is brokenness, set the captives free. Break every chain Lord, loose any and everything that is keeping us from bringing glory to you. Forgive us for we know not what we do. Let us find strength through you when the enemy comes seeking to destroy or take away what we know belongs to you. When we’ve done all we can do, we will stand. God I put it all in your hands. Let your will be done. We’re covered by the blood. Let not the troubles of this world consume us with evil deeds but fix our hearts and minds to do what pleases you. In all things, let us bring glory to you. We all are broken but we can be healed. God you are a mind regulator, a heart fixer, by your stripes we are healed. I lift every family in prayer. Keep watch over us. We are covered by the blood. In all things Father, I give you glory, honor, and praise. In Jesus name, I pray. Amen.

Prayer Warriors, Pastors, Clergy, and Others, Please Pray for the Victims

Prayer For the VictimsCharge this to my head and not my heart as I sit with a heavy laden heart. Haven’t been in the news, but just saw the news report of Typhoon Haiyan in the Philippines. My mind is reeling. Destruction across the land again has occurred. Roads, homes, bridges, and the lives of many have been destroyed.

The death toll continues to rise after an estimated 10,000 reported deaths yesterday. Towns and villages have been ravaged, people have been displaced. God we desperately need your presence in this place.

“God you are merciful. Send relief to Philippine Typhoon Haiyan victims. Prayer warriors, pastors, clergy, and others, please pray for the survivors and the victims. God please be with each family in the face of devastation who are now displaced because of this tsunami like tragedy. Please keep watch over them. Protect and cover them.

Send fresh anointing. Jesus, cover them from head to toe. Be the light. Be a fence all around them from the top, to the bottom, in front, on side, and below. Father, dispatch your angels. You know every need. Provide shelter, food, water, medicine, and clothing. Supply every need. Through the efforts of volunteers and hidden angels they may not know, let many across the nation be a blessing to the families through seeds sown. May there be an outpour of blessings and abundance of support for all who have been affected. God, guide them to a place of safety. Assure them they are protected. Let God’s shield of faith provide protection. Send comfort, peace, strength, and healing. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.”

Nothing can ever compare to an experience like this or for ones who have experienced storms and devastation such as this. While I am not a victim of such, my families were victims to Katrina and I lived through that experience with them. I know what life was and still is like for them. Nor will I forget victims who have been affected by storms, tsunamis, earthquakes, or any other devastating act of nature across the nation. My prayers, as always, are with each and every family across the nation.

For those of you who desire to help the victims in any way or if you or anyone you know has been affected by the Typhoon Haiyan in the Philippines, please find an agency near you to show your support.

Pray, Stay Connected

Prayer is the pathway for a loving and working relationship with God. Through prayer, we grow in our love for him and our knowledge of God. Prayer is our direct line of ongoing communication with the Father. It never stops; nor should we. Keep the lines open between you and the Father. We are privileged. Pray without ceasing.

There may be some painful parts of your past you wish to forget. It was good you were afflicted. God allowed it that you may be blessed.

You may have been hurt by ones who walked out of your life. God allowed affliction to remove ones he knew were not meant for your destiny that no longer needed to be a part of your life. When God allows affliction, promotion will follow. Painful lessons are necessary. It’s required. You may go through some things. Life may not seem fair. Know God is with you. God’s there.
Run the race. Stand on the promises of God.  You will find deliverance. You will make it there. Trust in God.

God will supply all your needs. God knows what it is you need. Jesus tells us not to worry about the needs that God promises to supply (Matt 6:25). Don’t worry and allow it to disrupt or ruin your life.

Worry can affect your health and can consume your thoughts that will impact you negatively. It will disrupt your ability to sustain and live freely. You will become stagnated in productivity.  It can affect how you treat others. Negativity will hinder your ability to prosper.

Discern the difference between worry and genuine concern. “Worry immobilizes, but concern moves you into action (6:25).” When you know what you can do, that’s in your control, and what you are capable of doing, do it. Take action. When you know what is not in your control, what you are not capable of and cannot do, give it to God. Let him have control. Let Him do. God has all control. Do your best. Let God handle the rest.

Pain can hurt and negatively affect your life. Worry can disrupt your life. Don’t let it consume you. God is with you. The Lord will provide. God is Jehovah Jireh. He is our provider.

Prayer is the key. Faith unlocks the door. Cast all your cares upon the Lord. Don’t worry about a thing. Don’t let your past hinder you. Give it all to God. Surrender. Trust in God’s will for you.

Pray, stay connected. Talk to God all day. Release the pain that has you disconnected. Praise God, no matter your circumstance today. Give thanks for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you. There’s purpose in your praise. Praise God for all he has done, what he will do, and what he is going to do!

But finally he said to himself, ‘Even though I don’t fear God or care what people think, yet because this widow keeps bothering me, I will see that she gets justice, so that she won’t eventually come and attack me!’” And the Lord said, “Listen to what the unjust judge says. And will not God bring about justice for his chosen ones, who cry out to him day and night? Will he keep putting them off? I tell you, he will see that they get justice, and quickly. However, when the Son of Man comes, will he find faith on the earth?”

Calling All Prayer Warriors, Please Say a Prayer

Our Thoughts And Prayers Are With You #2I know this picture looks familiar but with all that is going on in the world the past few days. I couldn’t help but share a revised copy of it again today. In remembrance of those who have lost loved ones. To let them know we’re thinking of and praying for them.

There are times when I can’t look at the news and find myself far removed from things that trouble me. But today was a day I couldn’t help but hear and see news of violent storms and yet again unspeakable tragedy. That took the lives of innocent people in a certain part of the nation. Now my heart is saddened and my soul has been stirred and shaken.

Once again tragedy has struck and taken lives of the innocent. God, I know I mustn’t ask when it all will end, because some things will continue to happen because of the fallen world we live in. I can’t keep up with all that’s going on in the world. The best thing I can do is pray for the loss of innocent souls. As well as those whose mind may have left momentarily because of the enemy, who may have convinced them only to confuse them that their life and the life of others needed to end.

Father, please forgive them for they know not what they do. Father, I ask that you cover them because of what they unknowingly may have done to hurt others and disobey you. I pray for the family who is now left bewildered and distraught and left behind. Trying to figure out what happened to bring about this tragic time.

My prayers are with the victims and families of senseless tragedies and violent storms that continue to occur across the nation. God send comfort, peace, and healing in light of devastation. Jesus, be a fence. May the blood of the Lamb protect them. I pray for strength of families who have lost loved ones, no matter the circumstance which they’ve lost loved ones. God calm the troubled waters of those who will cry endlessly, because of pain felt so deeply. Heal the hearts of those who may feel distraught, because of a void that has left a hole in their hearts. Peace be still. Heal their hearts.

God I know you are healer. You are a strong tower. You are God Almighty in every waking hour. Surround the homes of every family and friend. Dispatch angels of mercy to cover them. Your grace is sufficient no matter the tide. Let the hearts of those affected by tragedy be healed in the face of those who have been hurt, who are lost, or who have died. You are God all by yourself. For every family across the nation you are a present help. This is my prayer I pray. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.

Here’s a candle and a comforting scripture to let you know across the nation we are saying a prayer and thinking of you. We are praying for you.

Calling all prayer warriors, please say a prayer. Light a candle. Let them know God is there. Say a prayer for every family and victim across the nation everywhere. “For where two or three gather in my name, there am I with them” (Matt 18:20). God hears the prayers of the righteous. May the peace of God be with them.

Don’t Let Fear Immobilize Your Faith

Fear is an intrusion of the mind that will detour the journey and rob you of life’s treasures if you let it. God did not give us that spirit. We’re the elect, sealed with God’s Holy Spirit. His seal can never be broken. Those who have true faith are indeed content. Faith is evidence.

Fear is the opposite of faith. Without faith, are half-truths that convince us to believe in untruths. Faith is not based on proof. Its evidence unseen in what we believe. God’s Word is truth.

Faith is the gift of God. Faith is the faith of God’s elect, evidence of electing grace. We are blessed because we believe that the Lord will do what he said. God operates in faith. What God starts, he finishes. Faith is a fruit. Believing is evidence.

While our spirit is lifeless as human beings, our spirit by our own doing cannot be resurrected or regenerated. We cannot do this alone. We need God to change it. If we accept the gift of Jesus dying on the cross, the Holy Spirit will come to live within us. God will resurrect our spirit. The Holy Spirit will dwell within us.

Prayer unlocks the door to life’s mysteries. It can open doors to endless possibilities. Prayer is the key that unlocks faith. Prayer works.

Prior to taking a turnaround road trip with my girls to the beach at Mission Bay in San Diego the other day, when I was asked if I wanted to go I was apprehensive. I started thinking about how it may impact my body given it was a long ride and the fact I had not taken a long road trip in over 15+ years since being diagnosed with Fibromyalgia amongst other things. I began having fears, couldn’t sleep thinking so much about “what if.” What if the pain, irritation, and inflammation became a problem? What if my legs started cramping and hurting given the time I had to sit? What if, what if, what if? Fear began to consume me.

I had to redirect my thoughts and finally said, “I’ll go to God in prayer.” Interesting enough, the next day was the day to go and I woke up with excitement as if nothing had ever crossed my mind, ready to go; with the exception of finding a few things to take with me. My daughter arrived to pick up my other daughter, walks in, and sees me. I’m up in the wee hours of the morning and she says, “You’re going? Good!” I was happy.

Turned out to be a great trip no matter how short it was. And I did well in spite of. It was my first time and I truly enjoyed it. Now I’m anticipating another trip in the future. I’ve talked with them to make plans already. And to think, had I let my fears overcome me, I would not have been able to speak about this today. But instead would have dwelled on regrets out of my staying.

When you travel to other places, you get to see how others live in a different place. Makes you appreciate that much more what you have and learn not to become complacent. When traveling, it takes longer to reach your destination than it does to come back because you don’t know where you’re going. You will go through some things in the midst of the journey. There may be hills, mountains, detours, and change in directions, but eventually you will arrive at your destination.

Much like with God, when you don’t know him. It may take a long time to get on the right path to get where you’re going before you get to know him. You’ll go through some things to get there. There will be valleys to go through, hills to climb, and burdens to bear. But you’re not alone. With God, you’ll get there.

Once you find your way to God it is easy when coming to him, just as it is in finding your way back when you’ve gone away from him. God is always available no matter how long it may take coming or going. Even when you know God and lose your way, it may take long but with faith you will find your way. You’ll go through some things. But eventually you’ll come back to Him again.

Faith is the substance of things we hope for, evidence of things we cannot see. Overcome fear of the unknown. Release it.  God is with you. Come as you are. He is ready to receive you. Don’t let fear overrule your life. Have faith. Allow God to come into your life. Faith is not based on proof. It is belief in what you cannot see that is not proof. It is evidence built upon the foundation of God’s Word. Trust God. Believe in His Word. Let go of fear. God operates in faith.

Don’t let fear immobilize your faith.

My Prayer for Today

I woke up with this on my heart, armed with God’s mighty weapons of warfare today. Because the enemy’s in full force and he didn’t come to play.

He’s come to kill, steal, and destroy. We mustn’t let him steal our joy. He knows we are believers. We’re covered by the blood. He knows we are children of God.

He’s pulling every trick in the book to divide us. That he may separate us from that which God has predestined, foreknew, and preplanned that concerns us. But he doesn’t stand a chance. No weapon, formed against us shall prosper.  Devil, you’ve been served notice today. We bind you under our feet as I pray:

Father, I come to you in the name of Jesus not asking for anything. But thanking you in advance for everything. Command the enemy to flee. Place him under our feet. Cancel every assignment. Erase self-doubt. Go through every house. Lord God, send healing, deliverance and provision in our time of need. Father you know what it is we need.

Meet every need in your provision. Let us not lose trust in Your Divine Providence. Dispatch your angels to protect us. We are covered by the blood of Jesus. I come against every lying tongue that rise against us shall not prosper. We are more than conquerors.

The race isn’t given to the swift, battle to the strong, but to those who will endure. Bless your name Lord. Father, I thank you for brand new grace and mercies. Thank you for waking us up on this side of heaven. Thank you for loving and blessing us. Your love endures forever.

Lord, help us to recognize and discern when people come into our life they are there to perfect us, because they are not perfect. You will make our way perfect. God, I thank you for perfecting in them and me, in the midst of our trials even when we cannot see. The Spirit of Holiness that dwell within me. Send fresh anointing as we make our way. Lord Jesus, have your way in this place today. Father God I thank you, glorify you, and magnify your name.

I pray this prayer, in Jesus name. Amen.

Whew…. Now I feel better! Praise the Lord.

Praying and Thinking of You

In my experience, I have seen numerous events like 9/11 attacks that have caused the nation to grieve, and in time recover and find healing and peace. Nothing will ever compare to it. But this past week has been overwhelming. To see and hear breaking news reports every day has taken its toll on many, including me. It has been a dramatic, draining week. With news reports that have either startled or disturbed me. It is has been devastating.

It began on Monday with the Boston marathon explosion and as a result of the deadly attacks, three people were killed and 176 wounded. Then there was news of a poisoned letter sent to the President, the Texas fertilizer plant explosion that killed at least 14 people and parts of a community is now missing, and a powerful earthquake in China that killed 156 people and 5,500 injured with a number of people still missing.

With the week ending in a shootout and firing of explosives where more victims were hurt or killed, and lock down of a city in the attempt to capture those who were responsible for Monday’s Boston marathon tragic event. Innocent lives being taken, many critically injured or wounded and still there’s an unspecified number of people still not accounted for in many events that have been reported.

In all my years, I don’t recall ever having witnessed such chaos and confusion seen consistently as I’ve seen this past week. Sadly, we don’t what will come next or what will happen in the coming weeks. All we can do is be prepared mentally and not react to what we continue to see. The best response is to pray for the families hurting, the weak and the weary, and ones grieved.

Pray for loved ones, lost ones, and families across the nation. They are going through a difficult time. Make a faith declaration. To show your trust and faith in what you believe; God, even thought we cannot see Him. Keep the victims and families who have experienced tragedy in prayer every day. God will make a way.

Unfortunately, the events sadly may now lead to fear and avoidance for some, where many may become afraid to leave their homes. There are some who now do not feel safe and are afraid to return to the place they once felt safe. The place they called home before the earthquake. There may be a rise in the incidence of people who may begin to avoid crowds, minimize or change they way do things in the wake of what’s happening now.

Sadly, tragedies have occurred that will hurt generations for years to come but let it not put fear in our hearts because of what others have done.

However, let this be a time where we reinforce our values and things we hold dear and near to our heart. To live in peace with one another in spite our feeling overwrought, in light of the world that seems to be ripping apart.

Guard your heart. Let God be your guide. Avoid anger, temptation, and pride. Do as God’s Word instructs, “Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as Christ God forgave you” (Ephesians 4:32). Strive for contentment no matter what others do.

In every situation no matter what you may face, keep your mind and thoughts in the right place. Don’t give up. But continue to run the race. Praise God no matter what you may face. “Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things” (Philippians 4: 8).

Keep the families and victims in your thoughts and prayers. Pray that God comforts and strengthen them during their times of despair.
