The Battle is not Yours, It’s the Lord’s. Do Your Part. Let God Do What He Do. He Got It Handled!

Pick your battles today. You have a choice, to give in to the enemy or let God have His way. God has the final say.

If you were never in distress, you wouldn’t know God is willing and able. He’s Jehovah Nissi. God has all power. He is our strong tower.

If you were never sick, you wouldn’t know God could heal. He’s Jehovah Rapha. God is a healer. By his stripes you are healed. If you were never broke, you wouldn’t know God could provide. God is Almighty. He’s El Shaddai. He’s Jehovah Jireh. The Lord will provide.

Listen, the moment the devil gets a glimpse of what God is about to do in your life, he gone try and block it. Rebuke that spirit. He’s a thief! He comes to steal, kill, and destroy. He doesn’t want you to discover what God has stored up for you.

If you didn’t have no reason to please God, Satan wouldn’t give you the time of day. He won’t be bothered by anyone that doesn’t have anything he wants. Let him you know, you got time TU-DAY. Whatever he does to bring harm, send it back undelivered.

Let him know you serve a mighty God. No weapon formed against you shall prosper. You’re just that close. God got you covered! If you find yourself in a season that doesn’t make sense, trust God. He is preparing you for something greater. Your breakthrough is on the way. It’s coming.

Whatever your hands touch will be blessed. Believe. God said it. That settles it!

Be blessed! – JD

You Got To Believe the Word of the Lord. God Said What He Said. Now Go and Be Great!

The enemy does not take delight in anything that delights you. Nor does he favor anything that favors you. Think about this. God favors you. He set you apart for his purpose. The devil may not like it but he can’t do a thing about it. You may go through the fire and stumble in the rain but God is with you, always. He will turn it around in your favor.

The enemy won’t come after anything that doesn’t disturb him. You’re blessed and highly favored. That disturbs him. When you are closest to your destination and all you’ve been through, he will come in like a flood to destroy you. And keep you from reaching your destiny. Rebuke that spirit!

Sometimes you have to encourage yourself, no matter how insurmountable the situation seems. Keep your eyes on the prize. Delight yourself in the Lord and he will give you the desires of your heart. The peace of God is your weapon. Take delight in what Jesus said. Believe what he told you. Trusting he said what he said so you will have peace in him (John 16:33). He said what he said. He didn’t stutter. Believe Him.

You’re so close. Don’t give up. Find your peace. Don’t miss your blessing. #NowGoBeGreat

Be blessed! – JD

Job 33:14-18 “God always answers, one way or another, even when people don’t recognize his presence.  15-18 “‘In a dream, for instance, a vision at night, when men and women are deep in sleep, fast asleep in their beds –  God opens their ears and impresses them with warnings  To turn them back from something bad they’re planning, from some reckless choice,  And keep them from an early grave, from the river of no return. It’s Okay to Be Honest with God. He Knows What You’re Going Through Before You Tell Him. Trust Him. He Got This!

How many of us can be brutally honest with God? And tell him exactly how we are feeling when we are going through what seems impossible and can’t see him in anything? We are overwhelmed with life and what comes with it. We can’t seem to get it together. Everywhere we turn trials and tribulations running over. Trouble feels like it’s going to last always. We cry out to God, when will this all end? But it feels like he’s not listening.

We do our best to stand even when it’s difficult and want so badly to give up. We keep speaking things that are not as though they were but nothing and I mean nothing changes. We see no results. Bills piling up with more days in a month than zeros in our bank accounts. But we press towards the mark. Believing God will not leave us nor forsake us although it feels like he’s not with us.

But then suddenly, something amazing happens. God shows up and shows out. That thing you were worried about He worked it out. Here comes the devil again with his evil works petitioning your thoughts. Your mind begins playing tricks on you convincing you of his lies. You start doubting God. You feel everyone is prospering but you. You start looking heavily at your circumstances. You try to shake it off. You tell God, “I’m sorry. Please forgive me for feeling this way but I’m being honest.”

Listen…the devil ain’t gone be bothered with nobody who doesn’t have anything he wants. You think when going through a Category 9 hurricane, God must have a major divine blessing coming. Because this devil will wear himself out trying to wear you out. He will try to kill you. You feel defeated. You’re exhausted. But you don’t give up hope. You say, “Whew. I’m tired. I’m trying Lord. Come through God!”

While we know our good days are supposed to outweigh our bad days, sometimes it can be hard. It’s not easy to trust God when all hell is breaking loose. The devil doesn’t want you to win. God does. Count it all joy. You already got the victory, even when it doesn’t feel like it. Here’s some good news. God is a good God. He is faithful. He will do just as he promised.

God is not man, that he should lie, or the son of man, that he should change his mind. … (Numbers 23:19). He gave us another chance today. We’re alive. We’re here. We made it by His grace. Tell God, Thank you. The Lord will fight all your battles. Hold on. Have a little talk with Jesus. Tell him all about your troubles. Don’t be ashamed to be brutally honest about your feelings. Tell God everything. He is always listening.

God wants the best for you. Don’t let the enemy trick you into giving up. Don’t you dare do it. Be like a tree planted by the rivers of water. Immovable, unshakable, and always abounding in the work of the Lord. You can do this!

Be blessed! – JD

My Prayer for Today. God, We Thank You Today is What We Have. We Believe!

Dear God, first and foremost, we simply want to say, “Thank you.” Regardless of what happens today, you will get the glory.

There is so much going on in the lives of your people. It grieves my heart. Everywhere I look, I see and hear there are many whose faith is being tested in ways they have never experienced. Finances, health, marriages, and families are being attacked in ways they have never seen before. Lord, we need you.

I’m interceding in prayer, on behalf of each and every one. Cover every family from the top of their heads to the soles of their feet. Send FRESH anointing. Meet every need. Let there be no lack. Break every chain. Reverse the curse of poverty, sickness, disease, or struggle. Jesus be a fence all around us. Lord God, you already know our situation. It’s already taken care of. You are our rock. Our redeemer. You can do the impossible.

Mend hearts, heal bodies, comfort those who have lost loved ones, and deliver those going through what seems impossible to overcome. You say in your word, “Come to me, all you who are weary and I will give you rest” (Matt 11:28). We cast our cares upon you, O God. Send rest for the weary and heavy burdened. I come against every demonic plot, plan, trick, and scheme of the enemy to kill, steal and destroy. Return it back to the sender undelivered.

Devil, you are a liar and the truth ain’t in you! Go seek dry bones. The Lord will fight our battles. Let not our hearts be troubled. For you are sovereign, O God. You are our refuge in times of trouble. For your burden is light and your yoke is easy. When we can’t trace you we trust you. And let us be confident of this, that he who began a good work in us will complete it until the day of Christ Jesus (Phil 1:6). There’s nothing too hard for you God. We give you honor, glory, and praise. This is my prayer in Jesus’ name. Amen and amen!

Be blessed! – JD

Romans 8:26-27 “Likewise the Spirit helps us in our weakness. For we do not know what to pray for as we ought, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words. 27And he who searches hearts knows what is the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for the saints according to the will of God.

A Made Up Mind is a Mind Made Up. Trust God. He Got This!

What I’ve learned. Sometimes you got to make up in your mind it’s either me and I or me and God against the world when the spirit of discontentment creeps in your mind convincing you you are not usable to God. I say, “Rebuke that spirit!”

Greater is he that is in you than he that is in the world. You are more than a conqueror. The joy you have the world did not give it to you, and the world cannot take it away from you.

One day I woke one morning after a long week of discouragement, anguish, and doubt with the way my life was going. I was uncertain of the direction I was headed because nothing seemed to be going right. But let me tell you about the God we serve. He put a stop to that mess! He renewed my mind, he restored my heart. And every day I wake with renewed strength to carry out the assignment God ordained.

Then I heard him say to me and this is for somebody too. He said, “I have something for you. Be encouraged. I’m going to push you out the box into the marvelous. I’m developing you for a greater purpose.” And that’s not all. “What I start I finish. You are victorious. I will do it. I promise.”

When you find yourself faced with a situation or circumstance beyond your control or a life change you are uncertain of, remind yourself of the mighty God we serve. He is able to do the impossible. He is in control. He will do exceeding abundantly above all that you ask or think (Ephesians 3:20). He got this! It is better to use obstacles as opportunities to serve God and help others than to do the opposite of what God’s Word says.

Times of trials can mean many things. But I implore you when facing trials, “recognize them as opportunities to strengthen your faith.” Because it is in this time of testing you will witness the power of God. That trial you’re going through, it’s part of God’s bigger plan for your life. Stay ready, willing, and able.

Let me encourage you. Take a leap of faith and run with it. Be immovable, unstoppable, steadfast no matter what it looks like today. You are an overcomer. Persevere in your faith. Use the gifts God has given you graciously for free. Someone somewhere needs what you’re carrying. Whether you preach or teach the Word of God, know this, we all have a ministry and can be used by God. Don’t ever stop sharing the gospel.

I’m going to leave you with this. Be not dismayed. Stand firm. Believe. God will reward your obedience. Remain steadfast in your experiences, no matter what. Don’t let nothing and I mean nothing stop you from reaching your next level of destiny. God has great things stored up. He’s waiting on you. He counted you worthy. Now go get your blessing. Don’t miss it!

Be blessed! -JD

Psalm 34:4–5, 8 “I sought the LORD, and He answered me and delivered me from all my fears. Those who look to him are radiant, and their faces shall never be ashamed. Oh, taste and see that the LORD is good! Blessed is the man who takes refuge in him!” (ESV)

God Gave You a Vision of Promise. Never Give Up On Your Dreams. What God Has Planned, It Will Succeed

God Determines Your Destiny JoaynnNo matter what your circumstances are or what happens today, be content in all things. God will supply all your needs. Don’t be discouraged.

God gave you a vision of promise. Don’t ever give up on your dreams. One phone call, one idea, one divine connection can be life changing. The vision is yet for an appointed time. Wait on God. God always keeps his promises. It will surely come.  Believe! It will be fulfilled.

Whatever God starts, he finishes. It’s done. Your situation may seem hopeless. It ain’t over until God says it over. God says it is finished.

Stop giving people permission to control your destiny. Only God determines your destiny. They didn’t call or appoint you. God did. Seek Him.

Say this to yourself and declare every day with me, God will perfect that which concerns me. It won’t always be like this. One day the tides will turn in my favor. God will see me through this.

Be blessed! –JD

Habakkuk 2:3 “For the vision is yet for an appointed time, but at the end it shall speak, and not lie: though it tarry, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry. (KJV)

The Minute You Become a Christian, Act Like One. Don’t Be So Religious Only to Fail at Being Religious Because You Lack Being Spiritual

wpid-img_20150311_085818.jpgI’m just a messenger. When God speaks, I listen. I would rather do what God says and have him be pleased at me than to do what others say and have them be mad at me.

God does not decide on or pick a particular person to hear a word from him. His word is for anybody who will listen. God has a strange way of revealing something he needs you to know. Because after all, we can never understand why God does what he do or how he does it. His word shall go forth.

God uses unsuspecting vessels to send a message. Listen for that small voice when He says something. When we have to think or ask, “Was that about me?” The answer should be “No. But if it touched you in any way maybe it was for you.”

Every day we can expect a visitation from God. When he comes we have to have our house in order. When your house is not in order with God, neither are you. No matter how right you are in all that you do, your wrong becomes your right because you are choosing to just be you. Just because you may have weathered the storm doesn’t mean you did based on your own merit. But God may have sent the storm to bring something to your attention that he may get the glory out of it.

Yes, God blesses us at all times. Yet when we choose to not grow when the storm is over, we miss the more that God has for us. His word says he wants to bless us and bless us more abundantly but he wants us to be obedient. It’s not that he can’t do it but it’s because we won’t let him. Don’t be so religious only to fail at being religious because you lack being spiritual. Change your mindset.

It’s one thing to say you’re a Christian and another when your heart is not right with God. God gave us breath. We can’t make ourselves breathe. Just because you are a religious person, being religious doesn’t make you a Christian. Being religious is when we choose to live a life that honors our relationship with God. We rely on His wisdom. We allow his will, and not ours, be done. We are intimately connected to God and our spirit longs for a deeper relationship with Him. We choose to live to please God and not ourselves.

No matter how well we look on the outside, we have many reasons to deny what’s on the inside of our hearts. Actions speak louder than words. Be careful not to let your actions become idols as a result of your rituals. When you say “I’m a Christian” but don’t act like one, you are merely saying to God, I will act like a Christian sometimes but I won’t be a Christian all the time. I will choose when to act like one.”

Yes we can go to church regularly, we can say our prayers night, day, and all through the day, and we can even worship and praise God with our mouths thanking him for everything. All that is good but…when you choose not to commit to an intimate relationship with God and devote your life to his way of life, you make the mistake of living in vain because you are slowing dying a spiritual death when you choose to live without his intervention.

You are a sinner. You are dead to sin. Through faith in Christ, you can be saved and made whole again. “For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith–and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God–not by works, so that no can boast” (Ephesians 2:8-9). You are spiritually renewed. Admit you need God’s intervention. When you are saved you are born again. The minute you become a Christian, act like one.

Isaiah 29:13 tells us, The Lord says: “These people come near to me with their mouth and honor me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me. Their worship of me is made up only of rules taught by men.” We can know a lot about God but not know God personally. “When we claim to honor God while our hearts are far from him, our worship means nothing. It is not enough to study about religion or even to study the Bible. It is not enough to act religious. Our actions and our attitudes must be sincere. If they are not, Isaiah’s words also describe us (Matthew 15:8, 9).

There’s a saying “Sticks and stones may break my bones but words will never hurt me.” When I was a kid I used to believe this when people and even those I considered family would pick on me or call me names that would hurt my feelings. As I grew older I found some truth in this but believed in my heart that words can hurt more than sticks and stones and should never be the reason why we consciously inflict pain onto others by saying things that are mean, hurtful or not true.

Our decisions, actions, and way of thinking should reflect God’s character so that when people see us they may see Christ in us. And not see in us who we choose to be when people see us. Refusal to see the error in your ways does not excuse the behavior. In fact it only exacerbates it. How many times do you need to know that God is the great I AM THAT I AM? He, not you, will get the glory out of it.

Take a personal inventory of your life and check to see if something is missing on the inside. Is there a void? Is there a hole in your heart that you cannot fill? Do you believe something inside your heart is missing? As sincere as your religion may be, it is not enough to meet the needs of your heart or fill what is missing. Admit to yourself, I need God’s intervention. Go to God. Seek him. Say to him, I cannot do this thing called life by myself. Lord I need your help. God can fill the void. Change the error of your ways. Live a life pleasing to God. Live out the Fruit of the Spirit. God will be pleased.

When you feel the need for God’s intervention in your life, it is then and only then you come to understand your need of God. The moment you are born again, your sins are forgiven and you have a relationship with God. You are spiritually renewed. Old things pass away. A spiritual transformation takes place. You are a new creature in Christ. You are no longer who you used to be. Be the person God created you to be. I pray this blesses someone.

Be blessed! –JD

Matthew 15:8, 9, 11 “These people honor me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me. 9 They worship me in vain; their teachings are but rules taught by men.” 11 “What goes into a man’s mouth does not make him ‘unclean’, but what comes out of his mouth, that is what makes him ‘unclean’ ”.

Healing Takes Time. Humility Takes Courage. Forgiveness is a Process. Don’t Rush It

wpid-img_20150324_203439.jpgOne of the most important things we must acknowledge about forgiveness is that it is a process that occurs over time. It doesn’t happen overnight. To mend something that is broken can take a lifetime to fix. Humility takes courage. Healing is part of that process and we cannot rush it.

And while it may not occur like we think it should, no matter how small the humble beginning, thank God for it. A humble heart cannot be seen from the inside. What flows from it will manifest through our actions on the outside.

With anything that has a beginning, the end will come. We may not be able to see what’s in a person’s heart but God does. Don’t be quick to judge the efforts of others. God looks at our hearts; not what we do when others are looking. It’s not what we do but the manner in which we choose to do it.

Pain is not something we can cure overnight. The healing process must occur in steps. We cannot rush it. Love covers a multitude of sins. Be slow to convict. Support one another through the journey. Be a blessing. No matter how big or small, count it all joy. Thank God for humble beginnings! ‪#‎ItBeginsWithYou‬

Be Blessed! – JD

Devil, Check Yourself Before You Wreck Yourself. You Have Been Warned. No Weapon Shall Prosper. I’m Covered By the Blood!

wpid-img_20150311_091226.jpgGod is leaning in my direction. Favor is all around me. I won’t let nothing stand in the way of making me miss my blessing.

The other day was a day of pure havoc. It started off worse than I expected. Everything I thought could go wrong did, without my expecting it. The enemy came in like a raging storm. Testing my faith and trying my patience. I may have been frustrated, overwhelmed, even shed a few tears. It didn’t stop me. I persevered.

The devil came attacking me from the north, south, east and west. But I wasn’t having it! I refused to look to the north, south, east or west. I looked to the hills from whence cometh my help. I told him, devil, you better check yourself before you wreck yourself. I let him know who my driver was. You won’t wreck me! God is my pilot, not my co-pilot. I ain’t doing the driving.

I said, “Devil you will not steal my joy! I’m covered by the blood of Jesus. God told me to tell you, I can do all things through Christ Jesus who strengthens me. I said to him, “God got me!”

He even tried to make me cry but my tears would only well in my eyes. He didn’t have a clue. He still don’t understand. I made him look like a fool.  The devil couldn’t break me. I’m still standing. No matter what comes at me, I let God do the driving. So devil, you might want to think twice about coming at me tomorrow. No weapon formed against me shall prosper!

Thank you Lord, I made it through. It worked out for the greater good. There’s nobody greater than my God. I give all glory to God!

God you’re my portion and my strength. I will cast my cares upon you. God I love and adore you. No matter what happens today I will worship and praise you.

What can wash away my sin? Nothing but the blood of Jesus. What can make me whole again? Nothing but the blood of Jesus!!

Be blessed! –JD

Romans 3:23-26 “For everyone has sinned; we all fall short of God’s glorious standard. 24 Yet God freely and graciously declares that we are righteous. He did this through Christ Jesus when he freed us from the penalty for our sins. 25 For God presented Jesus as the sacrifice for sin. People are made right with God when they believe that Jesus sacrificed his life, shedding his blood. This sacrifice shows that God was being fair when he held back and did not punish those who sinned in times past, 26 for he was looking ahead and including them in what he would do in this present time. God did this to demonstrate his righteousness, for he himself is fair and just, and he declares sinners to be right in his sight when they believe in Jesus.” (NLT)

I’m in the Best Relationship Ever! I’m Never Getting a Divorce. I am in Love With Jesus!

wpid-img_20150212_151310.jpgI’m in an exclusive relationship with the Lord. It is the best relationship I’ve ever had. I am so in love with God. I wouldn’t change it for the world! I’m never getting a divorce. I am in it for eternity.

I get to talk to God every day. I can call him on the mainline at any time and his line is never busy. He’s always listening. He doesn’t send me to voicemail when I call or fail to return my calls. He answers my prayers each time I call.

I can tell him anything and don’t ever have to worry about him gossiping about, judging, or hating me. I’m his treasured possession (Dt 7:6). He cares for me. What a friend I have in Jesus. He’s my best friend. I am very privileged.

God never, ever breaks my heart. When I hurt, he heals my heart. He never makes me cry. When I cry, he wipes every tear away. He fills me with confidence and reassures me, I am worthy. He lets me know, “You are more than a conqueror through Christ Jesus” (Rom 8:37). Yes, Jesus loves me!

He knows I’m not perfect. I’m flawed. Yet he still loves me, flaws and all. He never talks bad to or criticizes me. He tells me I’m fearfully and wonderfully made (Ps 139:14). He loves me. I can fail God every day. In spite of me, he grants brand new mercies even when I don’t deserve it.

I am so in love with the Lord. This is the best relationship I’ve ever had. I won’t let go. I’m never getting a divorce. No matter what, I will remain loyal. I wouldn’t trade my relationship with God for the world. I am in it for life. I will say yes to him for the rest of my life.

Be blessed –JD

It’s Time to Get Your Praise On. Stop What You’re Doing Right Now and Give Thanks to Jesus!

wpid-img_20150116_071609.jpgGod is worthy and greatly to be praised. Don’t think about your situation. God granted brand new mercies. Thank God for a portion of your health and strength. Thank him for waking you up this morning.

When it seems difficult to find words to say when going through fiery trials, God will calm the raging storms. Call the name Jesus, Jesus. The doctor operates but God will heal. The lawyer represents your case but God will settle it. The enemy comes to kill, steal, and destroy. God will deliver. You are more than a conqueror.

Be grateful for what you have and don’t have. God is keeping you alive to fulfill a greater plan. Thank you Lord for saving grace. Thank you for all you’ve done. We won’t complain. You’re simply amazing. We love you Lord.

Father thank you for waking us to see another day. Your grace and mercy kept us. Bless your name. Thank you for keeping watch over us through the night. Thank you for another chance to get it right.

Jesus became poor for our sake that we may be rich. God is our Father. We’re unimaginably rich in Christ Jesus. “For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though he was rich, yet for your sake he became poor, so that you through his poverty might become rich” (2 Corinthians 8:9). God you’re so good to us. Get your praise on. Stop what you’re doing right now and give thanks to Jesus!

Thank you Lord for another day. Thank you God for making a way out of no way. You’re worthy and greatly to be praised. To God be the glory!

Be blessed! -JD

Thankful Thursday Thought – Are You Like the Tree Planted By the Waters?

20141210085924The Word of God in Psalm 1:3 tells us, “….Whatever he does prospers.” No matter the trials, with God on your side, in due season you will bear fruit. No weapon formed against you shall prosper.

You may have troubles or difficulties along the way. Trials are inevitable. Do not be dismayed. It doesn’t mean we are immune from failure or difficulties. Nor does it guarantee we will be happy.

What the Bible means by prosperity is “when we apply God’s wisdom, the fruit (results or by-products) we bear will be good and will receive God’s approval. We are to soak up God’s Word that it may produce attitudes and actions that will honor God” (1:3). Delight in his presence. Meditate on the Word of God.

God’s Word is our source of nourishment. It feeds the soul. The more you delight in his presence, the more fruitful you are. Spend time with God. Trust Him in every area of your life. Delight in the Lord.

God I thank you for the trees planted by the water. No weapon formed against us shall prosper. When troubled, you are a present help. God, I thank you for your faithfulness. Thank you Jesus!

Are you like the tree planted by the water? If not, get an understanding. Trust God in every encounter. Bear good fruit. Trees planted by the water never fail to bear fruit.

Be blessed! -JD

Psalm 1:3 “Blessed is the man who does not walk in counsel of the wicked or stand in the way of sinners or sit in the seat of mockers. 2 But his delight is in the law of the LORD, and on his law he meditates day and night. 3 He is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither. Whatever he does prospers.” (NIV)

Let Everything That Has Breath Praise the Lord!

wpid-img_20150103_075451.jpgIn times of trouble, when you feel you need God most, keep praying. Have a little talk with Jesus. Tell him about your troubles. He will hear you. He will answer.

At times, God may seem far away. Regardless what it looks like, know that he is right there with you. He’s just a prayer away.

Walk by faith and not by sight. Let your light shine. Be the light. Use your God given gifts well. Be the best YOU can be. Be a blessing!

I pray, as Paul prayed, that you know God better. Know Jesus Christ. Seek the Lord through prayer. Study His Word. Spend time with Him daily.

Let everything that has breath praise the Lord. We serve a might God. No matter how big your problems are, God is bigger. Glory Hallelujah!

Be blessed! -JD

I May Have Been Through The Storm, But I Made It. I Got A Feeling Next Year is Going To Be AMAZING!

wpid-img_20141229_085324.jpgThis year has been by far one of the most challenging, difficult, uncomfortable yet defining moments of my life that I’ve had in a long time. Nonetheless, I’m grateful.

So many things have happened that left me confused and conflicted. But something changed in the midst of going through it. My walk and my relationship with God deepened. I came to know him more intimately. My faith grew. I had a dream and vision. I stepped out on faith believing God for blessings and miracles! (BAM) I believe something amazing is about to happen.

When I kept going to God in prayer for answers, even though I didn’t understand any of it, he revealed to me his promises. He told me exactly what I needed to know to help me move forward. When he showed me his perspective, it propelled me that much more to walk in my purpose.

No matter how much I tried and wanted to stop doing what I know God called me to do, he refused to give up on me. At times when I wanted to turn back the hands of time to go back to what I thought was comfortable and easy, He wouldn’t let me. I may have gone through some things and many times wanted to give up. But every time I would go through something, I was reminded why I’m a Christian.

When I gave my life to God, in every circumstance I encountered in my life, I realized I couldn’t go back to who I once was. My heart just wouldn’t let me be who I once was. When faced with insurmountable obstacles, it didn’t matter how much I tried to dredge up the old me, I didn’t feel comfortable trying to be the old me. I guess that means I’m growing.

God is always working me. And will use me no matter where he sends me. Regardless of the circumstance, when I sit and take a moment to reflect not on my situation but on how good God has been to me, I begin to think about what I must do to bring him glory.

Know this, while situations may be heartbreaking, discouraging, and sometimes can bring you to the point of death, every day you rise and see the sun shine is God saying, “Don’t fret. I’m not through with you yet. You’ve been through worse. Have I ever failed you? This too shall pass. I’m always with you.”

For everything that has a beginning and an end, there is a purpose. We must be cognizant of God’s presence in any situation to understand, He will fulfill his purpose. When trials come, know that they are to be expected. God has a master plan. Be willing and able. Expect the unexpected.

In the most difficult situation, don’t look to the right or to the left. Look to God. He is a present help. Yes, it will take some time to heal when you suffer and go through, but don’t stay stuck in your misery only to keep suffering. Give everything to God. Let him handle it. Nothing’s too hard for God.

What doesn’t kill you will make you stronger, wiser, better. Don’t live with regrets only to miss your blessing. Yes, we’re human and sometimes the flesh will rise up causing us to feel defeated and lost. We can either learn from the experience or choose to stay stuck. Time heal all wounds. Take time to heal. But don’t live bound forever in your refusal to truly heal.

Ask God to give you strength to get through whatever may be troubling you. Go to God. He will fix it for you. People may hurt you but when you know what you know about God, there’s nothing man can do to you to stop him from fulfilling his purpose. God is a heart fixer, mind regulator, a doctor in the sick room. He’s a healer, no matter what ails you. No matter the circumstance, stand! Stand on the Word of God. Put everything in his hands. Life is worth living when you live for God.

I love the Lord! No matter how many times I may fail him, I know I’m loved. I am a work in progress. There’s no turning back. Whatever I go through, I know God got my back.

The enemy may come in like a flood but God will lift up a standard against him. The devil thought he won. Ha! Look at me. I’m still standing! I may have been through the storm, but I made it. I got a feeling next year is going to be AMAZING!!

Be blessed! -JD

Ephesians 1:11-14 In him we have obtained an inheritance, having been predestined according to the purpose of him who works all things according to the counsel of his will, 12 so that we who were the first to hope in Christ might be to the praise of his glory. 13 In him you also, when you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation, and believed in him, were sealed with the promised Holy Spirit, 14 who is the guarantee of our inheritance until we acquire possession of it, to the praise of his glory. I Finally Found the Secret to Joy – My Joy Comes From the Lord!

wpid-img_20141122_192000.jpgHappiness is based on external situations or circumstances. It’s temporary. Joy is internal and deeply rooted. It is based on God’s presence within us. It is lasting.

When the enemy comes to kill, steal, and destroy, reverse the curse! Don’t let him take your joy. Tell him he can’t have it. God gave it to you. Tell him find someone else to pick on!

Oftentimes the secret to joy can be found easily. It’s when we allow circumstances or people influence our thoughts that makes it difficult, causing us to believe we can never be happy. Live and let live. That’s what I always say. Because when others are miserable or unhappy, they seek to make you feel the same miserable way. Understand God has a future for you. Find joy. Don’t let the negative opinions of others steal your joy.

There are times we will go through what seems unbearable and feel our situation is much worse than others. And believe they don’t understand none of what we’re facing. We will say, “But you don’t know what I’ve been through.” If you took a moment and really thought about it, imagine what some in the Bible went through. You will find it was much worse than what you could ever go through.

In Galatians 6:17 Paul tells us, “Finally, let no one cause me trouble, for I bear on my body the marks of Jesus.” Paul suffered, went through worse, and was covered in scars. He was beaten, robbed, betrayed, and mocked by most of the world. Yet, he still rejoiced in the Lord. Paul had a cause for joy. He had been counted worthy to suffer for Christ. How about you? Can you rejoice no matter what the enemy may do to hurt, harm, or destroy you?

Jesus was crucified. He was mocked too. He was forced to wear a crown of thorns and bled from the thorns he wore on his head. That didn’t stop him from fulfilling the purpose God intended. In fact, the crown of thorns worked opposite of the mockery the Roman soldiers intended. It was a great symbol of who Jesus is and what he came to accomplish.

He was nailed to the cross and died for us. He died for our sake. If Christ could die on the cross and take the punishment we deserved, why can’t we, just as Paul, suffer for His sake? If Jesus had no problem sacrificing his life for our sins, why can’t we sacrifice our selfish desires for him and rejoice when we suffer?

As for me, I finally found the secret to joy. It’s not based on what I have, my circumstances, or what I’ve managed to overcome because of what I’ve been through. My joy comes from the Lord. I’ve learned no matter what circumstance I face, I will rejoice in the Lord. In spite of my troubles, I give glory to God for all that I have been through. God will get the glory. Because had it not been for my troubles, I would have no reason to praise him.

Every day I count my blessings, one by one. I thank God for all he’s done. This journey I’ve traveled may not have been the best at times, especially when I wanted to give up. I may have cried for a little while, but when I look back over my life I am amazed God brought me this far. I have no regrets. I am thankful for each trial, tribulation and setback. Because it was a setback for my comeback.

Don’t let circumstances or people define you. Let your heart be glad. Feel joy. God gave it to you. When you have the presence of God within you, you have found the secret to joy. Praise God in advance for all the things he is going to do, will do, and has done.

Praise him for the things he didn’t do. He knew what was best for you. In spite of your deepest troubles, know that you can feel joy. Don’t look to the right or to the left. Look to God. Count it all joy!

Make a declaration today, “I’ve found the secret to joy!” God’s presence is within me. My hope is in the Lord. I will be content. My tongue will rejoice. Be blessed! -JD

Psalm 16:9-11 “Therefore my heart is glad and my tongue rejoices; my body also will rest secure, 10 because you will not abandon me to the grave, nor will you let your Holy One see decay. 11 You have made known to me the path of life, you will fill me with joy in your presence, with eternal pleasures at your right hand.” (NIV)

When God Says It is Finished, It is Done. Believe Him. Count It Done

wpid-img_20141212_212014.jpgFor years I lived in fear, afraid of what people would say about or do to me if I followed God’s orders and did what I knew He anointed me to do. I kept fighting against God and at times, gave in to the enemy in my refusal to move forward.

There were times when I wondered if I was doing the right thing when letting the opinions of others affect my decision. In some ways I failed God. I was a people pleaser. I would please everyone but God or myself. Never once considering what I lacked but always had the best interest of others at heart.

I lived in darkness. I couldn’t see the light. I found myself alone. I lost sight of God. I lost some friends and family along the way. At times, I would question my own capability. Better yet, I lacked faith in God’s ability.

I could have chosen to be bitter but I didn’t. Instead it made me stronger, wiser, better. In spite of the negative opinions, haters, naysayers, and those who chose not to support me, it influenced my decisions that much more to do better. I refused to let it dictate my destiny. I persevered. It caused me to soar into my destiny.

While I know I may have a long ways to go before I see the fruits of my labor, I know that my labor is not in vain. God sees and knows everything. God has given me many great gifts even though at times I feel I’m not capable of standing up to the challenge. God knows my heart. It is through his strength I am able to meet every challenge. And for that I am thankful to God.

God sends me through tests to see how I handle things. He gives me little to see how I handle much to prepare for what’s coming. I may never understand the workings of God. But I am so glad I understand and know just how much he loves me and what he has equipped me to do.

God doesn’t call the equipped. He equips the called. I know in my heart that I have been chosen and called by God. No matter what people may do to me, I will keep walking in my destiny. God gave it to me.

Whenever you find yourself faced with a difficult dilemma, know that God is working it out in your favor. He will do what he promised to do. God is faithful. Have faith. God got you!

Be blessed! –JD

Thank God for the Trials

wpid-img_20141205_112118.jpgEven in your greatest trial, which may seem difficult to handle, God will use it for your good and for his glory. Let it become your testimony.

God will equip you with all you need for doing his will (Hebrews 13:21). He will give you what he knows you need to endure. And we know that all things work together for the good of those who love God; those who are called according to His purpose (Romans 8:28).

Let the world know of God’s marvelous works. Show them what he has done for you. Let them see how good God has been to you. Don’t let trials discourage you to the point of defeat. Thank God for them. They are meant to happen for a reason. No matter what you may be going through, know that God is with you. He will never leave you or forsake you. Count it all joy. Trials build endurance. It will help you grow and become stronger. Thank you Jesus.

Be encouraged. God doesn’t call the equipped; He equips the called. Some of his greatest work is done through broken people. God can use you. He will equip you for the great things he has in store for you. Be blessed! -JD

Hebrews 13:20-21 “May the God of peace, who through the blood of the eternal covenant brought back from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great Shepherd of the sheep, 21 equip you with everything good for doing his will, and may he work in us what is pleasing to him, through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.” (NIV)

I Love the Lord! It’s Just That Simple

wpid-img_20141114_202131.jpgWhen we wait on God’s timing and not allow the influence of others cause us to act prematurely, God will show up and show out, suddenly.

While you are waiting on God, he is waiting on you, to see who you will trust; him or the human efforts of others.

The past month I had an experience that almost knocked me to my knees because of a series of events and God interceding on my behalf that occurred letting me know He was in the midst of it all.

It was as though God spoke to me and confirmed things that were about to come to pass in my life based on what I heard the past weeks at church regarding the shift that is going to occur. It brought about renewed hope and assurance I was on the right path. God spoke to me and confirmed a number of things that took my breath away. It was a divine manifestation of the will of God.

See, when I approached God over a year ago seeking direction and discernment because there were so many things and people trying to negatively influence my decision on a very important matter I became frustrated and wasn’t sure, not which way to go but why was the attack so deep. Yet I refused to let anything move me in my obedience and faithfulness to God.

For the past few weeks I have been following God’s instructions and listening to that still small whisper while working on some things he is leading me to complete. And all I can say, I am a witness to God’s power and his promises.

I may have become discouraged at times and lost my way often enough. I didn’t let it shake my faith or my belief. I trusted the process and God’s timing. No matter what, I never stopped praying. God answered my prayers in his timing.

The atmosphere has shifted. Some things are about to change in my life and I am overwhelmed yet filled with joy! God is so good to me. I love the Lord with all my heart. From his word I will never depart. I may get weary at times, but I know God is on my side. I won’t look to the right or to the left. I will look to the hills from whence cometh my help.

God is my rock and my redeemer. His praise shall continually be in my mouth. Thank you Jesus.

I love the Lord with all my heart. It’s just that simple. God is so good to me. He’s absolutely amazing. My heart belong to Him. I love him.

Be blessed! -JD

Psalm 116:1-2 “I love the LORD, for he heard my voice; he heard my cry for mercy. 2 Because he turned his ear to me, I will call on him as long as I live. (NIV)

I GOT A TESTIMONY!

wpid-img_20141117_110646.jpgWhen I look back over my life and think of all God has done for me, I can’t help but to thank him and shout glory! My life is filled with the goodness of God. My heart is full. I have the peace of God. The more my mind and soul are at rest, the less I am distressed. I don’t worry about a thing. I know I’m blessed.

Had my life been this simple years ago, I would have been on top of the world but then I thought, had I not met with trials, trouble, and tribulations, how would I have overcome? Had I not faced insurmountable obstacles causing me to seek God’s help, where then would my provision have come from? Certainly not me. I was a mess myself. I was so messed up and couldn’t get a thing right which caused me a lot of trouble. Every decision I made without God turned into a disaster.

Had I not met with what I felt was a tragedy in the death of my former life when I lost everything, what would I have or where would I be now? Without God, I would have nothing. Every trial, test, tragedy, trouble, and tribulation was for God’s purpose. It strengthen my faith. It wasn’t meant to be finished sooner rather than later. God had a purpose.

For every terrible experience, God intended to use it to accomplish a greater good. Everything I have gone through in my life was for a greater good. People may have left me, folks may have talked about me, and some may have even denied me. But God. I’m a living testimony. I’m still standing.

I found that in every season of my life, even though it took years, God had to work through me, prune, and develop me for my future to arrive here. I’m stronger, wiser, better. I have no regrets. Had it not been for the Lord on my side, my soul would not be at rest. God I thank you. My soul cries yes!

When in distress, take a moment to look over your life and think about the goodness of God. When you meet new trials, remember how great God is and how good He has been to you. Think about all the good things, even in the bad times, that God has done for you. There may have been some bad times and trouble seemed like it was going to last forever. God is a good God. He is always on time. He is sovereign.

We don’t know what a person had to get through to get where they are. They don’t look like what they been through. God brought them this far.

In everything, give thanks to God. It was by his grace you made it. God brought you this far.

Be blessed! -JD

Psalm 71:14-18 “As for me, I will always have hope; I will praise you more and more. 15 My mouth will tell of your righteous deeds, of your saving acts all day long—though I know not how to relate them all. 16 I will come and proclaim your mighty acts, Sovereign Lord; I will proclaim your righteous deeds, yours alone. 17 Since my youth, God, you have taught me, and to this day I declare your marvelous deeds. 18 Even when I am old and gray, do not forsake me, my God, till I declare your power to the next generation, your mighty acts to all who are to come.” (NIV)

God’s Plan is Much Greater Than What We See. Have Faith. Believe!

wpid-textgram_1407220058.pngOftentimes we may never understand the meaning of life, the actions of others, or the workings of God. Yet we continue to live. Not realizing where we may find ourselves is not because of what we’ve done but because of what God is doing and has done.

Life is a journey, filled with unwinding roads, unforeseen circumstances, insurmountable obstacles, painstaking moments, and impoverished mindsets. At times, may cause us to lose our way, changing our mindset. Failing to see God in anything. Be assured, God is all knowing. He cares for us. He loves us and is always with us.

Sometimes trials are meant to test us. To see just how much we trust God. No matter the circumstance, He wants to know how much will we trust him. He wants to know if we trust what he will do, regardless of what we’re facing, knowing in the end what we will do. He knows what he’s going to do.

Prayer is key. It unlocks the door to faith. No matter what you may face today, have faith. Know that the answer is just a prayer away. God is sovereign. He would never bring us this far to leave us. Put your trust in Him.

It is never for us to understand why things happen as they do or why God does what he does. We only need to have faith in what we cannot see, believing God’s plan is much greater than what we see.

God has a plan and we’re part of it. Don’t fret. Great is thy faithfulness. Trials will come. The storm won’t last forever. God is the same yesterday and today and forever.

Be blessed! -JD

Deuteronomy 28:1-3 “And if you faithfully obey the voice of the LORD your God, being careful to do all his commandments that I command you today, the LORD your God will set you high above all the nations of the earth. 2 And all these blessings shall come upon you and overtake you, if you obey the voice of the LORD your God. 3 Blessed shall you be in the city, and blessed shall you be in the field.” (ESV)
