What If I Told You God Says You Are Called To Be a Peculiar People Made To Stand Out, Not Fit In. Would You Believe Me?

Your Fullest Potential JoaynnWhat do you do when you find yourself believing in a dream and you’re convinced you are made to stand out, not fit in? Nor are you designed to be like everybody else?

But you’re constantly reminded you should fit in and adapt to the world’s methods or standards and do what they’re doing in order to find the same success.

Well….do you believe it and try to find your own success because you chose to be like everyone else? Or do you wait on God? Well….here’s what I believe.

To meet with obstacles at every attempt to make your plan work is God saying “not yet.” Be patient. My plan will come to pass. Have faith. Trust my timing. The more you tell God “I’m not ready” and stay in your comfort zone, the more He will move you into your destiny and show himself strong. Oftentimes in your most difficult struggle you will find your greatest strength. Your struggle becomes your passion.

When you’re given an opportunity to do something out of your comfort zone you know is orchestrated by God, do it. Walk by faith, not by sight. God is leading you in the right direction. Press on. He promises all things work together for the greater good. And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose. (Romans 8:28). Believe!

What if I told you God says you are fearfully and wonderfully made? Aren’t you called to be a peculiar people for God? Didn’t God give you a vision? YOU were called by God.

Don’t choose to listen to the opinions of others only to stagnate your growth. Do not conform. Be transformed by the renewing of your mind. The vision is yet for the appointed time. God promise it will surely come. Keep the faith. It will surely come.

Be blessed! – JD

No Matter the Situation, Trust God. Declare In Your Weakest Moments, Yet Will I Trust Him

wpid-img_20150320_200055.jpgSometimes, to find your own peace, you have to make the decision to remove yourself from the equation and let God do what he knows best. You have to decide what to add or subtract from your life that serves no purpose.

God promises it will work for the greater good. And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose (Romans 8:28)

I have been traveling what I find is one of the most difficult, confusing, lengthy journeys I have ever encountered in my life. I have been through many things and can count the times I have faced adversity, questionable trials, and unexpected tribulations hindering my ability to move forward. However, in this particular season of my life, I cannot even begin to explain or understand the depth of my journey and at times question my worthiness. While I know it’s never for me to understand all that God does, yet will I trust Him.

I probably say this more often than most so please excuse me. I have to be honest with myself. Every day I struggle with giving up and going back to what is familiar. I say to myself, it’s easier to give in and settle. But when I sit and do nothing, it doesn’t feel right. I just cannot sit and do nothing. I feel out of place. I cannot settle being comfortable or complacent. God chose me. I cannot go back to way it used to be.

It is then I realize when I am discouraged or frustrated, sometimes I have to get to a place where I sit in pure silence without any distractions to hear from God. And every time I talk about quitting or giving up, when I pray I must listen for that still small voice. God gives me a revelation letting me know he has a different plan. I must keep the faith and learn to be obedient.

God doesn’t want our sacrifice. He wants our obedience. What good are works if you don’t have faith? Honor God with obedience not your works. Without faith it’s impossible to please God. We must be obedient to the Spirit. Do what God tells you to do, and not what your will tells you.

In our deepest moments of pain and suffering when we can’t see God in anything, declare, yet will I trust Him. God is just a prayer away. Pray. God is always listening. He may not come when you want him but he’s always on time. Trust Him. He will answer.

Be blessed! –JD

1 Corinthians 10:13 “No temptation has overtaken you that is not common to man. God is faithful, and he will not let you be tempted beyond your ability, but with the temptation he will also provide the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it.” (ESV)

Stay focused. God has given you the power and authority to trample on snakes and scorpions!

wpid-img_20140405_101554.jpgWhen we have godly wisdom, wise counsel from loved ones will make a difference. And will lead us to make wise decisions even when we aren’t aware of the reason.

I had an epiphany the other day when talking to my mother and couldn’t help but share my thoughts, along with her words of wisdom that touched my heart.

My mom told me a story about a man who found a snake ill in front his home. He took him in and cared for him and nursed him back to health. Once the snake was well and back to his old self, he turned around and bit the man. The man asked him, “Why did you bite me after all I did for you?” The snake answered, “You knew who I was before you helped me.” End of story.

When people show you who they are, believe them. No matter how much you may help them, you can’t change them. Be careful of the people you let in your inner circle and ones you associate with. Everybody is not your friend. Be conscious of and know the difference between acquaintances and true friends. Use godly wisdom and discernment. God will show you who they are. There is a ram in the bush (Genesis 22:13). It is the Lord your God who goes before you. He is with you. He will not forsake you.

Snakes in the grass will slither and try to sneak up on you only to hurt you or frustrate your purpose to keep it from being fulfilled. Don’t try to handle it yourself. Do as Paul did when the snake bit him. He did not suffer any ill effects (Acts 28:3-5). He remained faithful in his service to God and allowed Him to intervene. God protected him. Believe. Fully trust in Him.

Be prepared when the snake comes to kill, steal, and destroy. Arm yourself with prayer. We have power over evil spirits. Put on the full armor of God. Don’t be afraid of snakes in the grass. Fight the enemy with the word. God is sovereign. Take him at his word. He’s faithful. Let him intervene. He can and will protect you from any and everything.

One of the greatest challenges when your faith is tested will be who you choose to trust. The enemy will persuade you. Resist. God got you!

Do your best to help others. Stay focused. God has given you the power and authority to trample on snakes and scorpions. God’s wonder works in and through you. Snakes can be stopped in their tracks too. Remember, God has all power. Trust in Him no matter what the enemy tries to do to you. You will defeat the enemy. God will see for you.

Be blessed! -JD

Don’t Worry About the Devil. He’ll Lie to You… God’s Word is Truth!

wpid-textgram_1396154998.pngGreater is he that is in you than he that is in the world. The devil doesn’t want you to believe that at all. He wants you to fail. God won’t let you. God is faithful. He got you!

Don’t worry about the devil. He’ll lie to you. Trust in God. God’s Word is truth.

Be blessed! -JD

If The Devil is Picking On You, Rejoice! God is Setting You Up for a Greater Reward!

wpid-textgram_1394581638.pngWhen God has his hands on you and trouble beseech you in attempt to destroy your ministry, something in your spirit will not let you give in to it. The Word still will go forth because God will see to it.

The devil was alive and well during my trip home. He came at me from every angle and wouldn’t leave me alone. I went to God in deep meditation. I didn’t murmur a word. I sat and read God’s Word. I shared what He sent as a message for others to hear. The devil came at me full force. God took it from there.

For a moment, I became so frustrated and at that time made a hasty decision to stop ministering and witnessing to others on social media because I felt it was taking too much from my inner strength to deal with the conflict that continually surrounded me. All I wanted was peace. When in a fact, I did have peace. But my mind tried to convince me otherwise. The devil is the father of lies!

I told my friends and family, “I will be taking a sabbatical…in the next few days but wanted to express my sincere thanks to friends and family who have supported me in this journey. My hope is that God will continue to use me no matter where I may find myself that he may be glorified. I will keep each and every one of you in prayer and please continue to pray for me.”

A few days passed and something just would not let me go through with it. Knowing God had the final say in it. The Word still will go forth because God will see to it. This is what the devil wanted, to silence me. And thought he would win. I’m being set up for a greater blessing. Sorry devil… God wins! While I will not stop spreading the gospel or bring forth messages of inspiration and encouragement I know God has given me the ability to do. I will minimize my presence for the moment to spend some alone time with God, as he continues to reconcile and restore me. Until then, what I know is this:

God is loving, kind, merciful. He does not falter. He is perfect. Every good and perfect thing comes from Him. He is, “I AM WHO I AM” (Ex 3:14). People may disappoint you. They may never have your best interest at heart. God loves you. He will always have your best interest at heart. God is a good God. He’s faithful. His character does not change. Jesus is the same yesterday, today, and forever (Heb 13:8). He never changes.

When you feel lost in a sea of brokenness, God will heal your wounds and restore you. God will bind up your wounds. He will heal your heart. Speak life into your situation that it may help you. People or the situation may never change but you can change in it. With God, he will change you in it. Delight yourself in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart. Commit your way to the Lord; trust in him, and he will act (Ps 37:4-5).

When you are going through and it seems like no one is there for you. God is. He will never forsake you. He’s always with you. There is someone somewhere fighting a battle harder than you or me. They are in a fight for their life, trying to make it. Pray for them. It is the Lord who goes before you. He will be with you; he will not leave you or forsake you. Do not fear or be dismayed (Dt 31:8). Know that God is with you always.

If the devil is picking on you, rejoice! God is setting you up for a greater reward!

Be blessed! -JD

Luke 6:22-2322 You are blessed when people hate you, when they exclude you, insult you, and slander your name as evil because of the Son of Man 23 Rejoice in that day and leap for joy! Take note–your reward is great in heaven, for this is the way their ancestors used to treat the prophets.” (HCSB)

Have Faith the Size of a Mustard Seed. God Will Work It Out for the Greater Good

wpid-textgram_1393467957.pngSometimes in the journey we have to walk alone, with no distractions to hear from God. He needs our full attention, to reveal his plan to us. Be willing to pay attention, to discern the plan God is preparing towards your destiny.

Joyce Meyer held a free conference in my city last week and when I received the email I sat and wondered how I would get there. I wanted so badly to be in attendance because I had never seen her in person but only by television during her Everyday Enjoying Life segments and because I do not drive at the moment, I didn’t have a clue as to what to do.

About two days before the event, I rattled my brains to see how I would do it. I checked the website for days and times and saw there were four: Thursday at 7 pm, Friday at 10 am, and Saturday at 10 am and 7 pm. I thought, the night sessions would be too late during the week to ask my friends to take me who I sometimes ride with to church or my children because they would be at work and would not be able to take me during the morning sessions. But something would not let me rest.

When I saw the 10 am session I was ecstatic! I thought “I can do this” and began to put a plan into action. I would catch the bus. Now the bus ride is about one hour away from where I live but it didn’t matter. I can sit sometimes for an hour before my symptoms flare up, and the distance to transfer from one bus to another was minimal. I mapped out a plan. I woke up about 5:30 the next morning, got dressed, and asked my daughter to drop me off at the bus stop around 7:00 am to make it there at least by 8:30 so I can get a seat since we were advised to arrive at least two hours early.

When I got there, I wasn’t sure where to sit so I asked one of the volunteer ushers if the seats in front were available. He said some were reserved but he had one seat left if I wanted it. At first I was hesitant because I wanted to be right in the middle of the arena so I could see Ms. Meyer and feel like the people I have always watched in the audience when watching her show. Silly me…. well, after a few seconds of thinking about it, I jumped at the chance and was led to my seat.

Blessed! I sat in the second row from the front, four seats from the end to the left and two seats to the right of staff members from Joyce Meyer Ministries. I saw cameras everywhere and wondered if I would be on any of them. Not really…. . None of that mattered and was not important to me. The most important thing for me that day was how grateful I was to God that I stepped out on faith and followed his lead. Glory!

The session was amazing! I praised, worshiped, and cried. I thanked God for bringing me this far alone. As I began to think about the many times I became frustrated at my inability to attend conferences such as this because I couldn’t get there only to wish I could, I realized God needed to get me alone to show me his power to know it would work out for my good. He knows my heart and my desire to serve him in a greater capacity than what I am accustomed to. He knows what I can and cannot do. Thankful he knew and showed me what to do.

God needed to take me out of my comfort zone, remove the fear I have lived with for some time, and get me alone to show me what he’s preparing ahead for me in the midst of the storm. Being able to get out of my bed and get there in spite of my suffering was just the beginning. It felt so good to be out on my own doing what I love to do, giving honor, praise and glory to God outside of where I have become comfortable.

On my way home, deep inside I felt as though my life changed that day. God moved in a mighty way. I no longer was afraid to step out of what was unfamiliar to me and I did what I thought was impossible because I trusted God’s leading.

Sometimes in the journey we have to walk alone, with no distractions to hear from God. He needs our full attention, to reveal his plan to us. Be willing to pay attention, to discern the plan God is preparing towards your destiny.

I had one of the best times in a long time I could ever think of in my life. I kept thanking God for giving me the strength to be around other worshipers in spite of strife. Now I look forward to what’s to come. I am thankful, assured God’s will will be done.

Be blessed! -JD

Dear God, I’m Fearless, Free; Chains No Longer Bind Me!

Dear God,

Dear GodTen years ago I lived in fear. Instead of being fearless, I allowed the enemy to cause me to lose myself and live in fear. You see, I was afraid. I lost material possessions and my health was affected not because of me. But because of things which I had no control and I blamed everyone instead of myself. I could not find fault in me. I even lost you. And to make matters worse, I wasn’t afraid of you. In fact I was afraid of what people would think of me because of what I didn’t have or what I could no longer do for them. I was not concerned about what I could do for you. I was more concerned about them.

In the beginning I had many, many regrets and blamed everyone else for my anguish. There were people who walked out of my life I thought I needed for my provision. However you came and taught me it was you and only you I needed for my provision.

So, today I began to reflect on my life and decided to write a letter to the devil. I expressed the joy I’ve found in you and how you’ve changed my life forever. I told him, I broke up with my past long time ago. I threw away things that continued to hold me back that I felt needed to go. I laughed at him and declared disappointments won’t make me miss my destiny. I said to him, “Devil, you no longer have control. What God has for me is for me.”

I parted ways with my haters when I asked God to show me my friends. I looked around and realized over the years I started losing friends. It didn’t take long. They left me.  I began to celebrate myself in victory. Glory! I’m free. Chains no longer bind me.

I then began to think, being a Christian doesn’t mean we have all the answers because we know God. In fact we don’t know the answers but have faith and trust in God. God knows what lies ahead in our future.  No matter what happens when life changes, we must place our faith in Him and what he has prepared for us. He knows the plans he has for our future.

Take it from me. Don’t allow your disability to disable you to do, whatever it is your body may be physically capable of what God knows you can do. Be strong. Do what you know God has called you to do. When we know God and we know the word and what He instructs us to do, at no time should we ever have to ask ourselves, “What Would Jesus Do?”

I used to wake wondering, asking God how long, when will this end? Now I wake with a renewed spirit, my soul cries “Yes” not wanting it to end. All you’ve been through. Testify, even when the devil tries to ruin you. You’re a witness. Praise God. The battle is not yours, it’s the Lord’s.

Stop expecting from others what you know you won’t get from them. You will always be disappointed in them. Do what God expects from you. Revere him. This is what he desires from you. Relationships will end for different reasons every day. Whatever the reason, God uses people in our lives for his purpose to see his glory. You mustn’t focus on what was or what could have been or what you think should be. Look to God. Have faith. Know that God will do it. Believe!

The place where you are right now, in the midst of what you think are problems, really is God perfecting you, preparing you for greater. If God doesn’t do anything else, he’s done more than enough. Praise him in advance for what he’s doing, what he’s going to do, and for what he’s done.

God led me out of wilderness. He broke the shackles from my feet. Chains no longer bind me. Devil, I no longer live in fear. I’m no longer afraid. I’m free. I am fearless! Glory!

Be blessed! -JD

If You Believe

When you see a person with a smile on their face every day even in times of despair, it’s the measure of their faith in God that works within.

When you see a person who constantly has love in their hearts and encouragement for others, it is the love of God that resides in their heart.

No matter the circumstance, their hope is in the Lord. Not in what you see, but in what they believe. They have faith the size of a mustard seed.

They trust God completely with everything. Their confidence shows in the blessing God brings. For they know nothing’s too hard for God. They are hopeful in the Lord.

This is the attitude we should have every day. Regardless, of what comes what may. Our love will show in all we do. The love of God will shine through. And we too can bear fruit.

The branch cannot bear fruit in itself, unless it abides in the vine. It is divine. Jesus is the vine. We are the fruit. Abide in him and he will abide in you.

Jeremiah 17:7-8 “Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord, And whose hope is in the Lord. 8 For he shall be like a tree planted by the waters, Which spreads out its roots by the river, And will not fear when heat comes; But its leaf will be green, And will not be anxious in the year of drought, Nor will cease from yielding fruit.”
