Stay Woke! Keep Watch. Remain Vigilant. Watch out for Judases and Peters.

Stay Woke JoaynnStay woke! Who is your Judas, your Peter? Ones who have betrayed you or those who have denied you? Were you surprised by the betrayal or the denial? Did it hurt your heart? Were you disappointed in those who say they are devoted to Christ but their claims are meaningless when they are tested in the ordeal of persecution?

I ask these questions because inquiring minds want to know. How do you handle a Judas or a Peter in your life when you least expect it and are surprised by it?

God never ceases to amaze me. For some reason as I woke to begin my daily Bible reading in the Book of Luke, Chapter 22, I was led to Mark 14, the Death and Resurrection of Jesus, The Servant. As I’m reading the chapter, I noticed some similarities to the conversation I had with God moments earlier. I had a revelation. After my talk with God, I had a revelation and said out loud, “Stay Woke. Keep your eyes open. Don’t be surprised when people show you who they are. Believe them.”

Let me digress. When I woke this morning I started talking to God. I explained to him the difficulty I am having with the element of surprise. Because I don’t like surprises. I don’t deal well with it. I want to know everything there is to know right in that moment and not be surprised by anything. I explained to him how disappointed I am in people who surprise me when they show me who they are and I don’t want to believe it because of who I think they are when fooled by who they really are.

For the past five days I rose 3:00 am or 4:00 am in the morning wondering, asking God, “Why am I woke this early?! Today, I learned he was trying to tell me something. I wasn’t paying attention because my mind was heavily focused on the past event of the untimely passing of my father two and half weeks ago, of which I was surprised by. Just as I was with the untimely passing of my mother 2+ years ago. And there it was, the element of “Surprise” staring me in my face. It occurred to me God is dealing with me in this area. Okay God. I’m paying attention.

In this life there will be some Judases and Peters who will either betray you at your most vulnerable stage when you are going through what seems insurmountable to overcome or they will deny you in times of great stress only to leave you vulnerable to temptation. Even when your spirit is willing, but your body is weak (Mark 14:38).

Good news! Jesus explains in Mark 14:33 – 38; 40, 41 how to resist. “Keep watch – stay awake and be morally vigilant. Pray to God – this is how you maintain vigilance. Seek support of friends and loved ones – this is how you build up your resistance and help others. Focus on the purpose God has given you – this is how you do God’s will and not your own.” That’s some great advice!

Nothing in this life should surprise you. No circumstance, situation, person, place, or thing. When the surprise comes, even if your spirit is willing and the flesh may be weak, don’t fall into the trap of temptation. Don’t let the element of surprise fool you. Stay focused. Keep your mind right. Do as Jesus taught you. Pray to God. Seek friends and loved ones who support you. Accept it for what it is and move on. It’s life.

Surprises are part of the process. So are disappointments. Don’t become consumed by it. You may become overwhelmed when in distress or stressed.

STAY WOKE, KEEP WATCH, REMAIN VIGILANT!

Be blessed! – JD

Mark 14: 37 “Then he returned to his disciples and found them sleeping. “Simon,” he said to Peter, “are you asleep? Could you not keep watch for one hour? 38 Watch and pray so that you will not fall into temptation. The spirit is willing, but the body is weak.” (NIV)

Has Satan Confronted You Today? What Are You Wearing? The Full Armor of God or Your Bad Attitude at the Complaint Window?

Sharpen Your Sword Joaynn.pngHave you sharpened your sword today with the word of God? To counter against the attacks of the enemy? Not just by knowing or quoting a verse but reading Scripture daily and applying it to your life? Do you have faith in God’s promises even though Satan also knows Scripture and is clever at twisting God’s Word to suit his purpose? Are you ready?

What we know about Satan, he is consistent. He constantly fights against God and never misses an opportunity to fight against those who follow and obey God. He never misses a moment to devour, distract, and destroy your witness. You got to stay ready.

The Word of God is the only offensive and effective weapon to fight against the silly antics of the devil. Put on the full armor of God. Stand your ground. Stand on the word! Buckle your waist with the belt of truth, breastplate of righteousness, fit your feet and stay ready with what comes from the gospel of peace. “Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one” (Ephesians 6:13-17). Don’t give in or give up. Pray without ceasing!

Throughout our ministry, in our circumstances and our situation, and life we will constantly be confronted by Satan to make us change our minds about God’s promises. We need to constantly be on guard against the enemy’s attacks knowing they are not “a once and for all” occurrence. They don’t happen and then stop for good. They are ongoing. Satan will not stop coming after you or resist the opportunity to make you question what you know to be true about God so that he can get you to do what he wants. Rebuke that spirit! Come against, condemn every lying tongue that shall rise against you in judgment. No weapon formed against you shall prosper!

Be blessed! – JD

Ephesians 6:11, 12 “Put on the full armor of God so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. 12For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. (NIV)

What Are You Waiting For? Waiting On? When Are You Just Going To Do It?!!

Special Purpose JoaynnWhat do you do when you find yourself waiting on special conditions to begin something that may never come because you are waiting on something to happen that may never exist? Time waits for no one or nothing. We’ve got to be ready for whatever comes.

Oftentimes we sit and wonder about things we desire to do but believe we need the perfect time or the perfect resources to do it with. We are waiting on the perfect time and place to realize our dreams or put into action the very things we are believing God for when in actuality, it may never happen because we put conditions on God and what he will and can do.

As such, if we wait for a perfect time and place to accomplish anything the time will never be right to do it. If we wait for the perfect time to read our Bible, we’ll never begin if it’s not the second thing we do after prayer. If we wait for the perfect time to start our ministry we will never serve. If we wait for the perfect opportunity to grow, we will never mature. What are we waiting for? The perfect time may never come because the perfect time does not exist.

Stop looking for the perfect time to do something, and just do it!

Be blessed! – JD

Ecclesiastes 11:4 “If you wait for perfect conditions, you will never get anything done.” [a] (TLB)

Footnotes: Ecclesiastes 11:4 If you wait for perfect conditions, you will never get anything done, literally, “He that observeth the wind shall not sow, and he that regardeth the clouds shall not reap.”

Stop Asking God for Stuff You’re Not Supposed to Have! Whatever You Are Believing God For, If It Doesn’t Come From Him, You Don’t Want It!

Already Blessed JoaynnGod gives us gifts for free that cannot be earned. He did not give it to us for our own benefit. Your gift is to be used to glorify God. Let that marinate for a second.

Oftentimes we hear others profess, “your gift will make room for you” (Proverbs 18:16) but do you really know what it means to you and the vision God has given you to fulfill his purpose on this earth that he may be glorified? Here’s my thoughts:

Every person on this earth has a gift or talent God has put inside you that the world will make room for. It will enable you to fulfill your vision. A way will be made for you in your life. But in order for it to do these things, you have to exercise the gift. It cannot lay dormant while you wait for something to happen just because God gave it to you. He expects you to do something with it.

When you put to use the gift God has given you to fulfill your vision he gave you, you will find true contentment, purpose, and fulfillment in the work you have been called to do to build God’s kingdom. Every good and perfect gift is from above. Whatever you are meant to have, God will send it.

What do you do when you know you have a gift from God and you’ve worked every area of your gift only to find you are not seeing any results? Do you believe, “your gift will make room for you” when you’ve ran out of room to exercise your gift because you keep doing things your way and not God’s way?

The Bible does not tell us the cars we drive, the education we have acquired, the houses we own, shoes or clothes we wear, looks we have been blessed with, or the titles we hold will make room for us. But the “GIFT” does. Society wants us to believe these things are the key to our success, when in fact it can have the opposite effect. Change your perspective. Think on this.

God’s ways are not our ways. His thoughts are not our thoughts. If you are not exercising your gift in alignment to his word, his way, and his will, the idea of what the world believes is success will never happen the way God intended. Your GIFT is the key to your success. Get out the “my way of thinking and wanting what I want box” and develop your gift, discover it, and manifest it.

Suppose you took a moment and reflected on all the things you are good at, things you are passionate about, and talents you were blessed with to help, bless, or inspire others. Do you think it was by your own merit these things were given to you to use for your own benefit? Or do you believe it was because God was behind it and blessed you with what he imparted inside you before you were even thought of or born to serve others? Thank you and you’re welcome to leave your answers in the comments.

Yes, your gift will make room for you but you have to exercise your gift. Don’t do what people tell you to do or do what they do because you think it will bring you lots of money. Do what you were born to do that you may be edified, God will be glorified, and the devil will be petrified! Use your gifts to build God’s kingdom.

Repeat after me, “God, whatever it is I am believing you for if it doesn’t come from above, I don’t want it! Return it back to the sender, unsigned, sealed, and undelivered. I want whatever you send God because you sent it!”

God you are good and your mercies endure forever. Your greatness is unsearchable. When I can’t trace you God, I trust you.

Be blessed! –JD

Ephesians 2:10 “For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.” (NIV)

Hey Part-time Servant of God, Listen Up! I Need Your Full, Undivided Attention!

Leaders JoaynnSorry for the long post…My heart is grieved. Not because I’m sad but because it saddens me when we profess to be Christians and do the opposite of what God desires from us, especially when we place conditions on him when making excuses to justify who we are not in him because we think we are entitled.

If you are in a REAL relationship with God, you will serve him. No ifs, ands, or buts. There is no gray area or middle ground with God. Either you will wholeheartedly serve him or you won’t. When you make the decision to give your life to him, you’re offering your life as a living sacrifice. You will desire to grow, mature, submit, giving your heart to God, be an example of Christ, and love as God does.

There are different ways we serve God but what we are not here for, TO BE SERVED BUT TO SERVE. Our service MUST be rooted in love. And should be a love-filled response and not an apathy-filled one. Too many times I witness people who profess to love the Lord but are not in the right relationship with him or are living examples of Christ in their actions, words, deeds, service, and obedience to him.

We put God in a box with only enough room to move in our lives as we see fit, when it’s convenient. Yes, we fail God every day and fall short of his glory on the regular but we must be careful when we offend him.

My observation: WHAT SERVING GOD IS NOT,

1) Judgmental, envious, jealous, hateful, spiteful, gossipers, doubters, and lack of compassion for others.

2) Serving ourselves instead of others.

3) Coming to church on Sundays, praise and worshipping but in a split second the moment someone strikes a “my nerves bad nerve”, you telling them what you ain’t gone do if it doesn’t benefit you.

4) USURPING God’s authority. Making deals with God like he’s beneath you because somewhere you were given authority and think your position supersedes his authority.

5) Wanting things to go your way because you think your position entitles you to it but fuss and complain when it doesn’t go as you insist and then tell God, “Okay…I’ll do it even though I don’t want to but…I’m serving you.” Like you’re doing him a favor!

6) Being ugly towards others, not humbling yourself before him when you’re wrong but expecting the highest level of respect because you think you deserve it.

7) Having a title, a fancy car, degrees, big houses, money, want people to look up to you, follow your own instructions but are not willing to take direction or instructions from others.

8) Looking down on others because they are not in your class, or hold the same status, or they merely don’t fit in your “circle.”

9) Not loving the unlovely or serving ALL mankind.

10) Looking for something in return just because you have “selfishly” or “unapologetically” given of your time to God…..and that’s just the beginning of the list of what not serving God looks like.

You may have missed the memo but last I checked, God doesn’t need anything from us. And he certainly does not need our help. If you’re serving God out of obligation and not out of obedience, it’s meaningless and not what God desires. Think twice before you commit to it and check yourself, your attitude, and your ways before you do it. Whomever thinks it’s okay to NEGOTIATE with God is playing a dangerous game with their soul.

As for me, I hold the highest reverence for God and out of my respect for who he is and what he means to me, I work daily to glorify him in all my doings even though I too fail him. If you profess to be a Christian, please stop playing with God and act like one. If you profess to be a Christian and serve God, please stop taking your servant role for granted and act like a servant.

Be careful how you treat God. He will humble you. He can take you from where you are and bring you to the lowest valley in 0 to 60 seconds, taking that which he has given you away until you can be humble.

If you want to be a leader, you MUST be willing to be a servant (Matthew 18:3-4). Anyone who is great or a leader is a servant. In order to be great, you MUST be humble with a lowly mentality, and not one full of pride. If you want to be a servant of God and lead others to Christ, act like one. Thanks for listening.

Be blessed! – JD

Matthew 18:3-4 “and said, “Truly, I say to you, unless you turn and become like children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven. 4Whoever humbles himself like this child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven.” (ESV)

Can’t See Your Way? Have Doubts? Hopeless? In Despair? What If…Why Not…Will You…Do This?? Trust God When You Can’t Trace Him!

Every Plan Joaynn.pngGod is…..faithful, sovereign, trustworthy, awesome, amazing, good, loving, marvelous, never failing, and more. So if we know all these things which clearly does not cover all who he is, then why do we worry?

When your situation seems hopeless, the least unpleasant thing happens, and you don’t know which way to turn that may cause you to doubt God, what if you were to stop right in your moment of desperation or frustration and ask yourself, “Wait a minute, time and time again when I couldn’t see no way out didn’t God work it out for the greater good?” What if….why not….will you….do this???

The moment you find yourself weary, discouraged, worrying or concerned about something you have no control over is the moment you need to give it to God, speak out loud or whisper “I trust you Lord,” and leave it there. The God I serve knows all about our troubles. And will answer in his timing. Fear is not option. Faith is. When we put our total trust in him he will work it out in our favor. What I know about God, He can do anything but fail.

Every plan has a purpose. Every promise is yes and amen. Every season has a lesson. Every trial or test is for a greater purpose. So, the next time you are fearful, start having doubts, and can’t trace God, trust Him!

Be blessed! – JD

Stop Believing the Lies of the Enemy. Tell the Devil, Get out of here with that mess! I’m too blessed to be stressed!

Too Blessed JoaynnHave you ever noticed when you take your eyes off your situation and look to God, how things begin to work out in your favor unexpectedly, and you are at peace?

There will be times when nothing is working as you expect. You change your mind in an instant. You become discouraged, frustrated to the point of desperation. You want to quit and give up, forgetting God is faithful and will do just as he promised.

You find yourself trying to work things out on your own, instead of trusting God’s Word, in his timing it will work for the greater good.

You start having doubts. You don’t feel like doing a thing, let alone put any effort into what you know God has already prepared you to do. You start looking to the right and to the left, focused on what is in front of you and not what’s above. God says it’s not over until he says it’s over.

See, the enemy plays tricks on your mind and wants you to change what you know about God and make you believe nothing He says is ever true or will work out as his Word promise. Don’t believe that mess. The devil is the father of lies! He a liar and the truth ain’t in him!

Be encouraged today. God will make a way out of no way. Your gift will make room for you. Don’t concern yourself with matters that do not concern you. If you are passionate about something, no matter how many obstacles you face or opposition that gets in your way, as long as you still have a passion for what you are passionate about, keep doing what you love to do. Persevere. Don’t give up. Whatever you are believing God for will manifest in the supernatural. Keep your eyes on God. Let him do his job!

When the devil starts talking trash in your ear tell him, “Get outta here with that mess. I ain’t hearing it. I’m too blessed to be stressed!”

Be Blessed! –JD

So You Say You Know About God, but Do You Really Know Him?

Especially For You JoaynnTo say you know God, know his Word, know what he desires from you to please him, and not do what he desires is to not know him but only know about him when you choose not to walk in obedience and enter into a relationship with him.

It’s easy to profess “I know God” “I love God”, “I know the Word of God” “God is good” when things go the way YOU expect. But do you really know him or only know about him because of what you profess? Genuine love reflects God’s love. Your life will reflect the love of God in your heart when you choose to keep his commandments and live by His Word.

For every occasion in life, many of us have an agenda we wish to accomplish. There’s something we want to do and we will make plans to do it. But we must always be reminded God’s agenda is not our agenda. Yes, sometimes things will work out as we plan and some things will not. In reality, it’s not supposed to. If it did when would we need God? I’m inclined to think never.

When faced with situations that are beyond our control yet are resolved because of decisions we made without God, don’t think it was because of you it worked out. It was all God. His grace was sufficient, in spite of. Don’t let your circumstances call for desperate measures in desperate times, or cloud your judgment and cause you to make decisions outside of God’s will, without God. Let him do what he knows best.

If you were to sit down and think about why that thing didn’t work out as you hoped, do you suppose it was because God allowed it to show you who is in control? Do you ever think maybe it was to get your attention to something he needs you to know about him to show his power?

Remember this, God is in control; not us. It is grace that works in and through us, not in spite of our weaknesses, but in and through it. God is working things out in our favor. It is a testament of our faith. Wait on God and let him do his work.

Wake every day with great expectancy from God. Allow His will, and not your will, be done. Get out of your own way and make room for God to do what he knows best. Don’t get it twisted. When things go right and you say, “That was God.” Yes it was but it was not by your agenda. It was his!

Be blessed! – JD

Don’t Rush God. Be Patient. Wait on Him. He Knows Exactly What He’s Doing!

Promise With Provision JoaynnThe vision is yet for the appointed time. Don’t rush God. Be patient. Though it may tarry, it will surely come. Everything you’re believing God for will happen in his timing. Be careful what you ask God for. Because you just might get what you are not ready for.

When you ask God to stretch you beyond what you can imagine that you may grow in him, He will pull some things out of you that you didn’t know you had in you to fulfill his purpose. He will stretch you beyond the unthinkable. To do what he put inside you and knows you are capable of. And not what you think you know you are not made of. When he stretches you, it ain’t gone be pretty. Be ready.

Sometimes God has to set us up to bring out some things in us before he elevates us. It may seem like it’s taking too long but don’t get discouraged. Believe it or not, negativity can be a blessing in disguise. It’s calling your attention to something. Transform your mind. Pay attention.

Trials tests our character. Circumstances tempt us. We believe the opposite of what God promises us. We struggle with our identity and are tempted to find our purpose. When in fact, oftentimes it will expose flaws in our character and reveal our true identity.

Struggles do not define us. It’s all in our perception. We’re victors and not victims. God builds character through our trials to mold and mature us. He has to break us before he make us while we are in transition. Some things will need to change in your life for the better that you may grow, become more like Christ, and become a better person.

When our identity is tested we find out what we’re made of and who we truly are when faced with obstacles and situations that make us uncomfortable. Especially when we reach a point in life where we are uncertain what we should be doing to reach our destiny or fulfill our purpose.

We arrive at a place where our job no longer fulfill us, but we know deep inside there’s something greater inside us. With determination, we keep pressing on to do what we are created to do and change the world.

Remember, it takes time to build character. It doesn’t happen overnight. The wait is for a greater purpose. To ensure you are not only prepared when God elevates you but ready to do the work you are called to do. Don’t regret change. It’s required.

What seems difficult will not defeat you. It will make you stronger. Don’t regret the process. When the storm is over you’ll be wiser, better. You will come out stronger. Thank God for every trial, every setback, and every difficulty. He was preparing you for your destiny. Be encouraged. Don’t give up. You made it. Look at God. He did that!

Be Blessed! – JD

Habukkak 2:2-3 Then the LORD answered me and said, “Record the vision And inscribe it on tablets, That the one who reads it may run. 3″For the vision is yet for the appointed time; It hastens toward the goal and it will not fail. Though it tarries, wait for it; For it will certainly come, it will not delay. (NASB)

Don’t Let Fear Stagnate and Stunt Your Growth. Stay Connected To God. Grow Spiritually!

destiny-comaSpiritual growth is a life-long process. But oftentimes life situations will cause us to become disconnected. We lose sight of God, even though he’s always with us. Our prayer life, meditation, and reading of the Word are affected. We don’t mediate or pray as much. We become distracted.

Stagnated in our walk with God because we are so comfortable where we are. We are satisfied with our life, fear change, and believe the life we live is the best it can get for us. When in fact, God has a greater plan in place for us. God’s Word teaches, rebukes, corrects, and trains us that we may be equipped for every good work. This essentially is spiritual growth.

To grow is to increase in knowledge and understanding of God’s Word. Spend time with God. Pray. Say a simple prayer, even when it seems difficult. Stay connected. No matter where you find yourself in life, it is where you are supposed to be even if you caused some delays out of decisions you made on your own. You are still growing. It may not be as fast as others or as you would like it to be. But it is steady.

When you find yourself in a place where you are confused and feel like nothing is working in your favor, look to God. Persevere. Be confident of this, He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus (Philippines 1:6).

Don’t let the shock of knowing you need to grow put you in a destiny coma because you’re stuck in the past and your present, hindering your future. Grow. Move forward.

Be blessed!– JD

2 Peter 1:5-8 “For this very reason, make every effort to add to your faith goodness; and to goodness, knowledge; 6and to knowledge, self-control; and to self-control, perseverance; and to perseverance, godliness; 7and to godliness, brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness, love. 8For if you possess these qualities in increasing measure, they will keep you from being ineffective and unproductive in your knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.”(NIV)

Don’t Regret When You Are Going Through The Storm. Be Thankful for Your Struggle. It Is Your Testimony

discover-your-purpose-joaynnWhen God starts a thing, he finishes it. Whatever He has worked on, it is finished. It’s done. He said it. That settles it. Believe Him! Even when you don’t know what it looks like, have faith it will work out just as God promise it would. Have faith God will work all things together for good!

When the attack is so deep and you find yourself going through the storm, sometimes God will take you through a season where it’s just you and him alone. He will strip you of everything in and of yourself and will use you for his glory during the process.

Even though you may feel he’s not there, you are in a season that is not without purpose. There’s a purpose for the separation. God has to break you before he makes you great. Don’t regret the process. Trust it.

When God isolates you from others, it allows you to draw closer to him. You will grow spiritually. God wants to mold and shape you. He will get the glory, and not you.

Being alone can be very frustrating and sometimes will cause you to become distraught, depressed, or distracted. God is with you and have you by yourself for a great reason. Jesus cuts off every branch that doesn’t bear fruit. You can’t be pruned if you are standing by yourself. You can’t be refined if you are conforming like everyone else.

Pruning is a process that requires removal of dead things. It is the cutting off of life’s distractions. God prunes us that we may bear more fruit. And for every branch that bears fruit, God prunes that it may be more fruitful (John 15:1-4). When you find yourself in a season where you feel alone, know that it is the right time you are available to God to be used to fulfill His purpose. #BeBlessed!

Be blessed! -JD

John 15:1-5 “I am the true vine, and my Father is the gardener. He cuts off every branch in me that bears no fruit, while every branch that does bear fruit, he prunes so that it will be even more fruitful. You are already clean because of the word I have spoken to you. Remain in me, as I also remain in you. No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain in the vine. Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in me. I am the vine, you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing.” (NIV)

What If I Told You God Says You Are Called To Be a Peculiar People Made To Stand Out, Not Fit In. Would You Believe Me?

Your Fullest Potential JoaynnWhat do you do when you find yourself believing in a dream and you’re convinced you are made to stand out, not fit in? Nor are you designed to be like everybody else?

But you’re constantly reminded you should fit in and adapt to the world’s methods or standards and do what they’re doing in order to find the same success.

Well….do you believe it and try to find your own success because you chose to be like everyone else? Or do you wait on God? Well….here’s what I believe.

To meet with obstacles at every attempt to make your plan work is God saying “not yet.” Be patient. My plan will come to pass. Have faith. Trust my timing. The more you tell God “I’m not ready” and stay in your comfort zone, the more He will move you into your destiny and show himself strong. Oftentimes in your most difficult struggle you will find your greatest strength. Your struggle becomes your passion.

When you’re given an opportunity to do something out of your comfort zone you know is orchestrated by God, do it. Walk by faith, not by sight. God is leading you in the right direction. Press on. He promises all things work together for the greater good. And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose. (Romans 8:28). Believe!

What if I told you God says you are fearfully and wonderfully made? Aren’t you called to be a peculiar people for God? Didn’t God give you a vision? YOU were called by God.

Don’t choose to listen to the opinions of others only to stagnate your growth. Do not conform. Be transformed by the renewing of your mind. The vision is yet for the appointed time. God promise it will surely come. Keep the faith. It will surely come.

Food For Thought: Jesus Is Coming Back. Are You Ready?

Jesus Will Return JoaynnOftentimes I hear people as well as myself say how we are living in the last days and seeing signs of the times. And make no mistake about it, we are. If you don’t have a relationship with God or you are not in the right relationship with Him, now is the time to seek him, repent, and get right with him.

We are living on borrowed time. This is just a temporary dwelling place. Jesus is coming back. Be ready. Don’t miss it.

Being a Christian doesn’t mean we’re perfect. We’re flawed. Don’t conform to the ways of this world because someone thinks you should. We are sinners. We all are in need of a Savior. Be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Go to the throne of grace. Boldly ask for forgiveness.

When we make decisions on our own and we believe it was a blessing when things turn out for the good, in spite of our flaws, know it was by God’s grace it turned out for the greater good and not because of what we did.

It is not by our own merit or our works God saves us but it is Christ work on the cross what saves us. God grants us grace even when we don’t deserve it.

Be careful with the decisions you make. Do what pleases God. Count your blessings. Jesus is coming back soon. Be ready.

Ephesians 1:17, 18 “I keep asking that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, may give the Spirit of wisdom and revelation that you may know him better. 18 I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in his holy people.” (ESV)

Preparation Comes Before Elevation. Hold On. Your Breakthrough is Coming!

Stand JoaynnWhat If I told you God is a restorer, would you believe me? What If I told you He is a deliverer, would you doubt his ability? His promise is his Word. Believe him. Won’t he do it!

A strong indication of spiritual growth is when you lean totally on God for strength, no matter the circumstance. You choose to respond to situations according to God’s Word and not react based on your emotions. God is doing something through you in the trial. He is trying to teach you something. Take note, learn the lesson. Apply the Word of God to your life, no matter the storm. Find your purpose.

Each and every one of us will go through or have gone through trials that left us wondering why, never understanding God’s plan. Yet in the trial, we discover the kind of faith we truly have. Tests, trials, tribulations, and troubles are not meant to break us but are designed to help us grow. It is where we find our purpose. No matter the circumstance, know that God is there in the midst of your trouble. Humble yourself before the Lord. Have faith. God will take care of it. Trust him.

Be encouraged today. God made a way out of no way. Praise God! You’re still standing. The glory of the Lord is our strength. We can do all things through Christ Jesus. Have faith. He who began a good work in you will complete it. We will never understand when God does what he does. Stop trying to make sense of what he does. Trust Him even when it doesn’t make sense. God got this!

If you’re believing God for something and it seems like it’s taking too long, don’t give up. Hold on. Preparation comes before elevation. God wants what’s best for you. He has to prepare you before he promotes you. Keep doing the right thing. Trust God. His grace is sufficient.

Repeat after me, I’m not defined by my past. I’m a child of God. Fearfully and wonderfully made. I know who I am. I’m more than a conqueror!

Be blessed! – JD

Philippians 4:12-13 “I know how to be brought low, and I know how to abound. In any and every circumstance, I have learned the secret of facing plenty and hunger, abundance and need. I can do all things through him who strengthens me.” (ESV)

Serving God is An Honor. It’s A Privilege. Be Thankful To God For the Privilege of Being In A Ministry

Blessed By GodForgive me for the long post but the other day in my time of reflection, I woke with some things that were unsettling in my spirit and thought I’d share.

I believe that God works through his people to accomplish impossible tasks that may seem impossible to us. God knows what it takes to do what he’s prepared for us. He often shapes us with experiences and training that prepares us for his purpose.

All Christians are called to ministry. However, being in a ministry doesn’t mean we are entitled to serve ourselves and in the process, claim a title. It means we serve God by serving others. We are speaking and serving directly on His behalf to others. We trade selfishness for selflessness. We bring glory to God. We bring honor to Him and not ourselves.

We have no idea what God has in store for us. In our service, we must be obedient. We must be careful not to become complacent or comfortable in our daily routine when placing priorities on things we did before we made the decision to serve God. We must put into action what we learn from his Word. Faith without works is dead. God wants our obedience. We remove “self” out of the equation. We change our mindset. We change the way we used to do things in order that we may bring glory to him.

Too many times we make it a point to get to work on time, never miss a day, and push ourselves beyond limits to get the job done. But choose not to be as dedicated and obedient to God as we are to our friends, family, employers, or loved ones. Failing to realize had it not been for God, we wouldn’t have a job. Or anything else for that matter.

If what we know about God to be true, there are no excuses why we choose to do what we do because we have been conditioned to do it. Yes, we learn. But we must also grow. We change our priorities to accomplish tasks He has prepared for us and positioned us to do. And if in the beginning, we know what God’s Word tells us is true, we will begin the process by doing, not what we want, but what he desires we do. Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. (2 Cor 5:17)

When we learn and are assured of what God desires from us, in our service, we must walk the walk and talk the talk the right way to do that which pleases him. Walk with, and not away from God. When you talk with God and walk with God, you can become useful to Him. Welcome him into your thoughts and share your feelings, your concerns, and your dreams. Walk with him and put what you learn from his Word into action.

Blessed by God is not by your works, not an entitlement, nor can it be earned. It is a gift from God. You’re blessed to be a blessing to others. When God blesses you, don’t curse your blessings because you did not honor him when you chose to complain. Be a blessing to others. Glorify Him.

We cannot serve two masters. Make a choice. Either you will serve God or serve yourself.

Be blessed! – JD

Colossians 3:23,24 “Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men, 24 knowing that from the Lord you will receive the inheritance as your reward. You are serving the Lord Christ.”(ESV)
